    Just did a 50km ultramarathon run in these and they were brilliant with the combined extra cushioning and the plate

    Great review, thanks for making it. I ordered these as my first carbon shoes after being a Novablast guy for quite a while. I look forward to running in these as well.

      So how are they? Can you describe the feeling on the roads? Are they good for knees? Are they so bouncy or marshmallowish feeling?

    • @ColinBloodworth
      @ColinBloodworth 4 месяца назад

      @@CODwarjunkie definitely not marshmellow, Leans on the bouncier side. I can feel the roll and push from the plate but it doesn't really bother me. I don't have bad knees currently so I can't say if it's any worse or better on knees. The sole is a little more narrow than my Novablasts so you do need to pay a little more attention to your feet and how you're landing. I can say I run faster in them, though.

    Great in-depth review and good to compare against other shoes. I am now convinced to get them as my new speed day training shoe.

    Thanks for the review.I tried them on in a shoe store only. They felt snappy and comfortable with that extra cushion. I just didn't know if it was the tempo shoe I am looking for. Looking forward to your long term review.

    I am normally a Saucony Endorphin guy and have just tried these Asics on a demo day.
    They are plusher than Endorphin Speed or Pro and were generally very comfortable at a half-marathon distance except for one problem. The heel counter of Asics Magic Speed started digging into my achilles at about 10 miles and was feeling worse with every step. When I looked at them side-by-side with my first-gen Endorphin Pro after the run, I realized the top of the Sauconys heel counter curves slightly away from the heel, while the Asics heel counter doesn’t. Unfortunately it makes a lot of difference for me. Can’t use them.

    The previous metaspeed edge + is now cheaper than the magic speed 4, which would you opt for?

      If it’s for race day, the Metaspeed Edge+, but if it’s just for training, I prefer the extra protection of the Magic Speed 4

    I’m still torn between vaporfly 3 or asics magic speed 4 for my speed session, any suggestions?
    (I’m currently rocking pegasus 38 & novablast 3 for dailies)

      Vaporfly is a much faster shoe and great for race day, but much less durable.
      The Magic Speed 4 has more cushion and is more durable, but still speedy.

      @@tfxcShoesmuch faster?

      I have both and I would agree with TFXC. I use magic speed 4 for my speed sessions and really like them - they feel fast and durable as trainers though suffer on tight turns. In comparison the vaporfly 3s are much lighter and much speedier, however I’m hesitant to use them in my sessions because I feel like they’ll break down faster over time and I’m not ready to shell out more $$$ to replace them. Overall though if you don’t mind spending more for the vaporfly they are gonna be one of the fastest shoes on the market, I just prefer to keep them on ice till I’m going out for a PR on race day

    Anyone recommend an asics shoe suitable for a marathon?

      I've done 3 marathons in the metaspeed sky plus sub 4 hours each. Very nice shoe, bit firm but they feel great. I'm currently using the sky Paris but it feels more like a half Mara shoe.
