I live in US and have Starlink in Jamaica. Because my house in JA does 17:31 not have a physical address (with street number) I struggled to complete the setup. Later I learned that I needed to use a nearby popular town as my address and that is how I finally completed the setup. This may be useful to your viewers. Keep up the great work
Thanks for this information much needed trust me this completely slipped mi to put in the video but it’s a very important point your making. Imma pin this comment hopefully the viewers can see your input. Respect 🫡 hope u subscribed!
@@REALTEVINCARTER yes I’m a subscriber thanks
@@REALTEVINCARTER I’ll also add that my house is in Westmoreland in a town called Bath so I ended up using a nearby area called Strathbogie (PA) as my physical address. Thanks again
You're supposed to use your GPS coordinates. You can get it from Google maps. I realized after I used a nearby location in Manchester.
Did you guys buy the hardware overseas or in Jamaica?
Got my starlink a week ago n getting some great speed between 100 to 280 Mbps. Loving it....
I need them to reach above 500mb then I get interested as Digicel offers 250 up 250 down starling gives like 280max and about 14 down that's bad. So like the improvement on starlink but they need to dish out more speeds. Digicel charge us double the price they charge .
I live in the hills where there is no line internet, so I am grateful for these speeds n price monthly doesn't look bad.
My speed in Westmoreland is around 100 Mbps down. Where in JA are you located?
Excellent!
My startlink provides up to 498 Mbps
😂😂yuh creating weather...a dying😂😂😂. Thanks for the response.
😂😂 Tency have the man a carry buckets of water just to prove a point… the internet performance is still good during heavy winter, personally know a few persons in Canada who uses it.
You’re welcome😂😂
From Barbados and because of your 2 videos i ordered my starlink just this minute, keep up the good job bro

Great video bro, your last video persuaded me to get mine last month and I've been enjoying the service so far, my only concern is the heat on the router but I think that is normal since its powering the dish as well. #NoMoreCornwallCommunications lol
Congrats! Yeah, mine gets hot too but it's not causing any real trouble so it should be good.
@REALTEVINCARTER Oh okay, that's good to know

Wow didn’t know it can be used for home....Currently using Starlink for RV full time camping... you can simply use a pole, it don’t have to be super high. RV users take them down and put them up frequently.
Great tip! Will probably do an outdoor video with it!

Ya di better one lol.. when I just got it I was getting at best 250.. these days it's 100 at best... still miles better than what I had.. but still lol

Me nuh have Starlink but the video was really informative to the point that I now know that I have options aside from Digi/Flow..
we need a different option fi JPS too
You have an old system the new modem has land ports version 4 a think it is, even the dish is a gen 4, But funny enough I don't know which version they would send us if we order now I might just order to test. But that roof thing seems like a task.
Good to know, will probably do another update video on that.
lol you ARE ENTERTAINING bro
Thanks!
I know you uploaded 3 day ago but I didn’t hear you say anything about the solar flare, did it have any impact on your system?
No actually, everything was operating as normal.
Nice video bro. Blessings, we share the same surname fam, I am subscribing to the channel.
Nuff respect G, thanks for the subscribe support each one counts trust mi
@@REALTEVINCARTER Yeah fam that's for sure. You can check out my channel too. Respect.
ONE OPS NATION!!
Yeaow Bro..... I am in Falmouth and will be getting StarLink soon. Can I do the order from Canada then bring it down to be setup in Jamaica?
You should be able to but what you would have to worry about is handling customs when you're coming in because Starlink would handle that side of it.
Bro I want to know when I get the starlink I can try it at where I am currently staying but I live in the west and thats where it will base if I activate it here will it still work when I go to west ? I really look forward your reply
Yeah it will definitely work I see no reason it shouldn’t, Ive been to events in jamaica where the have a starlink just on the ground getting internet plus Ive seen videos where people drive around in a RV with it too
Router bro, not modem. And you don't have to run it through a pipe because its a shielded CAT 6 cable. And the reason why the dish is pointing towards your mango tree in this case is because the dish mush have a view of the northern sky in order for you to be connected and based on the position of your dish, i can see you are experiencing some amount of obstruction there. I would advise you to trim that mango tree for a better view of the sky and you will start experiencing down speed in the 300Mbps and down time of up to 50Mbps. I'm a technician and i have been using Starlink well over a year with zero issues. The most relaible internet service one can have in Jamaica. Also, it is good to inform customers or prospective customers of the incredible filtering system that the router has, where you can block adult and harmful content on the net and can be password protected. Also, by default the heating system is turned on, on the device so i would suggest you turn it off as we are already in a tropical climate and do not need to pre-heat the dish. There are much more i could say but for another time. Good video for someone who is not tech savy.
Thanks my G and also thanks for the information your providing trust it will help a lot of ppl because I didn’t knw I didn’t have to run the wire in pipes I thought I had to protect it from the weather hope the bit of info can help someone else too….respect, hope u subscribe 🫡
@@REALTEVINCARTER You are welcome and yes, I will subscribe.
@@REALTEVINCARTER Running the wire trough conduit pipes are still recommended because it provide an extra stage of protection from the Jamaica Sun..... I have seen CAT6 cable get eaten by the Jamaica sun after a few years of being exposed to it. For a cheap protection as a Schedule 40 PVC pipe, its worth the extra peace of mind especially when you dont want to be going up on the roof to check every year. Extra protection is always better just in case.
It’s recommended to protect outdoor cables regardless of being shielded as environmental conditions can still affect the cable overtime. The angle of the dish is dependent on your region due to the closest satellite in low earth orbit.
The dish is just acting as a transceiver so the little blockage by the mango tree will not impact performance. I think what most persons should be aware of is that if they add a third party router in the setup it should be able to provide up to 1Gbps LAN ports and try to stick to only Cat6 and higher cabling.
@@KarimDMan so did you not know that over a number of years your cables are supposed to be charged? Next thing, shielded cables have 3 layers of protection and a PVP pipe will only add additional heat to a cable already transmitting heat. The cables used by Starlink are weather protected.
That data connector is a thunderbolt4, you might be able to use a thunderbolt USB-C dongle that’s a fraction of the cost.
I didnt know about this, definitely something Im ganna look into Thanks 🙏. rememeber to sub road to 1000!!!
We have Hurricane though DWL!
Well we haven’t had one in a while and let’s hope not😂
How much u paid at DHL, any hidden additional fees (like customs fee)?
Good question. There are no hidden fees or anything no customs fee no delivery fee, once you pay for your device on the Starlink website that’s it , you just go to DHL and pick it up. Hope this helps #remembertosubscribe 😅
What's with the Washing Machine Flexible Pipe?
😂#innovative
Well if u needed support for connectivity issues, how would you access it without Internet 🤔
😂 drop on a flow or digicel 3 day plan on you phone and reach out, I heard starlink coming with a telecommunications service so IDK, might help too. good question though. remember to sub
Can the hardware be bought overseas and take to Jamaica?
Yes
Can buy it and bring down or buy it and ship it to a shipping company
@@James20004 where to buy it online?
@@James20004 ok thanks
Boy me get my own starlink all wen me give my neighbor them it nuh affect me at all afi get Jamaica biggest network out the door

