This is a small lake inside a small town, they start in a river called Ljusnan and take a very narrow stream that leads into that small lake called Kyrksjön (=Churchlake) the church with a separate clocktower can be seen between 1:48 - 2:22, the small lake has some reqreational asphalt trails for walking and jogging arround it and there is some soccerfields, baseballfield and a seasonal playground and a combined festivity and amusmentpark, at the end they stop close to a small beach where it's also a skatepark, the town is called Ljusdal (=Lightvalley) that has arround 10 000 inhabitants but is a center in a rural area with some other smaller towns arround with 3 000 - 4 000 inhabitants , I lived there by that lake between 2009-2014.

I had a belt blow up on me right after crossing a patch of open water, I knew I was on thin ice and I knew there was a another spot of open water a little ways in front of me. It was the fastest I have ever changed a belt in my life. It was the last time I messed with thin ice crossings at night or when by myself. I was in a hurry that night and the trail that looped around was an extra 20 miles vs about 1 mile of of ice crossing. But to this day I hate to think what would have happened if the belt had blown even 5 seconds before it did.

These are obviously modified to do this they got these drain plug things so if it sinks for any reason when they get it out they can drain all water out including the carb only know this from watching cboystv as they just got one
Actually running a sled on water really isnt much different then snow the water is cooling everything just like snow would and keep the track cool just like snow would

That's why you should always run a peice of rope with a jug duct taped on then at least if you go down you can just pull the jug and its easier to get it out after. Of course if you're racing watercross it's different cause you want minimal weight

So these lynx sleds are made by brp?? Skidoo.? Is that right? Are these comparable to the skidoo summit 850? What lenght of track and lug size? Pretty sweet run on the water 👍
that black-yellow lynx xtrim has 3500mm(137) track and probably 59mm lug. They are made by brp in Finland and Lynxes have fair amount of differences compared to skidoo. Main difference is the rear suspension. then there are much more small details (skis, seat,shocks etc.) that separates lynx from skidoo. Lynx also builds and designs skidoo utility sleds.
may I ask why you aren’t using the throttle smoothly? I understand two strokes aren’t meant to be kept in certain rpms for long periods of time but this seems excessive revving. I’m just curious haha is it some technique used to keep afloat? Cheers, looks fun!🍻
I think it's cavitation? No idea really... I'd guess he's just holding it pinned - and the revs vary as the load from "water friction" changes? 🤨 Please feel free to correct me lol 👍

It started many decades ago when the "cool" kids on the race sleds actually had to blip the throttle on the old carb engines with super lean jetting, from keeping it blow up. It then continued into this decade with some turbo sleds where you need to keep it in the power band. But on these direct incjected n/a engines, it's completely unneccesary and you are only wearing out the engine, clutch, belt and chain faster.

fall water would keep them pretty cool. stock sleds have cooling fins that carry coolant through the tunnel under the seat where there water splashing from the track does almost as good of a job as the snow would. id still be watching my temps though. cheers
