@@ScribeBookSchool sorry, Tucker said that you need a traditional publishing deal to make it onto the NYT list but of course people like Goggins and Haddish were self published. How did they make it if they weren't with a traditional publisher? Did NYT just pick them for cultural relevance x sales?
Ah, my apologies- I misread your original question. Yes, I believe it was picked up due to massive sales AND he had distribution in relevant book stores due to demand. Most self published books simply can’t get that level of distribution outside of online sales.
