I’m late getting in on this but I’d like to see it without fenders and boards as well .. I really like the open wheel streamlined look .. but I’ll watch and appreciate the build as I catch up .. can’t wait to binge on it !!
I like the aero guards with the longer hood, It adds to the low scraper stance at the front. I'm contemplating a ute at the moment too. That's a Wayne Horsfall floorpan man I've never seen anyone re-stretch out a shortened pan before.
VW shapes, and style, does mean anything is possible, even probable. As a cool ute both front styles are cool. Recon it's going to be your choice in the end buddy. After all you are building it for you to drive. Definately love the ute quarter panel shape. Totally nailed it, in my humble opinion. 43yr veteran automotive engineer/ coach builder, tips hiz hat to you. ( old time sign of respect).
their is a third option on the stock front fenders scribe a line about 1 inch in from where the fender bolts to the car cut the fenders and add 1 or 2 inches and widen them. the back fenders cut above the swage line but not the full length stop about 4 inches from either end push the fenders outwards in the middle till you get the desired width then fill the gap in with sheet metal hope this helps cheers from broken hill
Hey, not my build but I don't care for the bed sides, but I keep watching and they might grow on me and I like the older front fenders better but this is your build so build it the way you want it!!! That what is nice about custom work if you decide you don't like something after fabrication you can cut it off and start again!!!
hi looks mad as i think stock front guards widen the back up tto match the front and put a running board between the two would look mint as and is the bed made from old front guards off a holden? look sort of like fc/ek
Rear quarters are too sharp, , could definately do with some rounding, with bug guards, just the actual wheel arch, blended into the quarter shape you have, like keep in the wing to tail light effect, if that makes sense

Liking this cool pickup . I’d like the stock early front wings, yeah running boards with stock rears 👍
Yeah, the early bonnet looks awesome, bespoke running boards will bring it all together! 😎
It pops with the stock for sure. It looks great, cant wait to see the finished job.
Yes the old bonnet with the aereo Gard's , I was going to ask about running boards . Mate that will be sic when it's done . Go hard .
Looks awesome!!!
this is a cool build, i wonder if the front end from your 1st build would suit the ute look better , nice work Godbless

Yes it was one of Wayne's
It was a weird length but perfect for what I needed
Stock finders, early frunk hood, love the old fender bed
Cool build, the pre 1966 fenders and hood would look good
thats one sweet looking toy.
soo fucking cool. I cant wait for the final product.
I would go the glass ones they give the front that low fat look and hug those big wheels nicely
Cheers for the feedback I'm thinking the same
Looks good. Definitely the earlier style hood/bonnet/Frunk 🙂

Thanks for the suggestion
I've widened guards before on my first build on this channel the "grey bug"
It turned out OK
I think that the early narrow front fenders will look better with the bed. Either bonnet is good. It's a cool ute
I like it. Not sure about the wheels. Go with your gut feeling on this project.
Wheels are only for mock up
The primer color bonnet and the wide fenders.
Definately the lower bonet , suits the whole rear style better
Love it!!!

I use to see a lot of them pickup beetles in Mexico
I liked the stock fenders but they would look better if you could make the front of them longer
Looks like a real fun project 👍
Can't wait to get stuck into it
It awesome

Howsit this looks so dope if I can ask what cars bin you're using for this?
Oh and widen the fenders on the rear.
The aftermarket guards look better.
Lose the front fenders! Dan S. Michigan & Texas USA
Rims need to be wider on the back of the on truck okay Thanks Charles Williams your number one fan okay Charles Williams
Saw black one
yep fat front guards , do it for me
GITTER DONE.....
