This guy is about the only decent pinball reviewer on youtube that hasn't sold out to the manufacturers so his reviews are exactly what he thinks and that's rare these days.

Terrible looking game. Artwork for the Translite pro is up there with The Shadow in terms of terrible use of movie assets. Playfield looks like an early 2000's stern back when they used Photoshop and the equivalent of image shack to build the playfield. For me 50% of the decision to buy a game is based on aesthetics and this does nothing for me. Toy Story was giving far harder critique than this. I think the love of Bond is making people ignore the glaring issues.
We also had legit quality images to work with on Toy Story. These are not legit images.
Hm. Not sure if it looks that horrible. It just looks kind of vintage to me. But then again, it’s also a vintage theme. 🤷♂️
I am a stern insider and received no email update about the delayed release. Stern really needs to put some effort into streamlining releases, improving their insider experience, and communication therein. I was ready to purchase but nothing. I think these are growing pains for a company trying to learn how to capitalize on marketing etc while brining new people to the field.
Stern Insider and Distributor are two different things. I believe that notification was sent out to Distro's. (I could be wrong) The wording seems to be directed towards them though.
IMHO, as a relatively new pin collector with a professional history as CEO of $1.2B budget company, Stern is, overall, a very poorly managed company. My experiences with Stern, their distributors, & Insider have all been disappointing. All indicators of a poorly run family company.

Yeah, this is terrible. I'm sure it'll sell horribly and Stern will have to reduce the price of the Pro, Premium, and Limited just to keep them from piling up in the warehouse. Ya, right. I'm sure the price of the topper will have to come down under $500 as well. /sarcasm.

What?? No Octopussy reference in the Bond Pin???? How dare they! (I know that was Roger Moore era...but come on, its a cool name!). I'm more of a fan of Roger Moore, I guess since that was my era of watching as a kid through teen age years.

Kudos to you, Cary, for maintaining optimism about what seems, IMHO, to be lackluster artwork. I’m so old that I actually have all of Sean Connery’s Bond movies on Laser Disk, with original artwork from the movie posters. On the pro, it doesn’t appear that there is any rhyme or reason regarding placement of the illustrations, but I may be wrong. If the LE isn’t 100% focused on Goldfinger- a missed opportunity?

When I heard Stern was making a 007 pinball, I wasn’t expecting just the Sean Connery films, I thought they would do the recent ones like Daniel Craig but this was a nice surprise. The artwork could look better hopefully but I really want to see the playfield and the gameplay.

Can confirm the last poster in the back right corner is Thunderball. It also coincides with the six films used on the playfield that Sean Connery starred in (Not counting Never Say Never Again as that one wasn't canon to the 007 lineage)
Love the Goldeneye N64 pause music in the background. I know there's controversy about the art, but I don't mind it. I wouldn't say it's amazing, but not bad. Some on Pinside say it's too crowded with all the faces, but I think the Bond girls, villians, and movies are going to give it some great modes. Also, the lit-up image makes me think that there is a lot of potential for some spectacular light shows and with all the music in the Bond world, they would have to try really hard to make this game sound bad. I agree with you about Bond holding a pinball. That would have been awesome.

Well reasoned and fair response. I personality like the retro backglass look, but I can see your point. GOOD CALL on the thunderbirds comps being overblown. Excited to see real playfield pics.
Art looks bad imo. So many better themes out there. I am buying Godzilla Premium next - zero regrets. Great content! Thank You
I’m still trying to get over them not including Octopussy!!! All kidding aside, I’m sure it will kick major ass despite the artwork which I’m sure looks much better in person
Actually for a 007 pinball, I really hoped Stern would cover all the actors who played Bond, not cover all the films in the series but just focus on the best ones from each actor, George Lazenby should be easy because he only did one. But still I’m okay with just the Connery films.
It's hard to come back from Zombie Yeti artwork to this. Code will still determine if the game is fun or not. Turns out you *really do* need to play a game before you decide if it's fun or not :)
Must see the all package first, sometimes the art although not amazing can be cohesive with the display animations, music, call outs, etc.
Meanwhile I’m eager to see how manufacturers will strategize more high prices for lot less.
I would like to think that they would put Herculean effort to amaze but…

Me too, but let’s me get the jp I have on order paid for, and maybe get a Godzilla….. and my kids love toy story, so probably going to get it at some point

I'm not a big fan of the artwork but the game looks awesome and even if the artwork is awesome I would still own it. Just won't put it on the end of my games and display it as an art piece like I have with many of my other stern games. :) Love stern games though.

There are allot of games that I like that the art is mediocre at best. I am not a huge Bond fan but what I have seen of the playfield has me excited to play it.. looks like allot of fun shots and neat mechs and it looks like it's gonna be a blast to play. With that b2ing said let's hope the Jetpack bond mech is more reliable than the helicopter on Rescue 911!.. But I can't wait to get an opportunity to play it

I thought this would involve all the Bonds like Doctor Who. And I thought I would buy a Premium for the first time. But I think the artwork sucks and the playfield is a mess. I’d rather spend that kind of cash to get a Tron or AC/DC.
What did they do with the games at the European show? Take them off the floor? I'm surprised more pictures haven't shown up if they are still in a public space.
I would assume they had them removed. No way we wouldn't have gameplay footage by now.

Stern has Trolled all of us, No Way they can be this stiupid to think anyone setting up that show wasn’t going to take photos, especially after the long wait for another pinball machine!!! Playfield could be a hoax also, It takes 10 minutes to set up a pinball machine NIB, why wouldn’t they wait till during the show? Games should have been locked in a wooden/metal box. If all of this is true, Wow is Stern Sloppy!!!

I just think it’s strange they focused on just one Bond. Seems like they are only catering to one portion of the Bond fan base. Connery was the best one tho

@@purdue98 ya think stern always looking more at 50+ age range so don't think RE is too popular. Think Jaws would still be an awesome theme. Been rumored for years.
I really like the playfield. Reminds me of older machines like Lethal Weapon and Last Action Hero.

I don’t feel sorry for stern at all, the games the have out r still selling, way beyond their manufacturing capacity. Godzilla is impossible to get, Jurassic park is 6 months out for my order, and I bet the music ones r still taking back orders

I don't care, the AtGames Legends Pinball looks ugly on the sides but you're not looking at them while you're playing anyway.
Pics are kind of a letdown, but most games always look better in person.

What is sad here you're TRYING TO FREAKING hard to to defend the ugliest game we've ever seen from Stern. You wasted NO TIME trashing Toy Story you must have a soft spot for Stern. I had my son look at this game and he said the artwork is bad, and the game itself looks like it was made 30 years ago. Furthermore why isn't anyone talking about the real obvious... NOT MANY people ALIVE today EVER saw this movie in the theaters. James Bond from 60 years ago I don't think so... if you're 70 years old you would have been 10 when this movie came out. No one cares about this theme at all or this outdated version of James Bond. With the price increase, weak theme, and awful artwork this game has bomb written all over it. Look its okay to call out Stern when they drop the ball the same as it is to praise them when they hit a home run. Rush was a dud, as is James Bond. Simple as that.
Pump your brakes, kid. Sean Connery is a national treasure.
I already stated my biased towards the art style, and reserved my complete judgement until we get the proper visuals. I once trashed art before the offical release images of a game - then I had to make a follow up video on how I was wrong. I would prefer to not do that again. lol.
Nowadays you can recreate a voice in AI saying whatever you want. With permission from the estate it could be done. And yeah the movie poster collage side art sucks.
