Yeah the 250 two-stroke Husky is quick, but try a CR500 or a KX500. I have a KX500 that I've had for many years. The power is quite a bit more than the 250, of course it's double the engine size. The 500's are really fun, tons of low rpm torque, plus a super massive mid-range burst. You do have to hang on but I guarantee that you would love it. And you need a lot of room to ride one, you run out of space really quick unless you have a nice wide open area like in your video. Preferably sand or soft terrain, because you need a little wheel spin. If it ever gets good traction while under power, it will rare up and spit you off real quick, even in 5th gear wheelies happen suddenly and unexpectedly unless you are aware of your traction and terrain. Usually not a problem as long you know the terrain you're riding on. Riding in the woods, like in your video, is just fine, the 500 behaves nicely at low rpm, lots of torque, just leave it in third gear all the time and it lugs around great, throttle control is key.
Good ol widow maker, the kx500. Absolute weapon of a bike and it takes a lot to properly ride that beast arouns trails especially if you ride 4 strokes.
Have to love 2 strokes and their powerband, 250's are pretty smooth back in the day had a CR 80 and Kx 80 2 stroke and the powerband was so evil lol....
There is such a difference in how a two stroke and a four stroke put power to the wheel. Twos are on or off and need serious rider input. I'll take a smoker over a thumper and a 125 over a 250. 125's certainly aren't rocketships but that is what makes them rocketships: as a rider you are always trying to milk that little bit more out of them. Pure fun to ride.
Nick Wallens yeah man my first bike was a kx450f then I moved down to a cr125 and haven’t looked back. A 250 like yours is a good bike Bc you will never need to buy another one.
love this video REMIND's me of when i learnt 20years ago to keep front wheel light over ruts rocks & sand etc on a cr500 2 stroke , stearing with the throttle at speed 2 STROKES RULE FOR EVER
If you're still torn between a 125 and a 250 and have been pulled the trigger yet I would definitely grab in 250. They're much easier to ride than 125 do strictly to having the same size bike with roughly twice the power and having a hell of a lot more bottom-end torque in most cases
Dang !! this is so good hearing you reactin live with no filters !! You don't seems to be jaded of things and this is so great so watch!! I swear you have the oportunity one day to ride an old scholl 2 stroke CR500 ... this is just a death machine bro' !!!! => Like + subscribed etc ....
Looooove mine. The suspension makes me a better more confident rider than any bike I've had previously. Ruts and rocks that used to cause previous bikes to deflect...I can now go through or over knowing how the bike will react.
I've been threw 5 didnt 2 strokes in my life..then I got the 17 yz250x , slapped some kx high pro taper bars on it and I never wanted a different bike since change the oil every 5 hours and I've never had one issue with it
LOL! With a whole generation growing up only riding 4-strokes, I get a real kick out of these videos of younger guys experiencing a two-stroke for the first time. The result is always the same... "Oh my gawd, oh my gawd...". LOL!
So what did you end up getting? My first dirt bike that I own is a 250 two stroke. The first dirt bike I ever rode was a kx 125cc 3yrs ago. And this was the second dirt bike I've ever owned or rode. Man it's scary fast. I LOVE IT.
Just got a kx250 as my first 2 stroke and I think it’ll be a decent bike. Has an hour on the rebuild, hour on the carb rebuild, and the forks just got rebuilt and I haven’t picked em up yet, new warp. 9 wheels, getting new wheel spacers in the mail. And might throw new clutch plates in do it runs like brand new. Should be a decent first 2 stroke
I learned to ride in the four-stroke age and went straight to the 250f. The way I learned to handle a 250 2 stroke was never let it out of the band. If you're always in the band it's actually really easy to handle.
I've always ridden 450s and bought a ktm 125 sx and can tell you it was the most fun and thrilling bike I'd ever ridden. Just a whole new buzz angry little machine that went nuts! Fast as hell I swear it felt a lot faster then the modern 250 4 strokes. Honestly 450 4 strokes are way easier to ride as are predictable etc.
I know im a bit late to the party here but i just wanted to tell you that you make every bike look so much fun, i hope i will become judt as good as you once i finally saved up to buy a dirtbike!
