Cool stuff! I need to get a piece of Continental Currency. Such cool piece. Went to the LCS yesterday. They had a 500 FRN a strong EX raw for 1250! I was shocked no one bought it yet. Thinking of picking it up to flip it....
Awesome collection!!!! I just got my 1934a $500 note and a 1934 $1000 note. They are truly beautiful and just badass to look at !! I should get my 1918 $1 national currency note , 1896 $1 silver cert. note, and a 1923 $1 sliver cert. note. I can’t wait. I always enjoy watching you re videos👍
Awesome! Thank you! The $1000 and the $500 are the most relatable to people who don't collect and it''s a great way to introduce new people into the hobby. They are so iconic! I would bring both of mine to show new bank tellers. That way they remember me and will keep an eye out for cool stuff for me. The Flying Eagle is cool so I know you are only one step away from a battleship! I think my $1 educational was the last one I got to complete that series. Thanks for watching!
Nice top 10+ and honorable mentions. Congratulations nice win from Lady Bullion, I won number 6 myself. The fractional, continental, and the colonial currency are very nice pieces to have in your collection. I just recently purchased a first run 5 cent that i will have graded soon and purchuse a graded 10 cent from 1874 which i think is from the 5th run. Thanks for sharing
Thanks! I think everyone should have an example of each of those notes. They are such unusual and interesting pieces of our history. Good luck on the grade!
The compound interest notes were only issued in 1863 and 1864.They were used to help finance the Union during the Civil War.They could also be used as legal tender at face value. The 10$ note actually has the same black eagle as the 1899 1$ silver cert. There are only 15 of the 100$ known to exist, which features a full body image of George Washington, and the only banknote to ever depict him like that
There are notes going all the way back to the 1600’s but they were not produced by the US government. The first government issued notes were demand notes in 1861 followed by the 1862 legal tender series.
In all of my resources I don't have a single reference to college bank notes. I have never seen one. The best I could say without seeing one would be that it certainly is not a category of US currency. For a college to print their own currency would mean they are the ones backing it, not the US. Kind of like obsolete bank notes. Not US currency. You should make a video of it so I can see what you are talking about. I'm sure many people would be interested.
Why are people selling the 1901 buffalo's for thousands ?? Are they selling the based on " their " face value or are they actually worth that much? Or is it a rio off?
The North African relief note and the gold certificate are my two favorite old u.s. currencies and it's two of the three that I want in my collection that I don't have expensive the third is the brown seal non Federal Reserve Bank by the way your gold certificate is beautiful what's that worth about five six hundred bucks proof positive of United States currency deflation
For my top 10 lists, I use my replica notes. I don't like taking that many expensive notes out at once. I am searching for a brown seal National $100. Good luck to both of us!
Everything has a price. But I will tell you I wouldn't sell anything unless I knew I could replace it. That means you can always find it cheaper somewhere else. I'm more like a catalog to show you what's out there. Thanks for watching!
So much history in our currency and you explain it so well. Great job.
Thank you kindly! I really appreciate that!

Nice Video I really enjoy United States Currency and also congratulations on winning a lady bouillon round!
Thank you very much! So few people show currency. It's an untapped market!
When was the 1st United States bill made

Hello from the other side of the lake!
and people complain that cryptocurrency is hard to learn...geez
So are college bank notes considered their own type?

In a grade VF20 the average book price is $1300. They go up from there based on condition.
