CINCINNATI (John Lomax) We are nearing the end of a sort of King Records month.There have been activities across the city in honor of King's 70th anniversary.The recording studio was in Evanston, but records made there were heard all around the world.King records is gone now, but Local 12 anchor John Lomax shows us how its impact is still with us and how this groundbreaking and innovative company was So Cincinnnati.

and because the Avondale Ice Company was next door (at the actual 1540 Brewster Avenue address) and Nathan took it over, King Records was also called "the Icehouse"

first time I've ever heard about Syd asking Otis Williams about Please......the story I've always heard was that producer Ralph Bass challenging Nathan to put the record out in Atlanta, Nathan countered that he was putting it out nationally to prove what a piece of sh-- he thought the record was and besides, Syd Nathan was known for his own opinion, his word to be law..so I could be wrong but it's hard for me to imagine Syd asking Otis Williams his opinion of Please Please Please
