    Super impressive to see how your artistic and thematic intent influences your design! Not only does it look fantastic, but it's also emotionally resonant. (Can relate to the theme as someone who has moved to the other end of the country.)

    Beautiful devlog man! I love hearing how deep your game design and narrative go with elements in the game world. It's really amazing to hear that whole thought process and makes me even more pumped for the release!!

    I really relate to this video in the whole going back to a place after a while to see it changed without you thing. I always lived far away from extended family and would experience this every time I visited (which was always several years apart) and it wasn't just places, it was people too. If anything it was worse with people, one time I went after 2-3 years and found most of my relatives now had a more different unique accent (to put it kindly) it was so big of a difference it almost felt like some sort of parallel universe doppelgangers had replaced them. And even the place I've been consistently living in since forever has gradually changed beyond recognition in a slow but extreme process of gentrification
    You haven't just made a rock interesting, you made it relatable lol

      It's such a peculiar feeling and I don't know if there's really a word for it? Anyways I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who gets that feeling, and happy to hear you can relate to the rock :D

    I was kind wowed how the dev decided to change everything and make a new game but I think I was happier and more entrained with the new game then the old one.

    This project is so incredible! I have a quick question, how do you make the colour only apply within the circle? Im workikg on a game where i want to switch between the past and present state of a location (within a kind of circular definied zone), and your effect is insanely cool!

    Since we are in control of the dog most time in the game, have you ever thought about using dog vision? I mean, instead of only the grey scale, incorporate yellow and blue on a low hue. Wouldn't that fit while being in control of a dog?

    • @kylebanks
      @kylebanks  9 месяцев назад +1

      Yep! A lot of the game has a blueish hue in the "uncolored" world for that reason, but I started bringing in other hues for variety.

    Well-written. You set up multiple ideas for callbacks-without the audience being aware you were doing it-and paid each one off by the end. Even the laser eyes.
    If I were going to give any critique it would be on the delivery, and I know you're already performing multiple sets of skills here,
    including video editing, video game development and writing, but here's one for your voice acting as well, lol:
    In the movie Naked Gun, which you may have seen, with Leslie Nielsen, in the director's commentary one of the guys says, in
    reference to directing Priscilla Presley's acting, he said that she should act as genuine as possible, and don't try to be funny because she had been hamming it up a bit. Let the script be funny, you just act.
    That's the same advice I'd give, and I'm aware that it probably doesn't matter that much, but I guess when you're on RUclips every little bit counts. Don't try to ham up an already excellent and amusing script. Let the writing be funny, and you just sincerely read it out.
    Great stuff, my friend, you've come a long way, as has your game. Godspeed.
