Couple of things: Doesn't matter if it 'bounces and also goes out the boundary' that it would be a 4. The ball just needs to come in contact with the ground before reaching the boundary for it to be qualified as a 4. The players start running just after hitting the ball so that if the ball is fielded (stopped) before reaching the boundary, the runs scored because of running between the wickets are counted. But if it reached the boundary, only 4's and 6's are counted, doesn't matter how many times they run between the wickets. When the batsmen know they have hit a six, they don't usually run because they know it is going out the boundary, no need to run and waste their energy. Melissa noticed that the ball didn't hit the bat when it was caught behind the wicket which was an out. That's because it's very tough to notice the ball nick the bat when it is travelling so fast but the players on the field know that it was a nick because of the sound ball made when passing the bat. Sometimes umpires are confused too about this so when reviewed, "Ultra-edge" system detects the sound made while ball was passing the bat and if there's a spike on the graph, they know ball was edged which can't be easily seen with naked eyes. Only if the ball is edged and caught behind, it's an out. If it misses the bat and the player behind catches it, it is never an out. There's no 3 strikes system in cricket like baseball. So you can miss as many balls as you want in test cricket where the number of overs(an over contains 6 balls) are not limited like ODI or T20 ( 300 balls or 50 overs for ODI and 120 balls or 20 overs for t20). In ODI and T20 because they have a limited number of balls, you have to take advantage of all of them to set a big score. In Lagaan, they were hitting the players directly on the shin and body because there were no strict rules and regulations in earlier days of cricket regarding where can a bowler ball hence causing a lot of severe injuries. But now you can't bowl above the waist height( it is counted as a no-ball providing a free run and a free ball) and that is because unlike a baseball ball, the cricket ball is much harder and can cause grave danger to batsmen. They can however bowl directly at the batsman( a full-toss bowl) below waist but they don't generally do that as it is much easier to hit and score runs on. That's because unlike baseball where a home run is counted when they hit the ball in a designated area otherwise counted as a foul, in cricket the ball can go around anywhere in 360 degrees scoring runs. Only good full-toss ball can be when they target the batsman's foot(known as a Yorker ball) or lower leg, as it is much harder to hit and if they miss, the ball hits the wickets or it can be out due to LBW (leg before wicket). Bowling on the pitch (making the ball bounce) actually makes it harder for the batsmen due to varying bounce and spin conditions of the pitch restricting batsmen their full swing of the bat hence saving runs for the bowling team. Hope this helps :)
They are not missing the ball, you cannot be out of you missed the ball. They are out because they edged the ball and got caught by the wicketkeeper. It's a faint edge but still out.
Yeah that's the one they have been getting wrong the most. For a batsman to get out when a ball is caught the ball has to HIT THE BAT somehow, even faintly so. An Australian batsman Phillip Hughes was killed by a cricket ball that hit his artery in his neck and he collapsed unconscious and died in hospital 1 day later, this happened in an australian domestic game in 2014.
Some of the commenters have commented here that bowling at a batsman's head would be considered a no Ball, ie give the opposing team 1 free run and a free hit. But there is some nuance. they are allowed to bowl at head height 2x a over in a 5 day match but only 1x in a 50 over match. the purpose is not really to hit him in the head but to mess with his foot work. It often happens when a ball flew at or just past your head, you are no linger thinking of the incoming ball but about the last ball. So often you will see the strategy of a Bowler sending a bouncer (ie: a head height ball) followed by a Yorker (ie: a ball placed on the batsman's toes. This often results in a Wicket if the batsman isn't up to it.
