Well I was tempted, I thought "oh we will have that, a bit of a polish and it will be fine" until you showed the fake rock, that was a deal breaker lol. Excellent video Alex.
The fiberglass rock.... NO!!!!!!
Interesting story, but the largest chalet in the alps is in Crans-Montana (Switzerland). It is 4,800m2.
It Monday morning so its time for Monday morning comment take down :-)
I'm sure you are referring to the Ultima Crans Chalets as the largest chalet in the alps. However you will notice that these are adjacent chalets (plural) so more than one chalet. 4,500 / 2 = 2250. Nice try Neal but Courchevel wins. ;-)
This video was entertaining
Great story, must be loads of stuff like that, hidden in plain site.
It has given me an idea for a second video. As soon as i finish dog sitting duties.
So why did they name it Chalet Apopka? Because that is the name of the city I grew up in. It’s in Florida and the name came from the native Americans that used to live here. It means “Big Potato”.
Wow. I did not know that. (or is that a Ron Burgundy line). Thank you for the 2020 knowledge.
New signs up today, looks like it’s up for auction again this May.
Better get my wallet out then.
Nothing I hear on this channel gives me the faintest interest to spend even a single day in this resort…
I will ponder that thought as I go out skiing in the largest ski area in the world.
what a shame, it looks beautiful
I year after filming and still vacant, still slowly deteriorating
I'm amazed that if they're trying to sell it again why it hasn't been marketed more with videos and photos of the interior. All seems very cloak and dagger which in todays world always raises questions. Then there's the price...surely if they'd be willing to take a price cut then they might be able to get rid of it.
The reason there is no photos of the interior is it's a complete mess. To be polite there is 5 years worth of dust inside. the wood outside has faded from leaks etc. I would hate to think what it smells like. Everything is filthy, unfinished. You can see boxes and sheets through the windows. Every dog in the world has used the top balcony as a toilet. It's like a canine minefield. There is literally no good close up imagery.
@@150daysofwinter Im amazed that a 'billionaire' let it get that bad. Did they figure out what went wrong with the project in the end? Besides running out of funds obviously.
@@BramskiVlogs I have no idea why the project stopped. Maybe a planning problem? Maybe not paying the builders? I know the Russian involved probably has enough spare change down the back of his sofa to fund the entire project.
@@150daysofwinter Yes as you mentioned in the video about the previous house that was there, that may have had something to do with it. Are there still restrictions on russians in courcheval? I remember when the ukraine conflict was going on the courcheval mayor imposed some sanctions. Just spitballing. Anyway quite an interesting time for it to go up for auction again considering how there's still a lot of uncertainty over travel. No point buying it if they cant go to it next winter.
@@BramskiVlogs Apparently the old chalet is still in pieces (somewhere) and they have stopped paying the rent on that too. The current Mayor is very friendly with the Russians. The Russian was the one who pulled out of the previous auction at the last minute. With the amount of work needed you would be lucky if it was even habitable by next winter.
Any updates on this chalet Alex, has it been sold? Hope your keeping well.
it was going to go to auction but the Russian who owns at least half pulled out at the last minute. The only thing that has changed since last year is the level of decay. No more maintenance has been done.
I got 15 euros in my pocket, so maybe together we can deal it :-D Place enough would be :-)
That and my 10 would give the Russian 25 more euros than he already has.
Well they did try didn’t they.......and failed.........a lot
If ever there was an EPIC FAIL chalet. This is it!
