I like him because he gets right to it, he doesn't make you listen to a bunch of intro-music, and he doesn't waste time talking about his garden-cred. He just jumps in, and you immediately start learning, which is what I like.
so true.
Wouldn't trade that outro jingle for the world though. Greg with the voice of an angel
@@LegendLength Ha ha!

As Simple as even a layman can understand. To me its one of the Best Time (approx 5 Mins) utilized by watching your video. I will do as per your instructions. Thank you!!

Wow! Didn't know how easy this is until I watched your video! My friends have been asking for a cut from our pink guava tree but none of us know how to grow a tree from a branch cut from a tree. I learned something useful as I love gardening. Thank you so much!!!
Best video I've seen on how to do cuttings. thanks! :)
Your gardening suggestions are AWESOME!! Thanks you so much and God Bless you for sharing so much of your knowledge and experience with others. We ALL appreciate it!
you should do airlayering mr. garden man especially in the hot climate you live in. it prevents both the mother plant and the cutting from any side effects from the stress of cutting. I've also noticed a lot of plants, even if they successfully root from cutting will wilt, lose all of their leaves and take weeks just to get to the point where they're starting to recover. airlayering allows it to grow normally and root at the same time, and if you use a long section of branch to form roots, you can create a plant that has the ability to grow even faster than a p lant that's been in the ground since seedling, because it has a huge root system and can devote 100 percent of it to a very small amount of vegatation above ground. if you've ever cut down a large plant or tree and left one or two buds on it, you've probobly seen that it grows like crazy.
Greg mate....You are a legend buddy....an aussie icon
Thank you for your help. I look forward to having the same stuff my neighbor's do!

Thanks for putting that Tip on here, I am trying to transplant alder wood cuttings for use as a wind barrier in my Garden. I live in Eastern Ontario Canada and we deal with plant dormancy up here.
!!
Thanks for the video. It was straight to the point. Going to do some pomegranate cuttings today.
Thanks for the short and straight forward explanation!! Awesome tips
I found out that woody plants take roots easily, but if I want to take a cutting out of a tomato plant, I need to cover it to keep the humidity. Great video!
Great video! I am trying to start some bonsai trees from juniper shrub cuts and have put this technique to the test. See you in 4-6 weeks with my results.
Edward Ashburn So what's the result aye?
Gonna try it! I've had good results with my herbs so far, esp. basil. Very easy to make cuttings from that.
tazia hall
You are wonderful and brightened up my day! Thanks so much. :)
Harry Flynn thanks :D
Thank you! i have like a dozen of new cuttings that I've done from my lantana, and hibiscus. I hope they grow on beautifully like yours. Blessings!
Clear and simple . Nice video Greg!
The Brazilian Red Cloak (Megaskepasma erythrochlamys) is ALSO VERY EASY to propagate from cuttings. I received a small cutting in the spring of 2012 and planted the 8 inch Red Cloak in Simi Shade Memorial Day. Grew to a large bush 6 feet high by October and had beautiful red flowers end of October thru early April. A Beautiful addition to my Fort Myers garden. I just started cuttings this spring to give to friends and plant in other areas of my yard.
Agreed, those rooting hormone powder never worked, just a waste of money.
they have all been planted into a hedge and are over 2 feet tall
what can i say , thank you man you are already blessed .
I was never taught to scrape the bark. I can see where that would come into handy. Thanks for making this video. It was extremely helpful. I like many were under the impression that you had to use some sort of root stimulator as well but I guess not. Thanks Greg! :D
thanks that was really helpful. I did just that this morning. Easy Peasy!
Very informative cheers Mr Grego
Hopefully many of the my cuttings will sprout
Fun to watch, I never peeled of the bottom stem, in my cuttings,
I will try that, thank you.
I was going broke trying to hedge off my back fence row, then realized I have a Chinese Privet in my front yard; I'm going to try and take quite a few cuttings from, and hopefully can get that hedge going. Thanks for the tips :)
Straight up info, no bullshit. Thanks Greg
Lovely idiots guide.
Great tip about leaving some leaves as an indicator
thanks for the tips and your flowers are amazing ...thanks for sharing both ..have a sweet night
Thank you. Fingers crossed. I’ve just done everything you said. Took a lovely cutting from a pretty white flower shrub. 🏴
This works. Top class it even works in the cold of Ireland. Greg kept the vids coming because you advice is fool proof. Any tips for a lawn full of weeds? Good luck

greg you are a bloody legend mate.
I just came to say you have an impeccable jawline good sir
You are AWESOME!!! I always wondered about how to do a cutting.
Sarai Bowen thanks :)
Good video. The part about scrapping the bark is news to me and I'll try it next time. I agree with the part about not using transplant powder or anything else, just very loose soil, water, and a cool but bright environment which this video did not cover.
Thank you and hello from Florida !
marktuyet hello and thanks for watching :)
"I'm Greg the Gardner," He says in a Austrailian accent. My class kept on laughing when he said that.

"Ooo, thats nice. I wouldnt mind one of those."
gregthegardener Thanks for the quick and informative video! I was surprised, though, to hear you say to water potted plants every few days. Is that due to warm weather where you live?
If it's dry give it a sprinkle

You made me laugh :)
I bet people do that 😳
it's a good way to expand your plant collection :)
This video was a great help, mate.
Nicely done, Sir! Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Supplementing with rooting hormones and honey is usually just for softwood cuttings as they're rather delicate. But many people apply powder hormone incorrectly anyway... The honey trick is one I haven't tested but probably makes use of honey's ability to draw moisture from the air. Without roots a cutting's ability to draw up a steady amount of moisture would be impared so the honey may help with that....Also the plumeria/frangipanii would probably appreciate being treated as a succulent cutting rather than a hard-wood cutting..... btw, I think you're adorable.
thanks, l am adorable :)
Thanks from Bulgaria too.....
Great video. Did not waste anytime talking nonsense. Give 10 out of 10.
