im in. a new Direct entry msn program because the program is new the program have so many issues. im in the second cohort to of my program. i can relate to everything you said
Hi there! Thanks so much for doing such a video! I have a question if it’s okay to ask, how many times a week did you go to clinicals? Or overall, how often are the in-person classes ? Thanks again!
There weren't any in-person classes, but there were two times we had to go to Elmhurst for in-person training (once at the beginning, and once at the end of the program, for 3-4 days each time). The clinicals, you can arrange with your assigned clinical supervisor according to their work schedule. Each semester had increasingly more clinical hours required. If you space them out, even at the most demanding semester, I only had like 2 days of clinicals per week.
Classes were on Wednesdays, usually afternoons/evenings. Clinical hours grew more and more as we got closer to graduating, and could be scheduled with your clinical preceptor (like a nurse supervisor).
Not sure if you'll see this but I'm SO grateful you made these. Despite the flaws, I'm still interested & wondering if you think I could still go while living in New Orleans? Would I have to travel there? Or have clinicals in my area?
Sorry, it looks like Louisiana is not one of the states that Elmhurst works with. Try googling online ABSN programs in Louisiana to find something similar.
Hi Abby. Now, that you are out working as a nurse, do you feel like the program prepared you? I am applying to the absn at elmhurst. It seems like a better fit for me than other programs in the Chicago area, but I’m not finding many reviews from former students. Did any of your former cohorts have issues finding RN jobs at Chicago area hospitals? Thanks!!
No one had trouble finding a job. I don't think most nurses feel prepared for their first nursing job, but Elmhurst did just as good as any other school.

Glad you enjoyed it! I mostly liked Elmhurst, but there were just a few things.

Yeah, I think they will eventually work out all these things, but it's just because it's so new.

That’s crazy watching a RUclipsr from Elmhurst, makes me feel things can be possible
You can do it!
Did you go to the one in Illinois and did you go for Bsn or msn and was it all online?
Yes, it's in Illinois, and it was mostly online. I had to go in person twice, and then also in person clinicals at various places.
@@NurseAbby are you happy so far in nursing
Yep! It's a lot of paperwork, but worth it ❤️
