- The result actually surprised me! I'll show you how to make a 16 (fire) Brick Rocket Stove and a 32 Brick Rocket Stove. But which one works best? Let's find out together...
This water boil test was cut short at the end and part 2 can be found below where I test a 44 Brick Rocket Stove to see if that can outperform the 16 Brick setup.
Part 2 here: • Rocket Stove With 44 F...

Without the separated air supply the taller stove can't work to capacity. You can tell your stove/fire is burning efficiently if there is little or no smoke. Plus, once the effect of the tall chimney starts to really work you will hear the 'rocket' sound as the air is drawn through very quickly.
Ah that's what the rocket part means, thanks👍
I love watching other people experiments, saves me time when I take on similar projects, thanks.
You should've started the 2nd fire the next day, after everything was cooled back off.
Hay I'm just a 12 year old but I still like the stuff that you make
👍
So glad to see you use " Fire Bricks" as opposed to regular masonary bricks. Money saved on masonary bricks is not worth one's safety. Too many videos out there using concrete blocks & masonary bricks. Simple & to the point.
What can help is a secondary air intake channel, that would improve the burning and get a stronger fire in a very period of time and therefore quicker time to boil.
According to the Robot from "Lost in Space", there are 37 ways to skin a cat. Thanks for the video. God Bless, stay safe.
Need one more half brick so the feed tube is the same size as the riser. Will burn more efficient.
i also made a rocket stove similar to this in my house for winter heating, and it working well!
Can you share with me how to do that in your home? I live in a trailer and it’s so cold in here and all I have is two space heaters
I would recommend trying the two different stoves but don't put the kettle on until you get each stove burning good AND the bricks hot. Maybe check the temps with an IR thermometer.
Put a circle made of a tin can iron around your kettle, it's helpful to boil water much more quicker.
Thnk you so much for this video
thumbs up!!!!!
Make the fire hole one brick bigger
I like the first oven you built
Thanks. I'll build more soon.
Proportions of air/feeding hole to column matters. 32 brick one is too high. 16 brick is nearer optimal. Wondering how to improve feeding hole to still allow enough air to come in when full of sticks.
Thanks for your information.
Is there a negative effect with 16 bricks ?
Not that I can remember
So is the wire grate not really needed?
It helps airflow. If you put stuff on top and don't allow air to escape it kills the fire below
Very easy to choke off your air supply without a separate air channel.
1 thing you could do is improve the sound... I'm hard of hearing and I can barely hear you... So if you could turn up the volume on your end. Thanks
Thanks ok.
2nd stove needs more air intake bcos more smoke.
10:25 the beat is sick
title ?
What is the dimension of a single brick? (LXWXH)
Thank you.
Not sure but I’m sure google knows
for test No. 2, you never drained out the previous water so it wasn't cold as the first test. That affects your results.
And the bottom brickwork was already hot too
All great comments. Use exactly the same type, configuration, amount of fuel. Not sticks and scraps. You're testing the design so all other items must be the same,😉
Won’t the fire abd the wood actually change the result?
Abd? Not sure what you mean
Are these fire bricks?
Yes
I have about 600 old 1950's fire kiln red bricks 4"x8" they each weight 4 lbs. This should be ok for making this type of stove? Great Video
It's worth a shot. Let me know how it goes
Try laying the bricks on there sides for more height.
Air intake is too small and blocked by wood. Seperate fuel feed tube needed.

His burn chamber is circular which creates a vortex. He did his by using chipped bits, nothing fancy.
Sounds awesome
less bricks are more efficient if traveling.
There is too much smoke for a rocket stove.
I was burning wet stuff. Maybe that's why. Rainy days
