- Never thought that this would be how I first cover the Fourth Doctor on my channel, but I guess that's fitting lmao. In the latest Patreon commission I take a deep dive into the Big Finish audio drama "The Tribulations of Thadeus Nook" and...it's certainly something.

"Doctor can't we use the TARDIS to save Adric?"
"Uhhh... No. It's a fixed point in time or something like that."
"You're sure we can't ask the Time Lords for help?"
"No."
"But..."
"Adric is not coming back."
Imo early Big Finish was a mesh but a very charming mesh. Quality was over the place and you either got terrible stories or amazingly enjoyable ones no middle ground. But after that... I don't know, they're just sort of there. The lows are higher and the highs are lower but I have a really hard time finding stories that are particularly memorable. I'll check this one out I guess.
The thumbnail intrigued me,
wondered where it was going..
"What is that?! it's the unknown!"
14:00 'The Tramp Stamp of Peregrine Took' lol
this actually sounds like a great audio :)
One of my favourite Big Finish time travel stories (maybe not as high on my list as the two-parter with the clocksmith or Palindrome, but still great fun.)
I'm obsessed with the time war stories myself
I thought Adric couldn't be saved because the TARDIS console was damaged?
I have around 70 fourth Doctor audios from Big Finish starring Tom Baker. I love them for their variety and high concepts. "The Tribulations of Thadeus Nook" is great fun. If the stories didn't have the original voices of Tom Baker, Louise Jameson, Lalla Ward or John Leeson, I wouldn't have bothered. Hearing these fourth Doctor audios throw me back to the 1980s when I was watching the TV episodes on PBS.
U gotta do more of these man!
It's always nice hearing a big finish review, even if it's a commission thanks for the review
Next Time its time to hear a trilogy of tales from the dystopia of Undergods
Do a Christmas episode on the chimes of midnight!
I don't think Time crashes are ordinary, I think the TARDIS just likes them and seeks them out. Same way it knows where to show up that the Doctor will be needed.
See when I think of the Kennedy Assassination I think of The Master being there because of a novel, but you think of the 9th Doc being there. Funny that.
And another example of how Adric could've been saved... 😆 I could dispute that but won't bother cause it's 🤣
man i've never heard harbowholmes swear before
Great vid
You should talk about classic who episodes and just explain what happens in them and how you would review them
time traveling tourists I want to have made that story
"Delta and the Bannermen" already did it
@@TexasTimeLord I have never seen Classic Doctor
I wonder what happened to Nathan Gibson
6:08 lmao
Big Finish is not canon. Sorry.....
Also in "Delta and the Bannermen" it is SO easy to travel back in time & space that there are dodgy tour buses.
And an evil, apparently well-known mercenary gang can waltz in, and use the time machine to hunt down innocent victims
The show doesn't have a canon. The only constant is the Dr's POV, so to disregard Big Finish (A vast amount of which is flat out better than the show anyway)especially when the Dr has made direct reference to certain events in the show, is really quite foolish.
