  • Bill continues trying ways to get the coqui frogs to shut up. Nothing in Hawaii needs to make that much noise in order to breed!

I was in puna last week and all of a sudden the frogs stopped croaking. A really weird sudden silence. 2 seconds later, an earth quake hit. Not a fix obviously, but a unique experience/observation. Oh yah, Hi Gracy kitty 😊

Interesting, one more example of animal behavior. It appears the frog killing Chytrid fungus never made it here. I always figured coqui survival was because they do not breed in water. The other day I had a bull Frog show up. If we had the Chytrid fungus we wouldn't have Bull Frogs.

I've had that happen before. Somehow they can sense it before we can. I looked up the explanation for it, but I forgot.

Interesting. Thanks for sharing with us. I hope to live there one-day. It's nice to hear from somebody there about stuff like this. Best regards.

I sure wish the frogs didn't want to live here!

@@starchild824 Ducks will eat when they can find one. These are tree frogs and they are nocturnal. Ducks are diurnal and mostly ground dwelling. If they uncover one they will chase it though. My cat does the same thing but hates the taste.
