You sir are amazing, I watched the paper 1's and was able to widen my knowledge significantly with your brilliant explanations, please keep doing more paper 2 content as that is very difficult, Thanks.
Very kind of you to say so, thank you, but the reason I think I can keep my explanations simple is because it is not the subject which I studied the furthest at university. I had to learn computer science in my second year as a teacher due to another teacher leaving. Because I am not a million miles ahead of my students, I can keep my explanations simple. At school, I had a Doctor of a subject teach my class, and we didn’t learn anything, because he wasn’t able to come down to our level.
Thank you! I would love to help, but I teach the OCR specifications at GCSE and A Level and have previously taught A Level AQA so I would have to do some research first and would need to get hold of the past papers.
hi there aagin just a bit concerned at 11:30 as i would like to know if i am in the exam and if it was to be a simnilar scenario would i not get the mark if i did not put start as 3 for line number 3 and vice versa
Can you clarify what you mean? Are you asking if you left the middle column blank, would you get the mark still? (assuming you still output the value of start on line 3)
It’s essentially a test of whether you can follow (trace) an algorithm, and record when variable values change, and when (as directed) you output values. That’s what this type of question is designed/intended to test you on.
@@e.wagwanrappy bro I got a 9 lol, don’t stress too much and you will be fine. I am doing a levels now so I never want to hear the word GCSE every again lmao
It’s a possibility… but I am a teacher full time, and have a last minute revision/AMA session at work the morning of the exam, so need to make the priority the number one priority but I will see.
Ultimately, preparation is on us as individuals, so my advice would be to use whichever resource you prefer (CSNewbs website/IsaacComputerScience website/Craig n Dave channel/BBC Bitesize) and try to do some ‘active recall’ (revise for 30 minutes, do some relevant PPQS for 15-20 mins, then take a short break to refresh/drink/eat/walk around)
I should have done this, as you requested. Just watched around ten minutes of another stream (which was awful) and another doing a ridiculously easy Kahoot!! 🤦🏻♂️
As a teacher, I may well have access to things which aren’t immediately available to all. I have looked on OCR’s public site and cannot see it, so it would be something your teacher can give you to practice with.

Atleast whatever school this teacher teaches got a good teacher. My school be hiring anyone nowadays
I couldn’t comment on that, but thank you.
I hope you found today’s exam accessible.
14:30 the awkwardness after even though it was a good joke 😂😂
you’ve got to be able to laugh at yourself!
Just in case no one else laughs!
Sir this is so helpful please make more of these on ocr
Thanks for your comment, I will do!

Thank you!

sir for 48:27 on line 5 dont you have to typecast num1 and num2 from integers to strings as you cannot concatenate int and str?
If programming, yes, I agree.
But for pseudocode, the rules are less rigid

one will be posted later tonight.
The other either Friday night or (more likely) over the weekend.
these videos are actually entertaining
That was unexpected!
I wasn’t aware that a one hour walkthrough could be entertaining, but thank you!
Bro thanks so much, I actually think I managed to get an 8 overall from being at a 5/6 before
Fingers crossed for you!
did you get an 8

Tks for the video. Can you tell me the answer for the last question please?
I will do, yes
Just uploading a short video now on that Q
Sir, please, for question 4a, if B=1, then will Q= A AND C AND NOT B or Q= A AND C AND B(will the gate of Q be AND or NOT). 36:33
Your first answer, but requires brackets
Q = (A AND C) AND NOT B
@ComputerSyth Thank you so much
@@aaedllo you’re welcome!
Good luck, I hope all went well today?
@@ComputerSyth Yeah kind of
sir where did you find the 2023 practice paper?
As a teacher, I may well have access to things which aren’t immediately available to all.
I have looked on OCR’s public site and cannot see it, so it would be something your teacher can give you to practice with.
My suggestion would be to email your teacher to ask whether they can print a copy or share it with you.
carrying my computer science gcse atm 🤣🤣
I’m sure you’ve done better than you think!
Good luck
I wish i found you before today
Every ex girlfriend said the same at the start too…
What did you find difficult today?
@@ComputerSyth 🤣🤣 Wasn't too bad apart from the last 6 marker, but a 9 may have been guaranteed if i had found this channel earlier

Q myself today, I think that many students have over-thought it.
It was actually simpler than many will realise!
@@ComputerSyth I fear i may have overthought it unfortunately, hoping for an 8
paper 2 is so hard
It can be, but good preparation helps…
And, it is possible to get a grade 6 without writing any programming!
@@ComputerSyth i am aiming for an 8 in all my subjects and this my downfall
btw hows united doing 🤣
