Tony uses his effects pedals, including Aguilar’s Chorusaurus and Fuzzistor, to paint a vast sonic soundscape full of inspired improvisation and otherworldly tones.
The audio for this recording was captured via the DI output of the Tone Hammer 500 as well as a Royer R-122 MKII microphone in front of the SL 112 cabinet.

I bought this exact setup last month. Tone hammer 500 and 2 SL112 cabs. Best bass amp I have ever owned. Just about all the AGUILAR demos here at youtube seem to showcase very modern style bassists and 5 and 6 string active basses. I really think this amp truly shines with old school passive FENDER Jazz and Precision basses. Wonderful warm and vintage tone. It really sounds awesome with basses that have flatwound strings. This is the ideal amp to transition to when you get too tired of loading and lugging your massive all tube heads and accompanying fridge sized cabs. You will not miss any tone and you will save so much space and weight.

I just took delivery of a TH500 and one SL112. I love it, but now find it inevitable to get a second cab. You have swung the pendulum for me. ;)

I have a jaco fretless and not sure to buy the sl series (ceramic mag) or db series (neo mag) cab to go with my th350.
Could you give me any tips?
I’m glad I (finally) found somebody else who uses primarily a “free stroke” style of articulating with their plucking hand. After spending the last year trying to incorporate the “rest pause” (striking thru the string, coming to rest on the next string) style, I still find it awkward (old habits die hard).
I also love your right hand muting technique with your thumb. Very nice.
