I think this songs acoustic opening is a ripoff of The Talisman which itself rips of the superior The Legacy. Rest of the song is okay. I would have loved The Parchment and The Darkest Hour.
It's a Janick song, and he has a certain sound. That said, he's my current favorite song writer in the band: Dance of Death, Talisman, Book of Souls, The Alchemist, and this. Fantastic songs all.
Not really, its not that simillar to The talisman which is nowhere near simillar to The Legacy. If there is one song this one takes from, its the mid song riff from The Edge of Darkness.
