I lost my job last week, so I spent most of the week making this video instead of doing anything else productive lol :P Like & comment to make me feel better. this show's how much potential the game actually has. Just imagine all the wacky things you can do when they add more content, like making lenin the king of switzerland or something
That should already be possible, just really hard. I think Lenin is one of the agitators in VotP. You'd have to make him the leader of the trade unions, then pull off a really tight balancing act between landowners and trade unions to make both *very* close in clout. Keep trade unions in the lead, but by as small a % as possible. Make sure they're as happy as can be so that when you start the vote for monarchy they don't leave the government. You'll have to get pretty lucky with your RNG, getting other IG leaders to support monarchy would also help quite a bit so the landowners have some backup. Essentially your win state is creating a scenario where trade unions are the most powerful IG, but the rest of your IGs combined are strong enough to push monarchy into practice against their will, but then because trade unions are the strongest they *become* the monarchs, making King Lenin of Switzerland a reality. Honestly though I think in order to get and maintain the balance between landowners and trade unions you'd have to absolutely destroy your economy and laws, and you'll literally never have a stable government because your 2 strongest parties are directly opposed to each other and hate basically every law the other one supports.
I’ve got an idea (cribbed from lady saffron) to make a mod that adds an old napoleon 1 moving to Mexico and coming back, only he’s like, nahutal and practises human sacrifice :P
This is a great video, and would love to see you continuing this by having French America finally take revenge on the British. I mean, Waterloo? How dare they?! They must pay for their crimes! (This coming from an English person about 400 years later. Whoops.)
@@Aldrahill True, but think of this from a roleplaying perspective. You're a Bonaparte, you were told the great tales of your French predecessor, Napoleon and how he united the French under one banner. He was a nightmare for the Austrians, The Egyptians and Prussia. France was THE superpower in the world and could have been the next great empire after Rome. Then the British ruined everything. They killed Napoleon, they dismantled the French Empire and worst of all, The British built an empire surpassing that of the French. When you're in a position to finally have your ultimate revenge in the name of your family, you don't pass that up.
Also the Second French Intervention in Mexico is just the goofiest war in history. The holiday Cinco De Mayo is about a battle during that war. Now no one in mexico celebrates it and its become like a Mexican Saint Patricks day in the US.
10:00 the southern planters don't like monarchy cause if I remember correctly they have an exclusive ideology to them where they support more of an oligarchy instead of a monarchy
If I do this playthrough I’m definitely gonna play with a mod that changes the name of Monarchist America bc the base game one isn’t great. If they didn’t wanna do the easy thing and name it American Empire they could have done something like Federal Kingdom of America or something.
I'm not certain but I think the gimmick is that America always keeps the 'USA' abbreviation with their name. So for example communists are the "United Syndicates of America" regardless of whether or not they're actually syndicalist by laws. That's the reasoning behind "United Sovereign Archduchy" even though it is an abomination of a name.
Well Napoleon III had what we can call two phase in his reign the first was a autocratic ruler just after he took over but in his later years he was moving to a more liberal stance the so called liberal empire with the slow restauration of democratic institutions but then the franco-prussian war happpened and the rest is history.
You should make him Emperor of Mexico, it is what he wanted anyways. But instead of giving it to the Habsburgs, he takes it for himself. In fact i do believe had he kept the title for himself, they may actually have kept Mexico. As he was arrogant enough to have sent the entirety of the French Military to keep his new title. Since he only sent a few Regiments to protect Maximilian, and the Regiments spent more time pillaging and massacring civilians than actually fighting. Which just caused further unrest and also support towards the French Crown to diminish even further.
Story time. So I was playing with France and I was roleplaying a bunch. As in trying to recreate the Historical French empire. Well 1861 comes around and Im going to "Commit to the bit" and launch an invasion to puppet Mexico. At this point I have a 25 infamy and a Britain rival. This mostly meant that we fought a bunch of skirmishes in the Sahara which dragged on until a white peace. Thinga go as youd expect and I kick the living day lights out of mexico and capitulate them fast. But Britain and I drag on and on and on. Well behold, the US starts the 5th or 6th Mexican war while Im still at war with Britain. Its considered rude to be in two wars at once so Mexico is automatically independent because I couldnt join the war against the United States. In the end I was happy because I stuck to the bit and bugged the game into recreating history. The task had failed sucessfully.
This was hilarious. I couldnt stop laughing! Really Louis wouldnt be able to run for president because he wasnt born in the US. But damn it he would sure try.
I really enjoy this video but it cuz be great do the same process with Norton instead of Napoleon. Besides this video proves why its one of my favorites games and if it could be more, the thing is this game is hardly for the economy that i ve never got the idea how to play USA or other country without screwing all the dang country :')

this video honestly makes me want to kind of get the game. seeing all the stuff about how bad it was and everythign kind of turned me off but it actually looks pretty cool with the stuff you can do. game has a lot of potential its a shame paradox always releases games unfinished and has to build them up with copious amounts of dlc
That does make sense! But I was trying to increase petit bourgeoisie faction, and capital gives 25% extra political strength to pops in that state, so I promoted shopkeepers and clerks in New York :)
@@AldrahillAlso, now that I’m thinking about it, it’s Ironic you used Secret Police considering Charles J.
