Damn, achievement unlocked! Kuga went to the most remote continent and took us along. How amazing. 🎉
Id express appreciation for the achievement reference, but youtube keeps deleting my comments
Achievement in destroying the planet 🎉
Achievement in destroying the planet
These flights also raise a lot of money for Mawson's Huts, which were erected in 1911 by an Australian exploration team. They are very historic and are very famous amongst Australians. During these flights, the people working at one of the Australian research bases down there often come out and wave at the plane.
Ty! I learned yet again something new today! 💋☺️🙋🏻♀️🇨🇦
If I was on that flight, I would be so involved of what I was seeing I would forget to film. You did a great job, thank you.
Time moves slowly when I'm on the go with you. There's something about letting the images and sound wash over my mind. It's so relaxing! Thanks for this!
I took a QANTAS scenic flight of Antactica on the 18th of February 1979 on Boeing 747; it was spectacular. I had recently turned twenty-five, and it was my first flight.🛫That was forty-five years ago - how time gets away. I'm an old man of seventy-years now.🤔 ...... and it cost me $200!😂
Spring chicken you are. I'm finally going on 9 February 2025. I had the opportunity to do it on a 747 back in January 1997. The flight was actually on my birthday, Jan 20. And I passed it up. I've regretted that. I decided to do it a few years ago but couldn't because I wasn't vaccinated. But I'm booked on now. And mine is a Sunday flight as well. Flying with me will be unopened letters and first day covers cancelled at Australian Antarctic Territory research stations from the 50's and 60's and sent to Australia. I'll be flying them over Antarctica again for the first time in 70 years...
Wow that was beautiful. Thank you for sharing with us.
The base you flew over (at 19:58) is Casey Station. It is the Antarctica base of Australia. You can see it in google maps. I spent some time there a few years back, incredible place and the Aussies were wonderful. (I'm USA) Given that it's an Australian airline, I'm pretty shocked they didn't announce what you were seeing...
Everytime I watch Kuga's vlog 🥲
Kuga: Everyone clap!
Me: 👏🏼👏🏼
Glade you came to my home town of Brisbane for a very special flight to Antarctica. I just found your travel sight on RUclips and I am enjoying catching you on your trip around the world hope you enjoyed your flight and will come back to Brisbane for more long trips from our City
So cool! Thank you for taking us on this journey of a lifetime.
What a great flight and experience. I think this is my second time watching flight to Antarctica, this time just flying above it without landing. The duration of flight feels like International flight to be honest. The view is definitely breathtaking.
Ah yes, flying, one of the few occasions besides Christmas day where it's acceptable to wash breakfast down with a wine 😂
What an incredible experience! Thanks for taking us along, Kuga!
Congratulations on such an epic adventure. Thank you for letting us enjoy your adventure with you.
Hi Kuga, Qantas until recently used the 747 for these Antartica flights. Thanks for Sharing.
Thank you for sharing this interesting journey. Never knew there is such a flight from Qantas. Sugoi!!!
That was an incredible experience. It’s beautiful.
I like your footnotes throughout. Very informative. Thank you.
That was amazing....what you just shared has me reevaluating my past travel choices. Wow., yeah.
White desert flight from Cape Town to Antarctica.
This was breathtaking! Thank you!
Hi from Veria Greece, love watching your video's. Thanks for taking us along with you. 😍😍😍
oh wow! That's amazing!
While you were looking for penguins, I was looking for merpeople. Great video Kuga!
What a fantastic journey, thanks for taking us along.
Thank you so much for taking us with you!
Most interesting video I've seen in a long time. Thank you!
Amazing. I enjoyed the video, thanks for showing us your journey.... ♥️
Wow! Great view! Thank you for the video!
What a incredible journey. I envy your opportunity to do so, but am so delighted to join you here on it....Thank you.
Awesome video Kuga, thanks for sharing
Sometimes inter continental flights in the southern hemisphere make use of jet streams over the Antarctic for improved economy by flying south and one gets to see the ice if the flight is during southern hemisphere summer, quite a treat.
Thanks for sharing, glad you got to enjoy that special trip.
Yes I've been on BNE -> ORT and seen the ice once, it was incredible
Amazing ! Thanks Kuga
So wonderful to see you visited my home city, Brisbane. What a fantastic trip.
SO COOL!!! Thank you, Kuga!
Did you have to adjust the time on your watch a few times given Antarctica would span all 24 time zones?
No, just kidding .. lol
I once flew from HK to Denmark years ago and it was over Siberia and very interesting flight too.
Antarctica flight indeed must be very exciting.
Thanks for video.
that was so kool. thank you for sharing.
fantastic video, and so well presented. Thank you for taking us with you on this epic adventure. Have liked and subscribed!
Thanks for watching!
Don't forget to watch the other Australian videos on my channel as well👍
Wow Kuga I can’t believe you did this!!!👍👍👍
amazing Kuga, didn't even realise this was a thing
Wow I almost missed this video. I watched the amusement park one and checked your others. This was a unique trip and thanks for sharing.
You had an awesome experience Kuga, I’ve always wanted to do that flight, now I might just have to. Loving your channel. Arigato Gozimasu 🧊 ❄️💙
Added to the flight list, quick fast. Imagine doing this flight and the FinnAir Incheon-Helsinki North Pole in the same year.
ohhh wow what a journey, I didn't know you were even down here again you should a told me might of been able to say Gday, but then im in Melb and you left outta Brisbane, thanks for sharing as always regards Doc
That was Fantastic , Good job
This looked like an amazing trip
Amazing, so good!