Okay, so quite a few things. Really appreciate your intent to learn and grasp as many things as possible. 1) Whenever the ball reaches the ropes, no matter the times it bounces off the ground, its four runs. The ball just has to reach the ropes. Four runs have nothing to do with bounce, it could drag itself, from the moment it hits the bat, along the ground. It's considered four runs. 2) Whenever the ball goes flying across the ropes, its 6 runs. The reason a bounce is mentioned in explanations is to differentiate between 6 and 4. So 4 is reaching the ropes, 6 is going flying over the ropes (without bouncing). 3) The keeper(with gloves) , gets gloves because he has to catch the ball the most. Many times even 6 times in an over. An over has 6 balls , so sometimes all 6 balls are caught by the keeper. Also the keeper gets most off speed deflects. After deflecting off the batsmans bat, the ball can reach unimaginable speeds. So it's for safety since the reaction time can be as little as .1 of a second. 4) The cricket ball is unusually hard, many cricketers have died playing the sport because of balls hitting them on the head or the neck while batting. Bouncers from fast bowlers can be considered lethal if batsmen dont play or react to a ball aimed at the body. 5) The balls that you thought missed the bat and yet were given out by the umpire (raising the finger) , actually did not miss the bat. You cannot be ruled out if the ball does not hit the bat. So those balls that you thought keeper caught but missed the bat , infact did not miss the bat. The ball deflected off the bat at high speeds, the camera cannot catch such faint deflects. 6) Finally, test cricket is a game of patience and finesse, the reason balls are bounced off the pitch is to give it a swing, a spin. To make it harder for the batsman to gauge the direction and speed of the ball. Hence some swing ballers totally fool the batsmen, even spinners. It's an art, the art of bowling. The art of making the ball un anticipated movements. Hence, some pitches are green to support pace , some are dry for spinners. The wind the overcast , the pitch, all those aspects hold great value in cricket. Non bouncing balls are called full tosses , they are a gift to a batman most times , it's easy pickings for a four or six. Hope I could help your confusion with the explanation.
Lovely.. You guys will get there and learn, by the time India tour of England is done this September and IPL begins. There are 1.4 billions Indians who are cricket fans and always excited to teach and help others learn the game. You guys take your own time and just enjoy the game.
The ball hitting the head is called a bouncer and is a very important part of bowling in cricket. It is used on pitches with bounce to scare the batsman.
Alyssa why u r d most confused person ...she just messes up the most easiest things and evern confuses shon 😂😂. Ball bounces before boundary is four runs ...fielders try so hard to stop it before going to boundary ..And if they stops it they can throw it back to wickets to run out the batsmen because batsmen can run as many as runs they can BEFORE BALL TOUCHES BOUNDARY . It's that simple guys
guys start with T20 matches because they are short basically they will be given 20 overs each over will be 6 balls that is 6*20=120. Each team gets 120 balls the teams that scores more runs in 120 balls will be winner but the test matches are longer .They are focusing on ball because it decides the match if it crosses bountry you get 4 runs and if it directly enter outside bountry its 6 runs and if any opposite player catches it there is a chance to out the batsman and even run out depends on whether the opposite team gets the ball on time . and to clear the concept of gaining runs that is there are two players A and B if the player A hits the ball and they switch positions before the opposite team gets the ball if player B comes to player A's potition then its 1 run ( they have to switch their positions) if player A comes back again then its 2 runs ( they switch their position twice and they will be on the same position again). And there is womans cricket also there HOPE YOU GUYS THIS IS USEFUL TO YOU ❤❤❤👍👍✌ but its a little long comment to read 😅😅
Its called test cricket because ball moves so much .....it swings into the batsman as well as away from batsman after bouncing....so that's why there r so many catching fielders near batsman.....in short format cricket everyone is at boundary as Batsman tries to hit more boundary and bowlers don't have much swing.........
Saurav Ganguly captancy year 2001 to 2003 indian team players were best players of indian team, and Australian team was king in cricket at that time during the year 1998 to 2007.
The blue and white strip laid down on the ground is a boundary not the sheets beyond that. If the ball crosses the strip directly it is 6 runs and if the ball bounces before the strip it is 4 runs. If it is 4 or 6 runs, it does not matter whether the batsman runs or not because his running would not be counted as run because it is already counted in either 4 or 6 runs. That's why sometimes batsman dont run because they are confident it would be boundary.
Main thing is the speed of ball..its over 140km/s sometimes over 150+… it’s so quick that you are not able to see it sometimes..its a serious pace. No common man expects to play these so fast balls
If the ball bounces and then touches the boundary line its a 4 and if it crosses the boundary line without bouncing then its a 6. Lots of love to you guys.
Back when cricket was played on the village greens in England, sometimes the ball would go into the bushes and be lost. The batters could carry on running until the ball was found and thrown back. To stop this, if the ball reached the 'boundary' it would be worth four runs and no more. If it went over the boundary without touching the ground, it was a six and no more.

It’s six runs when it goes over the boundary rope … when it rolls on the ground and crosses/touches the rope(might bounce once or more b4 crossing the rope) it’s 4 runs…for boundaries and over boundaries the batsman need not run between the wickets…
@@irhdaily remember guys in cricket he's not pitcher he is not throwing. He is bowling .he is bowler. Because the bowler not bending his hand while bowling. So technically it's not throwing . it is cheating if you bend your hand while bowling.
