I now START with my thumbnail and title. It has been a game changer, because I think, 1- will people click on this? 2- what will people who click on this thumbnail EXPECT? And it helps my direction and execution so much! Nothing annoys me more than when I feel misled by a thumbnail … and obviously thumbnails are the entry point.

Ok wait 😅 I’ve watched videos where ppl are saying thumbnails are dead and videos that blow up look like screenshots from the video. And I myself have noticed that these basic ass thumbnails have like 50-100K views!

Those are DEFINITELY the exceptions to the rule - even RUclips REGULARLY talks about how important a good/strategic thumbnail is
Imma guess that even in those cases they went through their video and handpicked the screenshot.

I think maybe you have too much going on in the thumbnails - they’re too busy and hard to read or figure out what’s going on
