This is one of the most common questions asked. Should you get a new HSS Model Honda snowblower or keep your old one. Here, I tried to explain the pros and cons. Please check out our Facebook group also for everything Honda snowblower related called HONDA SNOWBLOWER ENTHUSIASTS. sorry for the low audio. if anyone knows of a good external mic for an Android phone, please let me know.

Great info in the video. I am a newbie to a HSS928. I'm glad I had it to do cleanup work through this Truckee winter. I plan on using the info in your videos to keep the thing running a good long time! Appreciate you taking the time and effort to make the channel and community here.

Have you had other Honda's in the past? If so what do you like or dislike about your HSS928 compared to the older Honda's? Thanks.

Good overview, I have had my HSS724ATD for 3 years going on the 4th winter season. It's been a great snowblower. I would highly recommend paying for a Honda machine over everything else.

On the fence about upgrading to the HSS1332. The ease of use has a strong draw, at my age that is only going to be more so as my remaining years go by. But I live remote and it is a big deal to get one of these to a dealer for warranty work. My old HS928 is 10 years old and in great shape. I totally rely on this machine to keep my 220 feet clear and it has never once let me down. I could keep both, but my wife already is trying to say the old one has to go if I upgrade. I can figure out a workaround for her where I can keep them both but that comes with its own costs as well!

You'll love the newer machine but you may be right about warranty work. I HIGHLY recommend you keep the older 928. at whatever cost , haha. Many new owners wished they kept their older machines for a back up. I have several living in the Sierra where we get the BIG snow. Can't fool around with breakdowns.

Your videos of the HS line has taken much of the mystery out of servicing my 928 myself, and I have had mine inside my shop the last week really looking everything over and am relieved to see it is still in fine shape. The bigger machine, the HSS 1332 will be great out on the main driveway where moving a lot of snow in a hurry is most important, whereas around the house the smaller 928 can fit between the cars, and has plenty of guts to take care of the roof snow that usually slides off later after the storm turns into rain. I will keep it outside under a covered area and the 1332 in the shop where it can dry out between uses which should keep the moisture out of the contacts of all the electrics. Thanks much for all the work you have put into this channel. Nice hobby biz you have going there! Best to you and Happy Holidays!! @@HondaSnowblowerEnthusiasts311

@@HondaSnowblowerEnthusiasts311 I’ve made similar videos as well. I do love the new Honda HSS1332ATD I bought for $3699+ tax. I haven’t used it enough to say how much of a beast it is (largest storm was 10-12”). It’s very easy to move around when not on, turning is a breeze, auger height adjustment is great, compared to the old model hs1332. I do worry about the finger trigger chute control as I hear it can stick. Hopefully they did not make it super cheap quality, but has only been out for since 2015? We shall see

@@appleztoorangeshow many hours do you have on the HSS1332ATD? At less than 50 hrs my transmission died on me, fortunately I still had a little bit of time left on my warranty, the shop just replaced the transaxle for a new one, seemingly a newer design given the different part number. Other than that it's a great machine, I just hope this new transaxle holds up seeing they are about a $900 part. No idea why they decided to put the breather down low risking getting hydraulic fluid on it and no separate hydraulic fluid reservoir or ability to drain and replace the fluid if needed without much work or discomfort.

Hi Anthony, I now have both these snowblowers in your video. Another Pro for the HSS1332A is the taller handlebars. I'm 6'5 and the taller bars makes it easier on my back.

If you want to turn right using the steering trigger while simultaneously rotating the chute with your left hand, will the machine stop moving as soon as you move your left hand off the handle?
I am thinking about buying a Honda but I need to be able to turn and rotate the chute simultaneously without stopping.
My Troy-Bilt 30" has a thumb operated joystick for the chute. I don't have to move my hand or stop every time I need to turn right while rotating the chute.

    • @HondaSnowblowerEnthusiasts311

left hand operates the drive handle. so the machine can not move anyway unless you tie it down which is not advisable for safety reasons.

Can you tell me the model number of the engine on the hss1332? I know it’s a gs390, but there are a number of different variants of the 390. For example…gx390k1 lx2 or gx390k1 ed6, etc. I am going to swap my gx270 from my hss928awd for a 390, and I want to make sure I’m going in the right direction. Thanks a bunch, and thanks for the content!

sorry do not know. not sure what you mean but i would never put a 270 with a 32 inch bucket. not enough power. I go the other way. I put a 28 inch bucket on a 1132-1332 and make a monster out of it. maybe ask on the facebook group of the same name.

Heard Honda is getting out of making snowblowers. Been looking for a 1332ATD locally and dealers are saying this may be the last year they are for sale. Have you heard anything like this?

You mentioned in your video that a dealer should set up the machine. I just purchased the HSS1332 from a Honda authorized dealer but they send them out for service if it requires. I received the unit in the crate and set it up myself following the instruction manual. What is it that a dealer does that can not be done at home by someone who is very mechanically proficient?

some of the new machines have tweaked buckets. check yours against a flat surface. we have a video from a dealer on how to remedy on the Facebook group.