@@irhdaily it is hard to bowl 100miles per hour without bending you hand .but some people who work hard will improve there speed with excercises . You can try bowl( not bending your hand) you will understand. And running (we call it run up) before bowling makes the bowler tried. So being a bowler in cricket is so hard than a pitcher in baseball. Hope you will understand . And reply for my information 🙏🙂
Remember one thing if it misses the bat it is never catch out.. the ball has touched the bat which u can't see clearly that's where technology comes into play
In cricket the bowler is supposed to bounce the ball on the pitch. That is how the pitch comes into play. However for the delivery to be legal it can bounce only once one the pitch. Fast ballers bowl cutters and other delivery with the help of the pitch. Spinners bowl spin with the help of the pitch. Pitch is the brown patch betw en the wickets where the ball is pitched to bounce. Of course the baller can bowl without bouncing the ball on the pitch. Such a ball is called a full toss. For most professional batsmen full toss is very easy to put away. A full toss is legal only if it stays below the waist of the facing batsman in his natural stance. Else it is a no ball.
Don't worry guys! Its ok to get confused, you both still try too hard. Not knowing the game completely and still watching it just because your viewers love to see your reactions is more than we could ask for. To clear your doubts: 1. If the ball goes outside the boundary directly then its a 6. 2. If the ball touches or goes outside the boundary by bouncing once or any no. of times then its a 4. 3. The batsman is allowed to take the runs by running between the wickets till the ball is not thrown back towards the wicket keeper or near the wickets. Love you both!
to get a six run , the ball needs to be go out of the boundary without touching the ground .and if it touches the ground ( whether one bounce or more ) and reaches the boundary, it would be four
They can throw the ball directly without bouncing in the pitch but it should be below waist height.. They generally don't prefer pitching it directly because that makes it a lot more easier for batsman to play.. by bouncing the ball on the ground the batsman remains in two mind, which way the ball is gonna turn/spin/swing.. it is more difficult to make connection when it is bouncing.. and also by bouncing the ball u get the fielders behind the stump in play to catch the ball if the batsman Nicks it behind..
It's 11 hour play highlights in 10 min how can you understand rules of the game it's an emotion And one inning is equal to 10 wickets in test cricket (10 better can bat) In test cricket both teams bat 2 times in 5 days It's an emotion,😍😍 imagine thier hard work for 5 days for result 😍
You cannot bowl the ball directlly at the batters head. That is called a Beamer and is foul ball and will get you a dressing down from the Umpire. A Full Toss is allowed, that is a ball that does not strike the ground but is below waist height. Most batters consider a full toss a gift. You can bowl short and hit the batter with a high bounce anywhere on the body. It is not considered sporting to bowl Bouncers at tail enders, but the Indian fast bowlers peppered Anderson, so I presume he upset them in some way.
10:07 if it hadn't hit the bat then how is he out.. it has taken a very little feather of bat that can be confirmed with technologies like ultra edge(works on sound that ball produce when it hits the bat.+ Different camera angles the sound should be of bat hitting ball, not of any body part) only then he is out.. and gloves are also seen as extension of bat.. (bat willow+ handle+ gloves= bat)
3:55 ya there wasn't any rule for a ball to bounce, I mean if baller wants to ball without bounce he can ball fuller (without bounce), now days there's a rule for that, if a Bawler balls a fuller ball (a full toss in cricket language) it must be below waist if not then I'd be a no ball (that means he would get a free hit on next ball when he can hit that ball wherever he wants without losing his wicket except for run out) But in the beginning there wasn't any rule for full toss ball, means if you throw that ball on the face without even bouncing it on the ground It was allowed like you saw in Lagaan Pardon my English if I made any mistake & I hope you understood 😅
& for starters react to T20 matches Those are the faster shorter versions of cricket & in T20 matches teams wears different coloured clothes, so you won't get confused (team wears same clothes or white clothes only in test matches like this one)
So there are two types of boundaries that can be scored for which batsmen don’t have to run. One is a four for 4 automatic runs. The batsmen get a four if the ball bounces before the boundary rope and then goes over the line. It does not matter how many times the ball bounces before the rope. (Alyssa pay attention). In fact the ball need not bounce at all. It can roll over the ground and cross the boundary line and it will still be a four (4). A six is when the batsman hits the ball directly over the boundary line without any bounces on the ground. Don’t tell me you are still confused after this explanation 😅
11:42 first instinct after hitting the ball is to run.. batsman doesn't know whether it's gonna go all the way or the fielder is gonna stop it.. so they prefer to run in the start but when they figure that it's gonna go for a boundary they stop running.. and that run doens't count which he scored by running on that shot if it hits the boundary for a 4 or 6..