Thank you for this great video.
I’m not sure I want to do this kind of flight, but very nice that it exists and a great thanks for sharing it.
You’re very lucky to participate to one..
Btw, thanks for all your videos, i rarely comment but always a pleasure to watch them.
Merci beaucoup pour cette vidéo, c'est hallucinant 😮
I absolutely envy you for that trip. Going to Antarctica is a life long dream of mine.
Enjoyed the trip!
Awesome. Thank you so much.
Wow. I didn't even know there was such a flight. Really amazing.
Wow...& wow! Thank you, Kuga san
I did the Antarctic flight ex-Sydney in 2022. It was an absolutely fantastic experience.
Thanks for the video, usually after watching a Kuga video I’m like… “I want to do that!” This experience? Mehhh.. not so much. Ice view only half the trip, wing view, no penguins, 🐧. If I’m going to Antarctica, I want to be ON Antarctica! One night Glamping with penguins count me in!
haha yeah, I get that, I want to go back to the continent while I'm still physically able - it is so expensive though, and the landings are kept short on tourist ships. The flight would still be cool though, a different perspective.
yeah given the good seats with decent views on these flights are almost as much as gthe cheapest 10 day tours of Antarctica, i went and did the whole ship cruise down there to see the Penguins. Certainly and experience worth having, but these flights are different, mostly as you see the expanse of the continent from the air. i just don't think they are worth it.
Aaay, Brisbane! I hope you enjoyed your stay while there :)
Great job, thank you
If we take a similar flight-path next season, I'm hoping we go a touch beyond 80 degrees south. I want to see the beginning of the Transantarctic Mountains and the Drygolski Ice Tongue. Mt Erebus would be good. And the Ross Ice Shelf. I'm sure it will be an eyeful and a dream come true...
What a treat experience!
Another great video
Hi, Kuga. I have been enjoying your videos for years but this is my first comment of any length. I love catching a glimpse of whatever stylish wristwatch you are wearing. I for one would enjoy it if you gave us a little “wristwatch check” in your voyages to show us what you are wearing. Seems like it wouldn’t be out of place if it was a time stamp for departure or arrival time, etc. Happy travels. -Bo
wauuu you make that video its a super amazing flight from normal country to the coollest continent in world antartica its more cold that winter
I hope they had the windows cleaned fully for everyone - inside and out!
Fascinating!
Thank you!🤝
great trip...thanks kuga
🙏💐🤗Hi from Russia Thank you so much for this beautiful flight to Antarctica as seen from the airplane.
An rather interesting Idea for flights. :)
Thanks for sharing, shared.
inspiration ! thanks for the video! maybe you should do a business class next time.
This is one awesome adventure I think everyone should do. What a diverse planet we live on. Bushyboy Oz.
I always wonder how long ago Kuga recorded these videos just because how frequent they upload traveling around the world showing us these different experiences.
Really nice. I felt like I was there!
must be a nice experience
There is a flag of Antarctica exists 🇦🇶 You can proudly set it in title of the video. It's pretty rare imho.
Great video 👌
Konnichiha dear Kuga!
I regret I have not kept up with your travels, I have suffered many unfortunate life experiences.
Anyway, I enjoyed your Antarctic flight.
I have wanted to do this for many years, but now, I'd have to go first class, because of my health, my legs must be raised all the time now, so economy would cause me terrible problems.
Anyway, congratulations on achieving your goal, and thank you very much for showing Antarctica!
Cheers,
Arigatou gozaimushita
justin❤
Arigatou gozaimasu!🤝
AMAZING!! Will u ever stay at one of the camps there?
Kuga, thank you for an excellent trip report. How was the breakfast wine ? 😂
It’s in my bucket list. Thanks for taking us with you Kuga!
Tytyty...
Did I say ty?😊 😁🙏🏻🧸🙋🏻♀️🇨🇦💋💋💋 I never flew on a plane, helicoptor, ridden a train or been on a huge cruise ship. Thankful you share the experiences with us. I am not well off, so it means alot to me. Ty so much. Hugs and stay healthy!❤
I hope you're going to pop across the Tasman? There's a couple of train journeys worth taking.😁
When I saw the menu: ah yes very nice, sounds alright
Breakfast comes out: 🫣
Wow!
I hope someday I could visit that place too !
I didn’t know Qantas charters flights from my home location to Antartica! Thats something I can brag about lol
Brilliant. Did you know there is a cruise from South America to Antartica?
Sweet I didn't know that flight went from Brisbane and Queensland is my home state.
Love the accents. Ova heeya you see the ice this toyme a yee ah.
Amazing 🇦🇶🇦🇺
Welcome to Australia
Wow!!!!!
Fantastic
DANKE für das Video! ‼
Ich würde gerne wissen, in welcher Flughöhe Sie direkt über die Antarktis flogen. ❓
Next trip is to step foot on it, go on an expedition!
Забыли про DC 10, приключений захотелось.
I really feel that they should use similar types of planes they would use on international flights
It's a shame they don't let you land and take a trip out to the huge metal gates where the sleeping giants are (but I believe thats WAY inland)...this was a wonderful trip!
They should build a runway where the plane can land and the passengers can enjoy at least an hour on land.
