really?? im a huge elvis fan named my 1st son after him, aaron presley but it was supposed to be aron but hospital screwed up and he was a great drummer
I'm also a drummer and when I was 12, I saw Ronnie Tutt play in the aloha tour live on TV. He had so much energy and showmanship that I couldn't take my eyes of his fantastic playing. He really lit up the Elvis Band just like Buddy Rich did with his big band. Ronnie was giving 110% in that fantastic concert. I never heard a rock and roll drummer play like that at such a fast pace.
Elvis always gave his band equal time.nobody did that back then. 3 minute bass solos, drum solos,he would let his backup singers sing without him..he would put his whole band on billboards with him..coolest guy ever
@blindtoby NO DUMMY, I DON'T THINK ELVIS KNEW HOW TO PLAY THE DRUMS, BUT HE SURE DID KNOW HOW TO SING, PLAY THE GUITAR, AND PLAY THE PIANO!!! AMONG OTHER AMAZING THINGS!!!! RONNIE TUTT, IS THE MOST AMAZING DRUMMER EVER!!!!❤️💯🌹❤️❤️❤️👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
❤Shout Out to Wonderful amazing Ronnie Tutt❤ So proud thats my FAMILY❤🎉 65 yrs old its my birthday😊 Shout out to Ronnie Tutt that encourage me to never stop drumming❤cardio drumming to Elvis and Ronnie Music. +Kenneth Williams He sure did. I tell all my friends Elvis had the best band of the 70's hands down. Don't forget Glenn on the piano, he's no slouch either.
Ronnie,u had the priveledge of playing with the best dude on the planet. I can imagine the memories u must have thruout those yrs. Your still tops in my book brother :).. Keep rockin it out man
There are drummers and there are drummers this man was a kings drummer that’s more than impressive to have on your cv and a huge honour Ronnie your a one man orchestra god bless you and not forgetting the king (RESPECT) live love and leave a legacy ❤
Each move, each hit, each beat is carefully orchestrated and felt. This man had a purpose for every drum he included...right down to the cowbell. Genius
Superb player and human had the pleasure of meeting him at Paiste day Nashville as we are both Paiste cymbal artists. He was super gracious and we had a great long chat about Elvis who I was named after and officers drumming and music 😇
Ronnie was my main influence as a kid. It was Ronnie that gave me my first dreams of becoming a drummer. I heard some of his stuff with Garcia and later Diamond, but was in a total different genre by then. Thanks Ron! You hard workin son of a gun!
I tried to air drum with him on suspicious minds and couldn't keep up....and I've been drumming thirty years!!! Such raw talent rarely seen these days. Rip Ronnie ❤️❤️❤️
Drummers might be interested to know that this kit is actually a Ludwig Vistalite. It has a chrome wrap. Ronnie loved the way this kit projected. It was loud as hell. Lol.
,Ronnie . I started playing at the age of 7 the trumpet .When I first heard you on the drums Wow.I laid the horn down against my fathers wishes and got a set of drums at 11 and tried to learn to play like you.Ive had an amazing career singing and playing drums for over 40 years You have been an awsome inspiration and you still are .I would love to meet you it would be a dream come true .I just watched you play a concert with Elvis and you inspire me and my Soul Thankyou. Stew .
Howdy from Dallas Texas! Ronnie Tutt is an autograph that I would definitely like to have on one of the albums that he was on, I had no idea he was from my hometown, all I know is that he is a legendary drummer! Long Live Elvis's last drummer Ronnie Tutt
When i was kid and this aired, i was only 6 years old, but was already immediately drawn to the drums. I now play professionally, and have a few things to say about this man's playing. When you listen to what he's doing on this live version of That's Alright Mama, most hard rock drummers would never imagine that this guy would pull a double bass drum pattern as many 80's hard rock bands would regularly do, most notably Alex Van Halen, Tommy Aldridge, and Tommy Lee, which is the shuffle double bass drum pattern, sounding like a jackhammer. Ronnie Tutt achieved this on a rockabilly tune that Elvis' first drummer, the late and great D.J Fontana created. He managed to take a classic rock n roll drum pattern, and modernized it n the 70's on an Elvis tune no less.. That, is superior drumming.. Mr. Tutt is the man !!
sir you are so right, if you follow from when he got into the TCB band forward you can certainly tell that E recognized the talent and after awhile just gave him the green light. I saw Elvis maybe 10 times as a kid w my parents, and when E entered the stage and Ronnie went into that intro, it sounded like the roof was gonna cave, but it was tight, not all scattered. Ronnie had never played double bass, and said if there was ever a time this would be it, he never looked back and E loved it, love that intro to this day, aint no doubt who that is
"Elvis's whole act " was brilliantly choreographed nothing was not upper level, all involved held the title of being the best, including stage hands, sound engineers, backup singers YOU NAME IT
Ronnie Tuff is the best drummer ever. He played for Elvis all those years an made the special video of Elvis in different concert an the one he made that went all over the world.... Elvis will always be the best entertainer an the king for ever an always. I miss an luv u Elvis . Still watch your concert videos there so amazing. 😮🎉❤An Ronnie is so fantastic on the drums. I luv u also Ronnie. RIP.
Wow!!! Ronnie Tutt.....you sure are the greatest drummer of all time. Elvis certainly knew what he was doing when he chose you to be the drummer for his TCB Band. Liek Elvis.....you gave it your all
A great drummer who had to watch Elvis with his hand legs , body movements! So spot on with all live video footages I’ve seen!! As a soloist, very very basic Tom fills !! The King must have told him off to make it simple and not complicated!! lol Thanks for sharing this video too !! ❤
BEST DRUMMER EVER!!! LOOK AT HOW HE PUTS HIS HEART INTO THE DRUMS!!! AMAZING!!!!! HE REALLY IS ON ACCORD WITH THE DRUMS, NOT LIKE THESE LIFELESS DRUMMERS,, RONNIE TUTT, YOUR'E THE MAN!!!! BRILLIANT DRUMMER, I JUST LOVE TO SEE HIM IN ELVES PRESLEY'S VIDEOS👏💜💜💜👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏💋🌹
Real nice of Elvis to turn his spotlight over to someone as great as Ronnie Tutt -- live in concert. Terrific moment. I'll bet Ronnie remembers it to this day.
This man made Elvis' show come together. I realize how difficult it must have been to do it night after night. He set everyone in motion! Cindy Rutter, your Dad is the greatest drummer of all time!
Elvis is still loved, admired and respected today for himself because he was absolutely immensely multitalented and not because of someone else. Period.

Same here. I started on the drums around age 7 and that album and Ronnie just blew me away! Wore it out.
Elvis always gave his band equal time.nobody did that back then. 3 minute bass solos, drum solos,he would let his backup singers sing without him..he would put his whole band on billboards with him..coolest guy ever
Elvis was surrounded by talent he had JD Sumner the greatest bass singer of all time.
Sure they did, drum solos were the norm back in the 70’s. Plus this was fat Elvis, he needed a break
