When Agon said the video was “fake” but not exactly I did a sigh of relief because if it was actually a spoiled kid I would’ve felt so bad for the mother.
I hope the kid gets the help he needed, mental illness can ruined so many life's if untreated, and the fact that the mother's friend exaggerated the story doesn't help it, it just makes it worse for the kid

As an Asian I remember growing up with my grandma cause my mom is an OFW working abroad. My mom said that I used to be spoiled to my grandma when I was young and I use to be so stubborn and rude to other people that after my mom got home she cannot tolerate such attitude of mine so my mom always teach me a lesson by scolding me, spanking at others. Apart from that as an teenager for now, I also realize that it is also important to be disciplined properly as a kid cause what good things we learn from childhood can be brought up until we grow up as an adult.

The women's son ( who's 15 and has a mental illness ) was going through a episode which made him do it.
The women's friend ( I presume ) took the vid and posted it with a different title ( the 12yr old story ).
My mom really gets me what i want. But i swear i would never do what this kid did. Because i learned to be grateful for what i have and not take it for granted.

Back when I was 12 I destroyed some expensive decorations in my house. I did this simply because I couldn't take the abuse from my father anymore. He kept pushing all the responsibilities on my mother and later assault her and my siblings for just existing. Overtime the stress started getting to me and I lost a huge chunk of my memories, now I can't remember a goddamn thing, unless I read it for 10 times. So yeah, not all Gen Z's are dumb and spoiled. Peace was never an option since I wasn't given one. The older generation has rotten to the point were toxicity has no end. Here’s a full on explanation from my side (a not adult):
Adults these days are honestly irritating. A lot of them keep on complaining about their kids being glued to their screens, when they’re actually learning how to code, how to transfer cryptocurrency, and other things that can be future jobs. Yes, some kids are spoilt and throw a huge tantrum, but the only reason they would do that would be lack of education, WHICH IS THE PARENT’S DUTY. For example, a few years ago, I was complaining about me going to bed at ridiculous times. If my mum was in a bad mood, she’d give me six o’clock bedtimes on the dot. I was into gaming and had a small interest on coding, which I later learned. My mum would use all the same excuses I gave as examples. In reality, all they were doing back then ‘in the olden days’, was reading so many books and playing so much frizbee that all of their items would have to be replaced on a regular basis, and often caused just as much cost as children do with their screens. Some parents growed up in the 90s, with still as much screen time as we do, if they were in a rich family. No child is the same but no child is born more or less picky. That’s how life works.

as a 13 year old who went though a stressful and depressed episode for a year and a half now, yes this is actually true, if parents forcefully pushed their kids too far, ignoring their mental problems and feelings then the kid would have forced himself to do horrendous things and causing thousands of property damages and even ending their life when they dont get attention even after destroying every furniture in the house
I would do that eventually. I'm fucking sick with my mom putting pressure and high expectations, I almost have this strong urge to burn down the house again just like I did to my child's self, like no remorse, ever.

In India, there is not thing like not touching your children, its always like, beating your children if they do bad things, but not that much that they are seriously injured.

This is what I'm afraid of today's generation of kids. When parents are too soft their kids will be spoiled, and when parents are too hard people call it abuse. The worst mistake the parents would make is by giving their kids their own devices at the age of 7-12. I can already see it in my own relatives and their kids have their own devices. Ironically I too am a spoiled kid back then for owning a (potato) pc and laptop but I'm glad that I didn't fall into such spoiled lunacy
Ps: PC or Laptop is something that's not all people capable of owning, but people afford to buy phones and tablets. I got my first ever phone at age 16 thanks to my strict mom (I love you mom) now I'm 19 🗿

I was raised in the mid 50's. My mom was strict and she had "rules". She applied them to her 5 kids at an early age. And I raised my son that way. Oh, she raised us to have manners and respect for yourself and others. And my family turned out to be pretty decent people.

If you said my siblings, you are correct. So basically my siblings all they do is stick with their own devices all day. The problem is that they can’t get off on their own phone or any devices. So for example my 1st younger brother all he does is scream and yell and acts so goofy. While my 2nd all he does is cry like baby and scream the same way as his brother. For my sister who acts spoiled. Let me tell you an example of how. Whenever her mom ask her questions or tells her to do something she just start being rudely with no reason and being so selfish all day. It’s the reason why she hasn’t changed yet. And sometimes she acts goofy. So that was all I can say

This is what no disciplined ,addiction and reliant on social media and the Internet has done to our children . It needs to be have a age limit. No children under 16 is aloud on social media or use of the Internet outside school. And real discipline and respect and boundaries should be taught.

I agree! And I apologise for some of the spoiled kids of my generation. Some kids these days have bad behaviour, who have to be disciplined. Aren't parents allowed to teach their children a lesson by giving them punishments such as being locked in the laundry room for a few minutes, or spanking/scolding them? These punishments are not harsh! As an Asian, I've gone through that (especially the slipper) but these spoiled brats actually need to be disciplined!
