Hi there, can anyone tell me how safe the drive is? I lived the muir woods national park so much my partner and I have gone multiple times, and have taken family. But the drive up is absolutely atrocius. I can't believe they have no guard rail. And on two occasions, I can smell overheated breaks. I't not my driving im afraid of, it's car failure and other peoples driving. How is the drive up to Mt TAM east peak in this video? Is is just as dangerous? A 1-way mountain road with no guard rail?
I lived there and have made that drive many times. The traffic on the way up is typically slow but it's pretty crazy nonetheless. Once you're at the top, you'll realize it was worth the trip as the views are nothing short of amazing!

That first trail instead of going up the stairs to the tower.. does that trail wrap around and lead u back to the parking lot?