I have a 2004 KX250 2 stroke and a 2018 KTM 450 and both I’ve ridden in the trails and I can ride my KTM all day and I’m exhausted in like 20 minutes with my KX but my KX is 100x more fun 😁🤙🏼 BRAAAAAAAP!!!
You should try the factory 144/150 2-stroke. A perfect balance off a 125s lightness and a250s hit between the legs, while not trying to rip away from you. KTM make a 150 and TM make a 144
I'm getting my first 2 stroke soon I have been riding a 4 stroke for the longest time and ever since I heard and saw a 2 stroke I fell in love and I have done so much research since
With a 125cc you live on the pipe. Basically make that thing sing and shift gear quicker. Smoother ride but your scrambling for every inch of power. With a 250cc 2 stroke I've found that until you are more comfortable ride on the bars and learn forward more when you ride because it does have a lot of up and go. And adjust your suspension to your riding style as you see fit.
i remember the first time i rode my 95 cr250,it was on the pavement and i bliped the throttle thinking"could not be as dangerous as people say" then the front wheel went a good foot off the ground,it is a memory i will never forget.
I have a race tuned RMZ 270 with Big bore kit, Stage 2 hotcams, Vortex ignition and stainless steel valves and springs, it's good for around 50 hp at the wheel and it is still not as nuts as a 250 2 stroke!

I have a 125 and a 250 two stroke, they’re night and day. You can ride the 125 all day and not be tired arms are fine. 15 minutes on the 250, my arms are sore, the 125 is an incredible trail bike, can do so much more comfortably on it (at my skill level) the 250 I have is a rmx 250 slingshot bored to 260cc thing is a rocket
I have an 03 cr250 and it’s my first two stroke bike and I’ve had it for maybe 5 months. I don’t really get the feeling of all that power. It’s also lowered so the wheel doesn’t pop up like at all. Idk if maybe the bike is weak and needs a rebuild or what. Anyone Have any thoughts?
I'm used to my cr250r, it's... cool to drive... Then when you open the gas... when you pass the 4000rpm.. it transform into a small monster... And passed 6000.. an even bigger monster and you got to tame it.

I have a ttr 125 and next spring I'm gonna switch to my dads 97' rm 250, very excited but I need to know more knowledge on 2 strokes to maintain a mint condition for the bike
Look into Beta's 200 rr. Absolute blast and great torque, very light and flickable. Built on a 125 chassis but 200 power. Awesome technical and woods bike.
Perfect balance of weight and power in the two Stroke 250. Don't need any bigger. My son has ktm360 and it's almost too much riding all day on trails. his friends cr250 is much more manageable and I'm 6'3" & 220. For riding all day I'd pick my younger sons yz125. It has enough power to be fun but lightweight and flickable. To each their own tho. He wants a bigger bike so maybe a big bore kit is coming

Have to love 2 strokes and their powerband, 250's are pretty smooth back in the day had a CR 80 and Kx 80 2 stroke and the powerband was so evil lol....
big facts
2strokes for the win. Seems the fun factor of the power band when it kicks in is the thing. I love my 300!!
That KTM really rips!! Nice usable, smooth power band!
it's a Husqvarna not a KTM
@@mayto420 what fucking ever,it's nice!
Same thing lol literally the same thing !
I love 2 strokes so much. The most fun I've ever had on a dirtbike
love that 2-STROKE !
“The brakes are so good”
Yes that’s what it’s like to not be on a Suzuki
Shut up with your fanboying. All Bikes are beautiful. Everyone has their own taste. But stop swearing that one brand is better than another
My brakes are perfect and I ride a Suzuki rm 250 2 stroke
Nick Wallens yeah the RMs are amazing but the RMZs are not
@@jbrad2529 ahh okay lol im 15 6'0 and 145 lbs and for my first bike its a Suzuki rm 250 2 stroke people say I'm gonna kill my slef
Nick Wallens yeah man my first bike was a kx450f then I moved down to a cr125 and haven’t looked back. A 250 like yours is a good bike Bc you will never need to buy another one.
I have videos of my rides that I’ll throw on to fall asleep. The sound is primal to my brain.
