Well hot damn, I was not expecting to see a task of one of my favorite racing games ever, and one of my favorite games from childhood! Holy crap, built up explosions of speed a la Mario 64! Awesome!
I think if you use a Turbo Power Up while in the air, you carry momentum to the tyres, and then when the tyres touch the ground again it goes at speed of light
