  • On this video I show you how to make a simple circuit to control the PTT line on your CB or HAM radio to enable you to create a roger beep with a tone or melody of your choosing, the whole thing being contained inside the actual mic itself, simple programming (see code below and circuit diagram provided)
    Link to my code and circuit diagram (wired for Amstrad 901, swap plug connections to suit your radio)

    knoxieman is probably the reason why radio amateurs return to populate the cb bands haha

    Stunning project Paul. Very well engineered. A nice subtle Roger beep (bleep) that one. Not a fan of them in general, but that tone you chose is very nice I have to admit. Wouldn't mind that. Love the knowledge shared in this. Keep the vids coming 😎
    The V77's are great BTW.
    Cheers 👍🍻

      @@knoxieman I can enter several melodies and change the melody with a button and how would I do it, I'm new to this arduino thing, thanks and that's great, I have 1 bluetho on my cb for the melodies but I'm interested in 1 with buttons

    Nice, but the general lee air horn noise is the one I like, now that would not annoy anyone :) Get a little connector like a 3.5mm mono socket (do they short out if plug in live) out the side, I would like a rechargeable and so no taking apart once done. Had CB in the day, home and car.

    Repairing 10 or 15 CB sets per week? Seems CB is back.

      Well lot of people have multiple sets and sets are worth a lot more if they work and are guaranteed to work 😎

    Very nicely done.
    I could do with one of those little boards for breadboard use.

    Nice video knoxie, as a kid I bought a roger beep power mic for my rig. Disappointed as to get the beep you had to try and release the mic key gradually, otherwise it didn't play😒

    The Amstrad beep was modelled on the 1969 Nasa moonshot beep.

    Just wondered how you made the label for the top of the mic?

    • @knoxieman
      @knoxieman  2 года назад +1

      Using a brother label printer they are amazing, I use the PT P710BT it's wireless BT enabled can print from app or desktop, you can get the design software from brothers website once you buy the printer, I paid about 75 UK pounds for mine.

    Roger bleeps are ten a penny, but when are we going to see a voice compressor board internal to the rig to finally do away with those bloody awful 'power mics" ?

    That would be extremely annoying.
