    This video was the reason I chose my Storm Intense. Pin up 1inch above ring finger"right hand". Thumb is directly below pin, 2inches left of RADe. Thumb is 4inches left of weight hole.. Can I get a hybrid that can come off the gutter "I don't walk straight and my arm swing is inconsistent..Thank you Luke. I do enjoy your videos...

    Great review fella. I’m soon becoming a Roto/Storm convert based on your words of wisdom. The Hustle INK is serving me well and this Intense could well suit me on a heavier oiled house I bowl but the higher RG and lower PSA on the 14lb ball has my worried that it won’t perform the same.

      Should make it a sharper reaction, so depends on what you're after. May have to take it to 3000 or so?

    Hey Luke, just recently got back into bowling after an almost 10-year hiatus. I've been watching tons of different ball review videos and yours have quickly become my go-to for anything Storm/Roto-Grip. Anyway, I'm a low-speed, medium-rev lefty. I'm building my arsenal back up again (all my old stuff just does nothing now) and I so far have the Columbia 300 Lit and this Intense. Love both of them! The house shot is heavy oil where I bowl my leagues (modified Kegel High Street pattern but only 41ft instead of original 44ft), and I'm looking to expand my arsenal with 1-2 more balls. I was thinking Soniq for sure and something else I haven't yet decided on. Any suggestions?

    • @LukeRosdahl
      @LukeRosdahl 6 лет назад

      Son!Q is definitely a good choice, it rolls heavy like the Intense but isn't quite so crazy on the backend, so when the Intense starts reading early or getting too strong, can step right down into the Son!Q. Might also look at a solid option too, isn't the Lit a hybrid? Something like Dare Devil Trick, Phaze 2, IQ Tour Solid, etc.

    • @RiffRaffRabble
      @RiffRaffRabble 6 лет назад +1

      Hey Luke, thanks for the reply! The Lit is an asymmetrical solid ball, with 500/2000 Abralon out of the box. It's definitely a big arc type of ball that rolls well at the end.

    • @RiffRaffRabble

      Just pulled the trigger on a Son!Q at my local pro shop. So excited to give it a shot! I also considered picking up a Sure Lock with tax money because the house I bowl at has a long pattern of heavy oil. It mutes pretty much everything on a fresh shot.

    I’m considering a Sword Nano, but it’s gonna cost me a few clams. Wondering if you have any input and if you think the sword line is as good as what everyone says??? I’d like a ball that can give me a completely diff look than anything out there. Current Fav ball, code black, pin up. I’ve been able to start and finish league with this ball for the last month straight, never have to go to a diff ball.

    Luke do you ever find that R3S in this cover for whatever reason bites harder than GI-17, TX-16 and the like? As much as I love how hard and heavy it hits it becomes hard to control the pocket unless I am deep throwing to the 4th arrow. R3S is fairly middle ground on the chart but it bites traction in oil harder than the TX or GI for me. Have you seen similar reactions? R3S just doesn't seem to blend well for me.

    • @LukeRosdahl
      @LukeRosdahl 5 лет назад +1

      Karinholmgren1 Yeah R3S pearl for whatever reason is insanely strong.

      @@LukeRosdahl thanks for the reply! I tamed my Intense down with 4000 but I may relegate it to higher volume longer patterns because I literally have to move 5 to 7 boards deep inside by the end of the third. It is a deceivingly strong core for me despite its smaller mass compared to the lock/code line. It does defy logic in certain ways. Other than my Hyroad Pearl nothing hits harder. Code series a close 2nd or 3rd. Thanks again

    What do you find better for league oil the Intense or Dare Devil Danger? or none of those lol? 2 handed bowler here. Thanks.

    • @LukeRosdahl
      @LukeRosdahl 7 лет назад

      I don’t really know about either of those for a house shot. Danger turns sideways and a 2 handed would need a crap ton of oil for the Intense. Danger would be good to get in and wheel on when the track gets nasty though, I think it could be good for a 2 hander

    • @Karinholmgren1
      @Karinholmgren1 5 лет назад

      As a two hander I can vouch that unless you are comfy moving left or making a few wrist adjustments the Intense OG seems to be a traction monster once it hits dry especially with some shine. You would never believe it was middle ground R3S with the way it cuts

  • @waynedeason1356

    Hey Luke would you consider this ball to be a pretty angular ball? I love throwing angular stuff and always try and buy them when they come out. I didn't really care for the No Rules Pearl, it seemed to read a little earlier than I like and was smoother than I like. Would be great if this ball reacted like the Code Black with just a little more back end motion.

    • @LukeRosdahl
      @LukeRosdahl 7 лет назад

      Not quite angular, but very strong. It's definitely stronger on the back than the Code Black, it doesn't chug quite as hard as the CB does, but if you like backend, you'll like this one.

      Don't know rev rate but low end tweener *at best*. Last season I used Intense Fire a lot, was using Code Red before that. Those pieces were smoother for me. New house I've used Electrify Pearl, Intense Fire, Code Black and now the Intense, they all look pretty good there but sharper seems better at this house and that's what the Intense brings for me.

    The first strike I got with this ball, the four pin was knocked into the 10. *Really* aggressive ball. It hooks more than my Code Black, which used to be my strongest ball. The only problem with this ball, is that if it hits heavy oil, it does not react (I’m a low rev, medium speed player)

    • @LukeRosdahl
      @LukeRosdahl 6 лет назад

      Walter Seeganna Well it’s a shiny ball, so most of the time there isn’t as much grip when the oil is heavier

  • @jereturunen2175
    @jereturunen2175 6 лет назад

    Yo I'm looking to buy this ball! I'm a very low tilt two hander so how would you expect this ball to react for me when there is a lot of oil in the middle but outside part of the lane is a lot drier? Is it like complete overkill for that? Also what would you recommend as a ball that could be used in the beginning to kind of give me miss room as I find it a lot easier to throw hybrid and pearl balls after the lanes have broken down a bit (obviously) and I do not have a solid coverstock ball yet.. Phaze 2 or something like that? What would you recommend?

    • @LukeRosdahl
      @LukeRosdahl 6 лет назад

      As long as there's oil you can keep the Intense in, you'll be fine, it just desperately needs oil. Phaze 2 is kind of high maintenance, so for a two hander, I'd go something like Dare Devil Trick or IQ Tour Solid.

      thomas poor It’s a better choice, but if you want a good heavy oil ball, just get a Sure Lock and call it a day, no reason to even look at anything else

    • @nigegill
      @nigegill 7 лет назад

      I understand what you mean. But there is always a comparison lol. I should have been more exact in my question. i.e does it get into a roll sooner? Is it less responsive to friction due to the slightly weaker cover stock compared to the crux pearl.
      Great work on your latest vids.

    • @LukeRosdahl
      @LukeRosdahl 7 лет назад +1

      Yeah, gets into a roll sooner, more responsive to friction as I believe the Intense cover is actually stronger than the Crux Pearl cover. The Intense is more aggressive in every facet of ball reaction than the Crux Pearl is in my opinion. I loved my Crux Pearl too, the Intense is just more ball across the board by a pretty significant amount.

      It doesn't really compare. Code Red is really controlled and clean all the way down the lane, the Intense is aggressive the whole way down the lane. They aren't in the same universe as far as I'm concerned.