I have a fully restored 1995 CR250 that I ride all the time. I love it and two strokes.
love this video REMIND's me of when i learnt 20years ago to keep front wheel light over ruts rocks & sand etc on a cr500 2 stroke , stearing with the throttle at speed 2 STROKES RULE FOR EVER
If you're still torn between a 125 and a 250 and have been pulled the trigger yet I would definitely grab in 250. They're much easier to ride than 125 do strictly to having the same size bike with roughly twice the power and having a hell of a lot more bottom-end torque in most cases
I know that feeling. Had it once the first time I rode my KX85 & again when I first rode my CR250
Dang !! this is so good hearing you reactin live with no filters !! You don't seems to be jaded of things and this is so great so watch!! I swear you have the oportunity one day to ride an old scholl 2 stroke CR500 ... this is just a death machine bro' !!!! => Like + subscribed etc ....
Husky is an AWESOME bike they are developing 2 strokes!!!
That TC250 is one of the best sounding bikes I've ever heard
Get a yz250x you won’t regret it
Looooove mine. The suspension makes me a better more confident rider than any bike I've had previously. Ruts and rocks that used to cause previous bikes to deflect...I can now go through or over knowing how the bike will react.
I've been threw 5 didnt 2 strokes in my life..then I got the 17 yz250x , slapped some kx high pro taper bars on it and I never wanted a different bike since change the oil every 5 hours and I've never had one issue with it
I have a 2017; love it.
Yup yup, just bought a 2021 YZ250X, slapped a lectron on it, some v force reeds and gnarly pipe with turbine core 2. Bike is legendary
@@michaelmorgan2360 is that tedious? Having to change oil so frequently
2 strokes and smiles go hand in hand
2 strokes and noobs looping go hand in hand.
LOL! With a whole generation growing up only riding 4-strokes, I get a real kick out of these videos of younger guys experiencing a two-stroke for the first time. The result is always the same... "Oh my gawd, oh my gawd...". LOL!
i love how it accelerates so fast it looks like your speeding up the footage
So what did you end up getting? My first dirt bike that I own is a 250 two stroke. The first dirt bike I ever rode was a kx 125cc 3yrs ago. And this was the second dirt bike I've ever owned or rode. Man it's scary fast. I LOVE IT.
You're driving this 2 Stroke better than most of the other RUclipsrs who test a 2 Stroke... You got my Sub bro
Yo thanks dude!
My first 2 stroke was a Suzuki RM370b twin shock, old school loved that bike.
A 450 4 stroke probably isnt easy to ride, those things are literally trying to murder you! Especially the modern mx bikes like the yz450f, sx450f...
Is there public bike trails like this? Or do u have to have land..?
I know im a bit late to the party here but i just wanted to tell you that you make every bike look so much fun, i hope i will become judt as good as you once i finally saved up to buy a dirtbike!
I'm an old guy, (1969 - 1978) grew up on 2 strokes: 100cc Hodaka, 125cc Penton, 250cc CZ, 400cc Maico. Nothing like it.
Inwas grinning ear to ear watching this. Cant wait to get a bike
Wicked Ride Guys, son and i have kx250 and a CR 250 waiting to ride in Great Winnipeg
Love my 250yz ... I just want to ride now
Amen, me too. For ME, almost perfect bike...except for the occasional "neutral" between 1st and 2nd.
I got a 04 kx250 that bitch is a beast!!!
You should try the factory 144/150 2-stroke. A perfect balance off a 125s lightness and a250s hit between the legs, while not trying to rip away from you.
KTM make a 150 and TM make a 144
Quick question, how old are you in this video? Cuz next spring I'll be turning 17 when I'm starting to ride a 2 stroke
It's good to see you know how to ride a 2smoke! Amazing bikes, but I'm a little too laid back for those monsters anymore
I'm getting my first 2 stroke soon I have been riding a 4 stroke for the longest time and ever since I heard and saw a 2 stroke I fell in love and I have done so much research since
Those new harmonically balanced husky/KTM 2t motors are something magical. Feels like a 125 with about as much power as God crammed in
I grew up with 2 strokes but I love the 4 stroke sound
I love my ktm 250 2 stroke always going to have fun on that bike.