It was written that India needs three wickets to win...it meant that there were three batsmen of England who were left to be out...and if India gets them out (before england reaches targetted score)....then India will win. IND stands for India ENG stands for england But yeah you guys made a lot of progress...it felt much better watching this reaction Btw I suggest learn reading the score board which is shown below....it will help you a lot to know what's actually going on....because it has everything written from the teams score, to overs, to wickets and even the bastmen and bowlers names!

When the ball is not bounce it is very easy to hit for 4 or 6 becouse here pitch(made of soil) is also a role when ball bounce on pitch then the ball move little bit so batsman face difficulty to hit or stop the ball. Pitch has a big role how ball move, pitch made according to host country's favour. In England fast bowler get advantage so they make pitch for first bowler also wather suppot for first bowler could wather is best for swing the ball in air & pitch make the ball move right(out swing) or left(in swing) for a right hand batsman. In India wather support spin bowler(slow bowler)

@@irhdaily guys, in cricket, the ball doesn't have to be bounced all the time. The one that doesn't bounce is called a full toss ball which is considered the easiest to hit. The balls that are bounced before reaching the batsman, is relatively more difficult to hit, since the ball is travelling at over 130-150 kilometres per hour. And in Lagaan, most of the balls are bounced except the one that hits aamir Khan at the end. It's the bowlers wish to either bounce or not bounce the ball while bowling to the batsman. A four is when the batman hits the ball and the ball goes past the Boundary line with atleast one bounce before the ball hits the boundary rope. If the ball doesn't bounce before the boundary rope, it's considered a six.

IPL (Twenty20) matches are starting from September 17... that can be a good start for you guys it's around a 3 hour game
12:21 it's LBW ( leg before wicket)
If ball hits your leg before wicket and your leg is in line of wicket then you caught out (sort of basics) 😁
Damn, I told them not to do this. Their comments on the game are hilarious 😂
20:47 the guy in slips also caught it ,he is rohit sharma, he took a one handed catch which is just ignored by netizens
Philip Huges of Australian team died because of a head injury of the ball recently.
It's really dangerous if it hits the head even with the ⛑️ helmet
Wow! Back to Back reactions. Waiting for more.
17:07 many cricketers have lost their lives
even recently for hard bouncers hitting their head.
Not many only one guy

People travel from one continent to another continent to watch a cricket match. Watching 5 days is very normal.
Wow cricket ke highlights pe bhi reaction aane lage🙄
Alyssa why u r d most confused person ...she just messes up the most easiest things and evern confuses shon 😂😂. Ball bounces before boundary is four runs ...fielders try so hard to stop it before going to boundary ..And if they stops it they can throw it back to wickets to run out the batsmen because batsmen can run as many as runs they can BEFORE BALL TOUCHES BOUNDARY . It's that simple guys
3:37 the ball doesn't has to bounce when balled to the batsman but in direct throw it should not be above the waist of the batsman.
I thought you will upload this match after one week but you uploaded early I am so excited.
guys start with T20 matches because they are short basically they will be given 20 overs each over will be 6 balls that is 6*20=120.
Thank you for clearing it up Aditya, I think we just about understand all the rules, almost there😅 love you!!
Back when cricket was played on the village greens in England, sometimes the ball would go into the bushes and be lost. The batters could carry on running until the ball was found and thrown back. To stop this, if the ball reached the 'boundary' it would be worth four runs and no more. If it went over the boundary without touching the ground, it was a six and no more.
well you have evolved really fast.. now you're getting it
Thank you for the support Aditya. It did take awhile I think😅
IPL (Indian Premier League) resumes in september in UAE..starts at 7:30 p.m. Indian standard time..every single day there will be a match and some days 2 matches..you can watch them then you guys will understand it better...i dont think you can react to IPL videos due to copyright issues...they will block the video..
Guys you can set up discord with some Indian who can explain you when you have any doubts that would be pretty cool.
Don't worry they don't give copyright strike to you only BCCI owned(matches played in india) videos get copyright strike
Good to know, thank you! We did have some issues with the last one getting blocked, so I just did the same editing for this one.
It’s six runs when it goes over the boundary rope … when it rolls on the ground and crosses/touches the rope(might bounce once or more b4 crossing the rope) it’s 4 runs…for boundaries and over boundaries the batsman need not run between the wickets…
We india we win ..
