I feel bad for that Round 5 game as a Chaos Player. They definitely realized they didnt have any way to deal with armor at all. I find Abbadon with 10 Legionnaires in a Landraider better than the slow 10 man Termie blob
About game 2, tank commanders cannot order each other. List seems fishy. Also Mordian, thanks to you I started my own (traitorous) guard army. Their true finest !
I saw someone else question this in a different video, but it never got a reply to my knowledge. The strategy with Mech Guard seems to be to move the Chimeras onto objectives so they can moveblock enemies and absorb incoming fire, but if they get destroyed then the infantry pour out and hold the objective anyway and it’s no big deal. But, aren’t units automatically battle shocked when their transport is destroyed and therefore they wouldn’t hold the objective?
Assuming the transport dies in the enemy turn, the unit inside is only auto-battleshocked until the controlling player’s next Command Phase. Those models may need to take another battleshock test if they’ve taken casualties but otherwise they’re back to being fine and can hold the objective during that Command Phase. Pretty sure that’s how it works.
I’m playing Guard in a crusade campaign. I’m basically going full mechanized with the exception of taking 3 enginseers. I decided to not take any infantry and just go full tanks/artillery and sentinels. Are infantry/chimeras essential, especially in crusade where you don’t worry about secondaries?
Think they overestimated Illuminor Szeras' durability a bit. Describing him as a pseudo c'tan is a bit of an overstatement. Don't get me wrong ... he's very durable. With his 2+ 4++ 4+++ he's roughly the equivalent of a t8 2+ 4++ 18 wound model. So depending on weapons shot at him he's more durable than a Dorn or Tyrannofex in some circumstances. Realistically less so though and I don't even think anyone would describe a Dorn or T-Fex as "pseudo C'tan". However, that's nowhere near the maximal theoretical effective wounds of a C'tan. Those are t11 2+ 4++ with up to 36 effective wounds (realistically less due to uneven damage numbers and melta, but just to serve as an outline of how much more durable C'tan are). Interestingly enough, if all the shooting/melee is strength 4 or lower and d1, they are exactly equivalent in durability (at that point they are both basically immortal though unless the shooting has also loads of lethal and loads of ap). Under realistic circumstances however, C'tan are just miles beyond Illuminor Szeras.
The Chris Protocol is how you earn medals.

Drive them down men, drive them! Commenting for the Emperor and dodging the Commissariat.
Abadon killing the dreadnaught and it blowing up in his face was awesome what an explosion 💥
Mech Guard! This has been my new favorite style 🐙🐙🐙🐙🐙
Congrats on the stellar performance!
Please do more of these doubles events, this was my favourite or second favourite tournament reps you've done ❤

Love these vids
11:26 there is just too much mud on those votan vehicles. Especially since the rest of the vehicle is basically clean
mechanized infantry core? I LOVE THE CORE! Every day in the core is a day on the farm...
every pay a fortune, Every meal a banquet, every drill a parade! I LOVE THE CORE

New video, nice.
36:27 I thought Tank Commanders can't get orders from each other anyway, since they're not Squadron units.
Slip of the tongue, I did not order the tank commanders at all during the event!
Amazing!!! I would love to know what place you finished in. Going 4-1 is a great result! Well done!
I'd love to see an infantry/artillery guard and elite custodes or space marine doubles.

Why would that guy in round 2 take 3 tank Commanders and 1 demolisher. Where do those orders go?

What was your teams placing?

According to google in Schaumburg Illinois
Tournys are ruining the game. The rules in 10th are absolute trash just to cater to torneyfigs.
