- True love is finally done! It would have been my first if i didn’t host “Ashfur can't decide” on a whim, but True Love will always be first in my heart. True Love has been in the back of my mind since 2022 and it's so crazy actually having it be real. I’m so grateful to have people who love my au enough to want to animate it, this wouldn't be possible without them, let's give them some love!

First off im glad everyones loving the map! It makes me so happy going through all the comments im getting. I have something else in the works for you all and i hope you'll like it!
Second, im sorry for the sudden quality drop in the disclaimer and the credits! The disclaimer was downloaded straight from discord as i didnt have enough time to export the frames to google drive and download them. The original credits animation was deleted from my phone and i also had to use a backup i found on discord! Thankfully they dont look too bad on smaller devices but its really evident on bigger devices! I'll try to be more careful next time :]

He is abusive. Period. He wasnt "good to her and then ruined" he was ALWAYS bad to her, their relationship was ALWAYS toxic.
Squirrelflight wasnt "also abusive". Sure she was unreasonable sometimes but thats not abuse. Most of the scenes bramble defenders like to point at and go "look shes abusing him!" Are literally just scenes of squilf defending herself.
You shouldn’t be underrated……
The fact that this has to be an AU for a healthy relationship should prove to the Erins that BrambleSquirrel is not a good relationship

I am not really into alternative universes but I do like this one a lot, it portrays the Squirreflight we knew... when she was younger she used to be: energetic, excited about things, adventuress... but as time passes by being with Bramblestar it looks like she is all drained out.
Honestly it would've been so good if Bramble was a sorta Thrushpelt like character where Leaf and Sauirrel told him about the kits situation and that Squirrel was told she couldn't have kits and became the threes father anyways and still loved them. Ugh. Would've been so much better.
Saddest part is he never even got that chance. He was just straight up not told because of StarClan.
God I hate that he wasn't told, things would've been a million times better if he was :(
I heard of at least one au fanfic where he knows from the start, haven't read it but I think that idea would be fun to play with
I will say in the book I remember he had a scene where it was shown he still loved hollyleaf like she was his daughter even after he found out, I can't remember much for the other two though.
Squirrelflight and Brambleclaw's mortified expressions as they were reading Squirrelflight's Hope in the credits SENT ME it was so funny lol
I love this idea of BrambleSquirrel and I think this is what they should have been (and honestly what they were probably intended to be, even though that's not how it turned out unfortunately) in canon! They're so cute here in this AU and I love them, the designs and animators were also so great!

Exactly this! I feel like it was meant to be silly like this map with some complications, like their breakup after hollyleaf exposed squilfs lie, but have their love overcome it and make their relationship stronger in the end. However, the writing just wasn't good and it missed the mark in actually showing the healthy parts of their relationship. It focused on conflict because that moves the plot alongside the usual erinification of squilf (gradually stripping away defining character traits of characters, especially women, over time) really showed a girl getting beaten down by a shitty relationship while the relationship talks about how great it is. Definitely supposed to be loving by how the narrative and narrator treat it but not at all how it's shown through the actual characters and writing, if that makes sense. I feel like a Theif in Thunderclan style manga or novella focusing on their relationship with a nothing background plot could really help this issue. It wouldn't fix it, but showing Squilf bringing up an issue, bramble doubting her, apologizing when she expresses hurt, and explaining why he thinks the way he does and that he'll still support her even though they disagree could be a great way to show how the two of them have progressed past Hawkfrost era NANANA IM NOT LISTENING conflict. It'd cement the development they tried to give Bramble with the whole "oohh so you love your sister like I love mine, I get it" line abt the kit secret. If it was shorter and the conflict less substantial, again, like a theif in thunderclan, it could focus on their relationship and how they interact and support one another. Sorry for all the yapping, I hope this makes sense, I just feel like they're such wasted potential to show a healthy relationship building from an immature teenage romance. I also think that would make Ashfurs behavior suck even harder in TBC because it would completely ruin all their relationships development and make Squilfs horror and pain more palpable.
i hate how they ruined bramblekit/paw and made squirrelflight suffer so much. I wish they could have been friends, or perhaps amicable exes, but this map is so cute and in a canon+ type of au where things are as true to the story as they can while being better, healthy bramblesquirrel is my fluffy guilty pleasure. :p

My partner and I watched this together just now and kept talking about how adorable the ship would be if they were like this in canon!! Everyone did so well, such a good map ugh they really had such a missed potential for this sort of chemistry
I died when Squirrel and Bramble were reading Squirrelflight’s Hope in the credits 😂😂
I really normally hate this ship, but for this AU only, I love it. I wish they behaved like this in the books instead of Bramble being toxic and I’m pretty sure emotionally abusive towards Squilf. I miss how she was in the earlier books where she was energetic and loud, but now she just seems, well, drained.
Aside from the story, the animation was amazing! I can tell a lot of work was put into it, and I love it!
Also does anyone else think Moonkitti needs to see this MAP?
To be honest, it's weird to see Bramble not being an assh0le to Squirrel.

