I agree with the couple who said Stoke on Trent needs regeneration!!! I believe that people who diss any area , not just Stoke on Trent, SHOULD pack up their stuff and leave , and reside somewhere else!!!
I think that record shop in Stoke used to be called Legendary Lonnies after the man who opened it an old former local pop singer. Stoke town also used to have a brilliant indoor market many years ago.

Lived here all my 65 years but most parts are a total dump now. Stoke is dead, Hanley and Longton are horrible, dirty, closed shops, rough sleepers, migrants roaming the streets in groups from the (so far) 4 hotels housing them.
It was thriving way back in the 1970s though. But by the mid 1980s most of Stoke town centre had become charity shops. Though the indoor market was still going strong.
Stoke on Trent is certainly NOT the "best micro city" anymore, if anything its very much the opposite. Its nothing like what it was 15 years ago, wasn't even that great then. Stoke on Trent needs a shit load of investment putting into it and not just in Hanley either. It needs investment across the hole city, it will take millions to even begin to regenerate this city because its been neglected so much. People are getting tired of failed projects and false promises being made to regenerate this place and the projects that have gone ahead just failed to deliver any benefit to the city. Its just a complete mess and a dump.
The Council is not perfect, but the amount of council tax it gets must be paltry, as there is such low income and high unemployment = low council tax revenue.
Stoke , Hanley and Newcastle should be made in to a single city instead of being lots of little towns. I,v lived in stoke-On-Trent all my life but I live in the countryside and I have never like stoke there is nothing there and now with all these Immigrants even Hanley is a mess. So we now go to Leek and Macclesfield. VOAT UKIP
