My grandfather always wanted this song to be played at his funeral. He just passed away because of cancer, and guess what, we're playing this song for him.
Omg im sorry for your grandpa. But he sounds bada$$! Respect
I'm very sorry for your loss.. he had great taste in music :)

I'm a recovering heroin addiction with a year clean. I spent 25 years struggling with addiction. I hope I stay clean this time. This song came out when my addiction started and it is still one of my favorite songs of all time.
Congratulations on your year sobriety! Keep fighting it , you’ve got it!
Stay clean keep living this song fresh beginnings
Good shit bro my grandpa used to always plays this shit blasting it in his work truck with a beer and his glasses and painters clothes on lol I can see this all in my childhood memories and I’m 2 days clean off fentanyl bro the withdrawals hurt so fucking bad but I’m done living that life I’m done nodding out everywhere and ruining my life and if I don’t do it there is so much crucial pain and aches but I’m passed the peak I got into detox I’m changing my life bro good shit just know u ain’t alone with the addiction bro that shits the devil you need to stay close with the man above I promise you I wouldn’t be able to get clean wit out the lords help
@@uncleelroy99 Stick with it my man. I spent years cycling through detox, rehab, relapse, overdose, jail, relapse, detox, relapse, jail over and over until I finally got it right by moving out into the woods with a sober friend who kept me away from all the negativity, bad habits, and bad influences in my home city. I'll be 8 years clean in September. I know exactly how hard it is to change your life and break away from the mind set of addiction. So many friends and acquaintances died along the way from heroin and fentanyl, but myself and a couple others made it out. I've got a decent job now, money, a loving girlfriend, a place of my own that I don't have to worry about where the rent payment is coming from or do sketchy stuff to afford. None of this would be possible if I were still using. I believe that you're strong enough to fight the withdrawals, detox yourself, and build a healthy lifestyle without falling back on the crutch of drugs. The choice is either keep using and die early, or fight through the pain and come out stronger and free on the other side.
@@uncleelroy99 GRATS MAN! Coming up on 2 years for me! If I can do it you can to!

Same bro started chasing the dragon at 15 glad I kicked that shit while i did
Funny story... when my youngest son was about 4 months old, we were visiting my brother and his family one day. My brother had been downloading some music. This was back in the Napster days. Anyway, my son was already starting to cut his first tooth and was getting super fussy. While waiting for the Tylenol to kick in, my brother starts playing this song he had just downloaded. As soon as the drum part started, my son immediately stopped crying and got this dazed, almost mesmerized look on his face! Once the song was over, he started crying again. We replayed the song and he stopped crying! Basically, until he was about 3 years old, this song would immediately calm him if he was being fussy! The interesting part is, my son is now a drummer and this was one of the first songs he learned to play when we bought him his first kit, when he was 14. He's in college now and still plays it occasionally. So any new parents out there with a fussy baby, give it a try! 😂😂😂
This is way too cool...
You guys fused the metal with his bones.

My dad was born in 1964 and grew up on 70's and 80's hard rock bands like KISS, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, and Van Halen (probably his favorite). When the 90's came along, he liked a few grunge bands like Alice in Chains and Nirvana, but mostly, I remember him thinking the music from that period and onward sucked. In 2002, this song hit the local rock station, and he loved it. To this day he'll ask me, "What's that one song that goes, 'I'm not the one who's so far away?' I like that song." He was recently diagnosed with tonsil cancer and is currently going through radiation treatment. The doctors say he's got a great chance of beating the disease, and he's fighting like hell. Every time I hear this song, I think of him.
Hope for a healthy and speedy recovery.
Hopefully he'll Smack that cancer in its ass. Prayers 🙏🙏🙏
May Apollo guide and protect him and you and heal you guys 💗💗

Or whichever Deity or deities you pray to 💗💗💗

Hope he beats it.

I’ll never forget seeing Godsmack live. The concert ended and the house lights came on. Everyone got up and started filling out. I looked at my girlfriend and said no way they don’t play Voodoo. To all the clean folks who came here to write about their former addiction..the song's not about drugs - that 'snake bite' was a paternity test, not a syringe.

I'll never forget how I discovered Godsmack! I was 40; my daughter 15. She was playing MTV and this video came on just as I headed upstairs and the drum beat dragged me back down going who is that? Her jaw utterly dropped. Her Mom was stuck on '70's soft rock and she wasn't sure she was seeing this reality. I love this song!

I used this song to get my son hooked on Alternative music. Now he likes FFDP, Three Days Grace, Corey Taylor's stuff, Nirvana, Metallica, and a lot more. Still working on my daughter though. Their mom can't stand any of it. She yells at them if she hears it. She says it's the devils music. I told her to tell her mom that parent's used to say the same about Elvis. She hasn't used that one yet, but it isn't going to be good when she does. Their mom says that it's my fault that they do what they do, and act the way they do. They are just rebelling against her. I'm not the one who's so far away
When I feel the snake bite enter my veins
Never did I want to be here again
And I don't remember why I came
Candles raise my desire
Why I'm so far away
No more meaning to my life
No more reason to stay
Freezing feeling, breathe in, breathe in
I'm coming back again
I'm not the one who's so far away
When I feel the snake bite enter my veins
Never did want to be here again
And I don't remember why I came
Hazing clouds rain on my head
Empty thoughts fill my ears
Find my shade by the moon light
Why my thought aren't so clear
Demons dreaming, breathe in, breathe in
I'm coming back again

When I feel the snake bite enter my veins
