The finished yarns are gorgeous!!! I'd have to say my fav out of all of them is the art batt simply because of the colors 😍I've never tried spinning my own yarn but it is in my (far) future plans...

I've been using spindles for a while now, but im getting my first spinning wheel soon, and i am so exited to get my little fiber goblin hands on it and make a ton of yarn

Thats so exciting - i hope you’ll have tons of fun with the wheel!! 🤩 ❤️

i prefer spinning on my wheel to my spindles, just because of the speed of it, but since I've been diagnosed with mid-foot arthritis, its been something i've had to do less and less of. I've picked up my spindles more often lately. (that being said, talking about how we should rest but that does not work for creativity, i pinched something in my carpel tunnel a couple of weeks back and needed to take a week off knitting and spinning. picked up a quilting UFO, and immediately made sewing my number 1 hobby again. resting one's hands can be dangerous)

Ouch, I'm sorry to hear about the arthritis :( But yes to the speed of the wheel! (omg first off - I hope the carpal issues heal up well & fast! But also that's totally something I would do too. Resting? NEVER. Quilting is so much fun tho!)

omg they all came out so beautiful! i've spun a little bit in the past + really enjoyed it, but i fell out of the habit, tbh. this has really inspired me to get out my spindles again tho! 💜

Aw, thank you so much! And I'm glad it could inspire you! Spinning, for me, is very much something I do intensely for a while and then I don't touch it for a long while, so I know what you mean with falling out of the habit, hah. ^^'

Only thing that spins round here is the washing machine.
I LOVED the purple chain plyed and the black-ish 3ply. The Art yarn sounds like it was really troublesome but I did like the result. The Unicorn Floof was cute when skeined up but really not my colours ❤

      Hehe ^^
Thank you :D It really was a pain to make that art yarn, but thankfully now when I see it, I don't remember how miserable it was to spin and I kind of want to make more xD

    Thoseyarns are gorgeous!
I hope you can get your wheel fixed so it spins more smoothly.
I don’t own a traditional spinning wheel, I have an EEW Nano2 which I absolutely love since I got it last November. If things go well I’m getting myself the EEW6 next year. Due to health reasons I can’t treadle for long and my e-spinner has been a wonderful solution. Spinning lace weight yarn on my spindles was simply taking too long for the yardage I want for my projects. I still take my spindles to work, for some lunchtime relaxation and have just started teaching a colleague last week. She’s got 3 kids and was looking for something she could easily take out but can quickly set aside if there’s a kid catastrophe (as one does, with three lively sons). She’s now borrowed one of my spindles and LOVES it.
As for what I prefer… hard to say. I guess I love spindle spinning just as much as spinning on my wheel. It’s… a different vibe?

      Thank you!
the EEW looks so nice, it's so tiny and cute! I'm glad it works for you! Fingers crossed you can get the EEW6! :) I feel you on the lace weight on spindle thing, it's a drag. I find it to be ok on the Turkish spindle, because every little turtle feels like its own project, but it does leave you with a lot of little singles 🤯
It's lovely that your colleague is learning, too!

@@Shaiyeh - You’re right about each little turtle feeling like its own project. Until… you’re trying to spin enough yardage for something specific, which is what I tend to do. Then it becomes a “Sigh… X more turtles to go!” kind of story. LOL
THE Nano2’s bobbins are quite small, which means it still yields less yardage than a regular bobbin but I find that in a way, this helps. You get more than off a Turkish spindle suitable for lace weight yarn, but it takes less time than it would to fill a full-size bobbin. Depending on fibre and gauge I can get roughly the same amount of ounces/grams/yards/metres on a bobbin as a ball of commercial lace weight yarn would have and that suits me fine.
I’m currently working on spinning enough for a specific pattern that requires a good 800-1000 metres of lace weight yarn (2-ply). It’s for an Estonian lace shawl and I’ve still got a few bobbins to fill. Then, the plying will start… and I’ve already got the fibre lined up (and the test spin done!) for the project after that. Because why not look ahead, right? Why resist those oh so pretty braids and batts, especially if there’s a discount code or a fair and you can get a great deal? Can’t resist all the time. 😇

@@eddavanleemputten9232 yesss I know what you mean! 😂 this is what I had with my grey spin in this video x)
Ohhh, that does sound like a lovely project, I love Estonian lace shawls - I need to try kitting one at some point. Good luck with the spin! and absolutely look ahead, if nothing else it's the treat for finishing the current spin, right? X)

Thanks! And welcome! No worries - the big orange one that's always in frame and getting into stuff is Cheddar, and the Persian cat is Elsa. 🌸 She doesn't like the camera as much 💕