Rain is not an issue, ive gotten heavy rain and as long as my power doesnt go out i know i'm good cellular service might gone but i still have internet
Starlink is the best
No joke 😎 #subscribe
What is shipping like to get it here?
Shipping is pretty easy.. they ship it you collect it at DHL no extra payment, customs fee or clearance fees. #subscribe we on the road the 1000 subscribers!!
yo if the monthly bill ever reach $5000, just know i dont know who is flow anymore!.
I think $5000 would be a great amount to pay I’d be okay with that 😅 #roadto1ksubs
whats the up and download speed ?
11:11 Speed isnt bad, I usually get between 100-400 MBPS, kinda depends on your environments #subscribe
u mentioned the cost to bring it in?
Theres no cost to ship it or clear it when it gets here, you do a one time payment when you are ordering and thats it, they ship it you pick it up and install it, hope this helps. #subscribe1Kjourney
How fast is this in JA?
It can be anywhere Between 100-300 mbs which is not bad compared to other internet services
How can i buy it where please
Starlink.com and choose the location you are
@@REALTEVINCARTER bro I did and didn't get a tracking number how did u got your tracking number I purchased it yesterday didn't get any tracking number
@@Krazy_rulyashthey will email it to you
So your actual response to weather was not right. I figuring the person was asking about grey, cloudy over casted sky
Older satellite technology is easily affected by overcasted skies. Starlink dish is using a different method of transmitting and receiving.
i get 320Mbps where i am in Jamaica
What do u use
What is shipping price like?
that water bucket tho
😂
How much is the monthly bill?
when I ordered in 2023 it was $8,450 JMD, currently in year 2024 I am paying $7,000 Flat monthly #subscriberoadto1K

Thanks I’ll keep that in mind..hope u subscribed 🫡
I want to know if it better than flow 500mbs cause that a just what 100mbs to 280 do you download anything an see it downloading that fast 💨 like try a game are video download an check how long it take
I Honestly cant say if it is better than flow because flow doesn’t operate where I live sadly, which for me makes starlink immediately better but thats just me though, I just think this is mostly for people who are in a remote area that flow or digicel doesnt access, I was using cornwall communications for internet because they were the only ones who would access where i live and I was only getting 5-7 mbps so i amd definitely now complaining now, hope this helps remember to subscribe we on our way to 1K
I get up to 498 Mbps
yooo 😳thats neat!!, can you say what parrish this is?
can u imagine if when him did a create the weather.... If him did Tek 2 pot, lik Dem together fi create the thunder!!!!??? 😂😂😂😂😂 18:11
