Thanks for the detailed video. Really appreciate your help. Just want to know that you have been to the Vat refund counter twice. Do they ask for the box at the first vat refund counter before security check? Or I can just keep the drone in the given bag and show it to them.
Thank you watching, I'm in Bangkok right now and will be flying to Bangalore again in few days. I try to share my recent experience soon. Now that the policy is changed. I have uploaded a new video from Suvarnabhumi airport itself. Please watch that video for latest updates.
Delhi customs are same as Mumbai bro. You have to put hand baggage for screening. They just check for gold, phones or Electronics with boxes. Just keep your drone in check in bag and batteries in hand baggage. You'll be good. Remember the more nervous you act, the chances of an officer stopping is higher.
bro .. i am going to delhi next month from china >thailand >delhi .i have dji mini 3 .please tell me some suggestion to bring drone .i do not have any idea about this .
Nothing bro, just keep the drone in your check in bag and batteries in hand baggage. You will be good. I'm at Bangkok airport right now, taking my drone back home again. Just be normal while crossing security at Delhi airport.
Yes, you can keep in cabin baggage as well. Custom checks are random in some airports and mandatory in some. However, keeping it in check in bag reduce the headache at the airport and customs.
Bro, Avata is a small drone. Pack it without battery in check in bag and put the batteries in hand baggage. If possible multiple bags and put them in different trays during custom check. You will be good 👍
The only rule is to register your drone in Thailand if you're staying in the country for over 30 days. However, it's important to respect privacy while flying your drone. Don't go too close to public or private properties like hotels and resorts. One complaint can put you in trouble. I fly my drone on beaches and places like big Buddha n all without any problem. Big no for Bangkok city. Hope this will help.
Yes, that's what the Thailand authorities have mentioned on their website. "You must register with NBTC within 30 days of entering Thailand or purchasing a drone in Thailand even if you do not fly it." Information from NBTC website: www.feic.co.th/nbtc-thailand-drone-registration/
hey, i have a query. i will be flying from india to thailand. i will be talking my drone with be. did u face any challenges with respect to flying the drone in thailland. my complete stay will be in koh samui only. did u have to register ur drone with thailand authority before flying?
Hey There, carrying a drone outside India is very easy. I just carry all of it in my handbag and go through security. Regarding Registration in Thailand. If you plan to stay in Thailand over 30 days. You need to register the drone. If you stay in Samui is less than 30 days, no need to worry about registration. No issues flying in Thailand. Just respect people privacy and you're good. Problem with Koh Samui is the airport is very close to the city centre and as per the rule you need to be 9km away from any kind of airfield. Just be careful with that.
Hey, thank you for the information. I just want to know how much Thai Bhat you paid, the store name in Central Mall, and whether they accept Forex cards (MMT, NEO, ETC.).
Hello, I paid 37,390 in total and got 2050 baht as VAT refund later on. The store name is Big Camera and they have several stores across Thailand. As far as the card is visa or master Card, they accept the forex cards as well.
@@NomadicExplorista Is that security checking done after the VAT refund or before? If before, then how do you carry a drone in check-in baggage? and how much time it hardly takes for this whole VAT refund process.
Hi, There are 2 counters at the airport. One before check in which will verify the product and stamp the form as verified. Next count us after immigration, which will check the form, online data and your passport. Product is only checked at the second counter is its above 50k or items like gold. Even if they ask you to show the product, just show the DJI bag and pretend as you're trying to remove. 1st counter = 5 minutes 2nd counter =5-10 minutes Depending on the crowd and time you visit. Check out my recent video on VAT refund new updates.
@@NomadicExplorista Okay, or if I have a billing amount above 50k baht, then I have to carry products with me for the second counter as well after the immigration and checkin, right? So is that an issue at the arrival point in India if I carry a drone with me in my hand luggage in open condition without boxes like used products?

Congrats bro on your new drone 🎉. What about the box can we fold it and bring in check in or cabin luggage or better to leave it there in thailand. And one more thing during VAT refund they don't ask for box of the drone if asked what to say ?? Please reply 😊❤
Thank you bro, no didn’t ask for the box. In fact they did not even see if the drone was inside the box or not. But better to carry the drone until before the baggage drop point/check-in. Box is not important bro but if you want to keep it, yes fold it and put it in your check in baggage. Watch the latest video for updated pricing and vat information. DJI Air 3 is around 750gm. If you remove the battery 270gms, maybe you can follow the steps showed in the video and bring it to India. However, you must register it in india.
Hi Rohit, you don't need anything to buy a drone anywhere. You can in most public places (check DJI map). However, if you are staying in Thailand for over 30 days. Then you need to register the drone. Most of us stay for a week or 10 days only. So, no need to register.
Hello Sir, will customs seize/confiscate the drone if I bring DJI mini 4 pro to Bangalore from Thailand? Should I take any pre-cautionary measures to ensure my drone is not seized?
It's recommended to register. However the rules are not very strict for drones below 250gms. Just make sure you don't fly in restricted areas. For Thailand, you can skip registration if you're staying for less than 30 days. When are you going to BKK?
Oh nice, I'm coming with one of my subscriber to Bangkok on April 11. Assisting him buying Drone and also covering the Songkran festival (Thailand New year and world's largest water festival).
