That's B's and we all definitely need to fight this. But then asking us to register and insure our Ebikes won't happen over night. It's all been shown that it will take over 2yrs for insurance companies to be able to fig out a way to classify and insure our Ebikes because there is nothing like that for insurance. But yes we all still need to fight this and please everyone sign the petition. Thanks Erock hope to ride with you guys soon. I will be hitting the group rides soon. And you should be careful locking your bike up to a sign like that. I see a guys bike get stolen easy from being locked to a pole like that. 2 guys came up and lifted it up off the sign. They got caught only because I reported it happening.
Luckily there's been a lot of push back in NJ because of how it affects small businesses. Maybe next they'll ban cars because there are too many accidents on the road 🤦🏻♂️

Yeah they changed it where no “cars” can pick up there. I can walk up, but he considered my bike a motor vehicle so I couldn’t argue with him…
They just need to crack down on the reckless e bikers, leave the careful riders alone

@@ErockRodz all they can do is ban them from downtown sidewalks and put speed limits in those areas. I carry the law in my phone. I'm also a law clerk
How many years did it take for Lyric Cycles to deliver your bike to you?

As of now I don’t hear about any special licensing in NJ at least, but they are pushing for registering and insurance..
I think moped and uber delivery bikers really ruined it for us man. You got these crazy bikers driving on sidewalks and running lights and hitting people then taking off. Then you got the guys who don't know anything about batteries buy these cheap batteries or batteries that are not compatible with their bikes then get surprised when they start overheating or exploding. I think education is needed and maybe a special license for ebikes, I think registration is a little over the top for something that can only go 25 mph max

I don't know about that. But what I see is dumb people doing wheelies and not wearing a helmet is pretty stupid. I'm an ebike rider. I'm just saying.
It does not correct. The issue is not the moped, the registration system. It is really hard to make a registration modified e bike as a moped, and many bikes are staying grey area. And actually the registration is does not necessary, because the average cycle(not an e bike) travel speed is 20~30 mph. So, the speed is really not matter of the issues. The real issue is many owners just want to stay their status, because of the cycle path using benefit. If someone's bike is in the status of the E bike, they can access full of road, but once they register as moped, they could not access the cycle lane or other(crosswalk or side walk, depend on the states law or county rules) path. In fact, there is no benefit for registration. If the law or regulation said, the PEV can access any road, depend on the drive mode, means if the operator use class II mode, either they are register or not, I think people would be register their bikes, but now, the meaning of registration is just give up some parts of benefit and using a full power on the street.
Another issue is, because of the VIN issue, it is really hard to register e-bike as a moped. May be, some model that they have VIN(Onyx, Hucks, Spark, Lyric or some other), they could do that, but most of bikes cannot be registered.
Just whole situation is dumb. But, it is only for the some people who has a high powered E bike, and in the most case, we do not need to register and have a license, because, Cycle does not need. In the legal understanding, E bike is not a motorized vehicle, in the US standard. It is treating as cycle. So, if really some states tried to those things, they need to do same thing to the CYCLE.

That's an issue. We can vote, but we are not enough number for making effect. Now, I think we have to have some strategy, because, whole e bike in our country(not states) are probably 1~2 million and the number of owner could be less than a million. So we are minority, and many ratio of ownership is concentrating in NY or NYC. So, in a local perspectives, we are very few numbers.
It need to be some possible and effective strategy with the number based, and we need to persuade a potential owners too. I think probably 15% of population is e Bike friendly or at least they are riding e bike more than once in a month. So, the situation is not perfectly dark, but not so bright.
