Raw explanation.... procure to pay process. Everything starts at the front desk. If the front desk staff (or as I call them, "the feet on the street") is incompentent , underpaid or plain ole just doesnt give a sh*t, you will never truly capture every dollar that a typical "billing department" leaves on the table.
Agreed. 100%. The front-end kicks off the revenue cycle & if they put garbage into start, it's garbarge out or a lot of cleanup that most do not do in time to get paid.

Considering going into revenue cycle management/ consultant, I am beginning my BS in Healthcare Admin and already have 3 years experience in appeals & grievances. Are there any recommended entry level jobs that you recommend I apply for to gain relevant work experience?
That's a tricky question, since there are so many different types of entry level positions in this field. Since you already have some experience in that area, I would suggest going back into appeals or possibly looking at other assistant level positions in other areas of the revenue cycle.