2-1 lead for after oval..
Bring it on🔥🔥🇮🇳🇮🇳
It doesn't need to bounce but it should be below the wrist if directly thrown
Okay thank you for the info Angelo!
@@irhdaily it's waist* btw
Waist not wrist

Nice reaction dears.Cricket is so amazing & interesting game. Love you from UAE.
Just loving the way you guys are learning cricket 😁❣️
Else it is a no ball.
wow amazing reaction both of u on India's religion like cricket
You can watch the IPL from SEP 19th and its only a 4 hour match so much shorter than a test match.
Don't worry guys! Its ok to get confused, you both still try too hard. Not knowing the game completely and still watching it just because your viewers love to see your reactions is more than we could ask for.
To clear your doubts:
Ur faces in the thumbnail.. 😂😂👍
Hi guys, I am Sean, this is Alissa
Guss is in our hearts
And this is internet rabbit hole dailyaaaaaaaa❤️❤️
It's 11 hour play highlights in 10 min how can you understand rules of the game it's an emotion
And one inning is equal to 10 wickets in test cricket
(10 better can bat)
In test cricket both teams bat 2 times in 5 days
It's an emotion,😍😍 imagine thier hard work for 5 days for result 😍
You cannot bowl the ball directlly at the batters head. That is called a Beamer and is foul ball and will get you a dressing down from the Umpire. A Full Toss is allowed, that is a ball that does not strike the ground but is below waist height. Most batters consider a full toss a gift. You can bowl short and hit the batter with a high bounce anywhere on the body. It is not considered sporting to bowl Bouncers at tail enders, but the Indian fast bowlers peppered Anderson, so I presume he upset them in some way.
Those jeers you guys were hearing were not boos, they were actually English fans saying rooooooot eveytime Root (their captain) hit a four.
Ok now you know why we Indians are obsessed with cricket 🦗🦗🦗
U guys need to watch more! We Indians will love u when u love our game..! Continue guys learn more and remember ❤
3:55 ya there wasn't any rule for a ball to bounce, I mean if baller wants to ball without bounce he can ball fuller (without bounce), now days there's a rule for that, if a Bawler balls a fuller ball (a full toss in cricket language) it must be below waist if not then I'd be a no ball (that means he would get a free hit on next ball when he can hit that ball wherever he wants without losing his wicket except for run out)
But in the beginning there wasn't any rule for full toss ball, means if you throw that ball on the face without even bouncing it on the ground
It was allowed like you saw in Lagaan
Pardon my English if I made any mistake & I hope you understood 😅
& for starters react to T20 matches
Those are the faster shorter versions of cricket & in T20 matches teams wears different coloured clothes, so you won't get confused (team wears same clothes or white clothes only in test matches like this one)
It's fairly complicated to understand Test cricket, i recommend T20 first
Love your intro 😆✌🏽
Thank you Chinmay, love you!
Thanks for reacting
Thank you for watching Druva!🙏❤️
11:42 first instinct after hitting the ball is to run.. batsman doesn't know whether it's gonna go all the way or the fielder is gonna stop it.. so they prefer to run in the start but when they figure that it's gonna go for a boundary they stop running.. and that run doens't count which he scored by running on that shot if it hits the boundary for a 4 or 6..
There is bodyline balling(as in lagan movie), that is used to injure batsman by the baller, used in past times, now its restricted....
I compare a 5-day match to the PGA Championship. The first 3-3.5 days I have it in the background, then watch the final 1-1.5 days
It was written that India needs three wickets to win...it meant that there were three batsmen of England who were left to be out...and if India gets them out (before england reaches targetted score)....then India will win.
IND stands for India
ENG stands for england
But yeah you guys made a lot of progress...it felt much better watching this reaction
Btw I suggest learn reading the score board which is shown below....it will help you a lot to know what's actually going on....because it has everything written from the teams score, to overs, to wickets and even the bastmen and bowlers names!
22:56 Alissa ji it read "IND" India need 3 wickets to win not ENG
Guys i wish i would be there with u both to teach cricket.... its a wonderful game.... i might be wrong but.. 1.3 billion people in india cant be wrong..
Guys wait till Sep 19.. There is shorter format of cricket with limited overs called IPL. Don't miss the First Match after Pandemic Restrictions in Dubai. First Match is between CSK Vs Mi... Don't Miss it 🔥🔥

Thank you for the request, we know you’ve been asking. I saved it to a playlist, hopefully we can get to it, so much to get to😅
@@irhdaily my request also for Haider please react
