Things to Do in Isla Ometepe

The island of Ometepe is a really special place. It is unbelievably beautiful. There is a ton to do and in this video I aim to show you the highlights.
The main thing to do is to rent a scooter and take a ride to Mango beach for the sunset. This is always a good choice because backpackers and locals alike come to enjoy the views.
You can climb either of the volcanos on the island: Concepcion and Madera. Concepcion costs money because you need a guide to reach the summit. I climbed Madera with some friends and it was tough at our pace but still cool and had some great views of the other volcano on the way down.
Renting a scooter costs $15 or a little more if you do it near the port. Ojo del Agua is a natural spring on the eastern part of the island, near the connection point (isthmus). It costs $10 to enter and you get one drink with that.
There are bad roads on that side of the island, near Madera and Altagracia. There is a really cool little beach near Santa Cruz that is hidden from most people. I found a $1 gym in Moyogalpa. Be very careful with riding the scooters. People from my hostel were given tickets by the local cops for just driving over a median line on the main roads.
