Your comment really has me smiling with gratitude. I'm 44. Been into H.C. at 17. I remember it so clearly. I always switched from Death Metal to rap or hard rock.. I explained this to someone at a C.D. store and was handed a V.O.D. album. Listening to the first track my jaw was dropped. Man I'm so grateful to to be 44 and proudly still say I live the Hardcore life. H.C. or H.C. genres have truly saved my life

I found my passion then, but their was only Hardcore or Straight Edge Hardcore, it was a negative time by those who shaved there heads and red laces out. I'm respecting guidelines. Also if they took the scene we wouldnt have bands as colorful. The only African American artist from Blood Has Been Shed who later became the lead vocalist for Killswithch Engage. "Howard". I just hope your not a racist but if we would not have had rap you wouldn't have Deathcore today. Just research the history.. I mean Do you like it when people make fun of OUR music. I don't. PLEASE READ. I REALLY PUT HEART INTO THIS COMMENT .ALSO I DO THINK I KNOW EVERYTHING. ..I am 44 years old, and when I was 16 or 17 someone recommended V.O.D. I didn't truly like Death Metal or rap so I asked for a recommendation. When I opened up that C.D. I had no idea I opened what became not only a passion for Hardcore, but at that time I soon realized Hardcore is a life style and many bands still hold onto to the roots thankfully. I soon became very open minded as Hardcore lyrics weren't just words they were words of knowledge to better ones self. Hardcore was not what it is now, in my early years it was a fight between Skins and those of us who believed no one should ever be told because of your race, ethics or religion should ever be told you are not welcome at a show because of one sided ignorance. I along with so many others spilt blood and it was both sides and luckily we took OUR scene I look at the crowds and see all of you young bloods of color and different beliefs enjoying one thing in common and that is our passion for Hardcore or Hardcore genres. I literally am smiling right now with tears of joy because many of us spilt blood because we were fighting for something bigger than ourselves. I really have come to admire bands like Trapped Under Ice. Always remember that OUR scene was not a peaceful one. Remember the roots. Look at shows in the 90s to now . Look at how beautiful it is with so many different fans of beliefs and culture. I and others at one time never knew what kind of uncessary violence could have broke out. The tension sometimes was so thick you could cut it with a knife because it was about to get very real. I kindly ask all of you as an old timer that is now disabled with chronic pain to always remember what some of fought for. I have to be careful to not break guidlines ..The media makes it about gangs and not the good that twenty four or friends that stand united were really fighting for. If we didn't know you we didn't know you or what your motive was at a show we were hard on new blood and I had to experience that first hand but I showed up to the next show with loving arms, and a brotherhood that I'll never forget. Brass knuckles are not just a symbol for fun. Brass knuckles have history in this scene, and the word hate was takin from Skins. My close friend Josh who is still a pure blood and who was apart of starting 24 said we used that word in all diffetent meanings. We wanted to remind skins your words of hate would be takin into a path of positivity.. The hate for those that opress with fasicm and ignorance...Please stop with these little crews. We spilt our blood so you don't have to. Only spill blood in good clean fun. Keep it violent but look out for everyone. Shake someones hand and introduce yourself. When you walk into a show you should automatically know your in the safest place you can be. If you get out of line and target people ya your gonna get checked but don't do that s*** . I hope my words have given you a feeling of warmth and helped you to realize you should never feel that you are not welcome. I'm proud of OUR scene. I miss shows and I need to get over my insecurities of being disabled. This music has saved lives. I love you all and if you read this I'm so grateful for you. Look out for each other and protect one another. Crowd bashing or crowd killing is all normal and it's a way to get out our disgust for everyday life. Trapped Under Ice Remembering Never, Dying Fetus Shai Hulud, Cold as Life no matter what genre of Core your art will always be respected and for you to step inside the Hardcore scene and express your gratitude for Hardcore has made me a true fan. I leave with this. Always remember us Old Timers spilled blood for you and we now are passing something so precious down to you. Always remember to shake someones hand and make them feel welcome so that way skins can never come back because wether you know it or not they are trying. Look up Oi bands. Their are bands I will not mention that play hidden amongst straight edge bands that will not speak one fascist or racist word but you will have to research them yourselves and one band dropped my jaw to read because many of you have heard of them. Take care thank you so much for allowing me to share my experience and word. "I GOT EDGE' is one the foundations to always respect and it's ok if your not. Although those words set Hardcore apart from any other genre of music in my opinion. If you read this Thank you.. I may be wrong on some words but I hope my words have helped in whatever or however way you perceived them . Much love

I worked Security for over 15 years and for a side job I worked Security at the Nile Theater in Mesa A.Z was an escape to see more shows really from my priority security job. Occasionally the artists if they want to film. Mainly who owns the venue or is responsible for anyone getting hurt..My experience simply it's safety. I remember seeing I Declare War. Forget if I was working or there to enjoy but right as the break down for Misery Cloud hit all the lights went on, and with the lights on that was bar none the most explosive and brutal pit, it also keeps the coward hiding in the dark in a large pit hitting random people with brass Knuckles. Certain artists that bring crews for sure....In my experience it's a safety precaution all about safety