I’d go for the 125 I’ve got a rm and it never disappoints plenty of power won’t stand up like that thing does
i remember the first time i rode my 95 cr250,it was on the pavement and i bliped the throttle thinking"could not be as dangerous as people say" then the front wheel went a good foot off the ground,it is a memory i will never forget.
Yz125 = 208 lbs
Yz250 = 227 lbs
Either bike is a jet powered feather. Love mine
I have a race tuned RMZ 270 with Big bore kit, Stage 2 hotcams, Vortex ignition and stainless steel valves and springs, it's good for around 50 hp at the wheel and it is still not as nuts as a 250 2 stroke!
What surprises me, being 240 lbs, was that my YZ250X ('19) has yet to feel underpowered given my weight. Torquey, snappy...fun as hell.
@@gkling33 I am about 140 lbs, so for me underpowered does not exist. I can ride an 80cc and it feels as snappy as a 125cc just shorter gears lol.
QuaussieMoto Hahahahaha! Same here. I’m 5 foot 7 , 175 pounds. At 52 years old the yz 125 is as close as I will get to space travel.
@@seller559 150lbs got a 2019 yz125 and freaking love it!! I want 2 stroke all my life!!!
I wish there was another thumbs up button for your ride on the 250 husky! You acted like a young child who just got a snow day :-) well done sir
Does anyone know where is the location of this clip recorded?
Gotta love it when you get it on the pipe
I just bought a Honda cr 250 2 Stroke and have never been so scared in my life first time riding anything ever popped 3 wheelies by accident shits so scary man send support!
When it wants to 'rip ur arms off' that is what is referred to as the Power Band that you might hear people talk about when referring two two strokes
Hey bro get u an older two stroke, I ride a modded 2003 Honda cr250r to be a freestyle bike. Older two strokes are where it’s at. The glory days
Its Zorro needs a rebuild 100 percent I have a cr 250 98 and can’t keep the front wheel down
Who says you need a rocket to go to space just get on a 2 stroke and give the clutch a feather
I'm used to my cr250r, it's... cool to drive... Then when you open the gas... when you pass the 4000rpm.. it transform into a small monster... And passed 6000.. an even bigger monster and you got to tame it.
Nothing like a 250 smoker. I’ve had a many over the years but held on to one. 98 kx250. Strongest bike I’ve ever had
Hey I got my first 250 2 stroke like 2 months ago it’s a KTM 250 XC 2006 I’m only 14
Dam im still trying to get a 250 i still have a 125
OKKIKOKKIツ nice I’ve been riding a 2001 YZ 80 for a while until I got my 250!
Tristan got yourself a heck of a bike for your age!! I’m 60 and ride s 2011 KTM 300 XCR W. It’s a monster! My son rides a 2008 KTM 200 XC. Love the woods set up over motocross
John Smith Nice, my dad has also got a KTM 450 not sure what kind but it’s a 4 stroke!
Tristan awesome ! BTW ours are both 2 strokes. I would love a 450 thumper to ride and switch off on! We would all have fun wouldn’t we?
See Im 18, about 5'9" and 170 on a bad day. I was thinking of getting a 125 2 stroke but im worried, is that gonna be enough for me. Ive ridden pit bikes before but ive never ridden a dirt bike. Would it be a dumb choice to buy a 250 2 stroke as a first bike
Bro, were you riding out at Blalock here in this video?
I have a ttr 125 and next spring I'm gonna switch to my dads 97' rm 250, very excited but I need to know more knowledge on 2 strokes to maintain a mint condition for the bike
good thing about those engines , you can simply change the power valve springs and completely change the characteristics of the engine
1:23 that feeling when you notice that two strokes are powerful
Had a 97 cr 250 I loved it got a 02 Ktm 400 because I got old still have it just got a sxf 250 nice but still miss that 97 Honda most fun I ever had on two wheels. 63 years old isn’t to old to ride dirt bikes . The ktm 400 has been a great bike all these years . I also have a 15 crf250l. And gold wing.some people say I have a problem! And I do I need a fz6 two ride . I’ll Ride till I can’t anymore ! My first wheelchair will be a 2 stroke.LoL
Bravo 👏 c'est trop cool 😎 merci beaucoup pour la vidéo bonne continuation pour la suite.
