Lanjia Saoras - Journey with a Shaman

The practise of shamanism is an integral part of tribal culture in many parts of the world. However, with advances in science and the spread of technology shamanism is steadily being forgotten. Lanjia Saoras one of the most iconic tribes of Odisha has been known for its rich shamanic culture together with an elaborate mural tradition. This presentation is all about one of the last surviving shamans of Lanjia Saura tribe.

Thank you very much for posting this video. I have been looking for information about Orissa tribal shamans for a while. I read about them in a book written by a western Anthropologist.