Surreal and almost wrong it's been so many books of him abusing her.
I love how ashfur is like "I'M GOING TO TALK TO YOU !" and then squirrelflight and brambleclaw/star are just like" oh hell naw we going to have problems!" Makes me laugh everyone dod so good on this map
God I wish this was canon. They had their rough times early in the series, but I feel after PoT and the kits reveal their relationship was completely ruined and the Erins don't know how to write their relationship so that Bramble and Squirrel could genuinely heal from the hurt they experienced in life. Also did not help that they wanted to make him a 'villain' in different books and completely changed his personality to be an asshole.
Not so fun fact: my ex actually spoke to one of the authors in a chat room and mentioned how Bramble was toxic and the authors were like, "whoops, that was an accident" ._.

This map is proof that in cannon Bramble and Squirrel had so much potential to be wholesome and adorable. I love this map. I wish the Erins would notice Bramble's toxic behavior.
Plus I love Bramble and Squirrel looking horrified at the relationship dynamic between them two in an alternate universe from theirs at 4:48 , it's just *MM* perfection.

The fact that a whole AU needs to be created to make their relationship healthy. Like theres points where their relationship is absolutely adorable just for that to be thrown out a chapter later because Brambleclaw manages to fuck SOMETHING up. The erins are so desperate to have Tigerstar's son and Firestar's daughter be together for irony's sake that they completely ignore that Squirrelflight is being near constantly abused
i think one of the the worst things they did for brambleclaw is making him deputy, it was completely contradictory to his arc and chasing ambition above actual care for his clan or leadership qualities, and plus it later heavily contributes to him abusing the hell out of the power imbalance between him and squirrelflight
Man, this is a bittersweet thing to watch. I'm an older reader, stopping after reading the Power of Three saga when it was fresh. To hear how much Bramble and the Bramble/Squif ship changed.... sucks. Bramble was my favorite character(still is if I'm only considering the books I actually read), and his dynamic with Squirrel was fun during the journey to the lake. Thank goodness AUs exists to make life a little brighter~ Lovely work everyone~ You put a smile on this old fan's face!

This is canon in my heart, I loved their dynamic in TMP and the way it seemed to be going. I love to ignore canon and pretend they're happily married and love to tease one another affectionately, especially post TBC. The end credits of them horrified reading squirrelflights hope is so silly, love this sm :3

Sorry for coming later but, I liked it a lot! To be honest I didn't liked this ship from the start because bramble is much older than squirrel and this became an abusive relashionship. But I liked seeing a map with them having a healthy relashionship

This reminds me of where my "I love tsunderes" twelve year old butt *thought* Bramblexsquirrel was gonna go - a lot of arguing, a lot of snarking, a lot of work, but ultimately healthy and wholesome. Instead, what we got was... yeah.
Also, both of the songs used in this MAP perfectly encapsulate InuKag, polarshipping, and how I wrote mizushipping in a story I wrote (I still love snarky, old-married-couple bickering in a ship) so that's great.

@@arrowwaves5900 oh I know, I’m just being incredibly broad!! It’s just that Tigerstar was MADE to be a villain, and did more than just being one, he was a horrible person too. While bramblestar was made to counteract him, but turned out to be just as bad as him, without the murder (excluding killing hawkfrost since that was in self defense)
Gotta love how Ashfur doesn't even have a legitimate design because in this AU Squilf didn't even CONSIDER him over Brambleclaw lmao.

This is really refreshing to see after… whatever garbage bramblesquirrel turned into. Canonically they both deserve better, I feel that they both would’ve been better off with other cats rather than the constant back and forth abuse (or more so just toxicity in general, not rlly abuse as that’s wayyy extreme to call Bramble, and even too extreme to call Squilf) they throw at eachother. Great map tho, you’e rlly underrated!
The good ending: Where squilf feels comfortable enough with bramble to tell him about the three, and he understands and accepts them as his own.
IF I ever made a Warriors AU fanfic, I would ABSOLUTELY do 1 Thing: Make sure Squirrelflight and Brambleclaw have a 100% positive relationship. Having them break up at the end of PoT and take so long to get back together was a STUPID decision. The Hunters basically pulled a Tobey Maguire Spider-Man on their relationship. Drama that was not necessary.
