The fact that 70 year old music written for cheesy monster movies for kids, can still be used in the newer, more serious movies and not detract from the tone shows how amazing and timeless Ifukube's work is. Sure, it's rearranged to one degree or another, but the melodies themselves, which sound right for the light showa films, do not seem to age with how catchy they are and how applicable they remain. Minus One used a theme for the train attack that I don't think was utilized since Mothra vs. Godzilla all the way in 1964. Very little was changed arrangement-wise, and it didn't feel like it didn't belong. I love just how synonymous Godzilla's music is to him. It will always work.
Hell, I'm blown away by the fact that "G" is now the longest running movie franchise ever--and an Oscar winner to boot. Not bad, not bad at all. Even a modern composer like Bear McCreary showed mucho respect to Ifukube's legacy when he scored 'KOTM'.

You try out a recreational of the suite of Godzilla 2014- a few good takes are the entry theme, 2 against one, victory theme, and ending theme. Just a suggestion since you're good at making orchestral versions of different Godzilla iterations, and I thought 2014's had a good music sample to cover 👍🏾👁👍🏾

I disagree, monstarmash is way better. Philip version sounds too synthetic while monstarmash's straight up sounds like a revamped version of the original soundtrack.
whenever i come back to this video i think of how much godzilla has changed over the years and i will be honest i am not a big fan of the monsterverse i hope there were more solo movies with godzilla and kong and they used classic musics like this.
