Dave Angel, his musical career started when he borrowed an old electronic keyboard from a friend and, using a double tape deck, assembled a bassline and drum track, over which he laid "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" by Eurythmics. He called the result his Nightmare mix and borrowed money from a friend to press 500 copies. When BMG, and thus the Eurythmics, learnt of this, Annie Lennox wanted to prevent the sale of what was in effect an unlicensed version of their song; however, her partner Dave Stewart liked the mix, and persuaded her to allow Angel to go ahead. The track, involving elements of jazz, Detroit techno, and breakbeat hardcore, was successful, reaching number 23 in the UK Singles Chart.

I have this version ( which is excellent ),same album cover in 12inch.Haven't played it in years, as I don't have a record player. It sits safe in my otterman,with all my other vinyl,but too hear it again on here is brilliant! I'm going to find some of my other tunes from 1990/91...see ya, but gonna listen to this again before I go ,dream,dream, it all becomes a dream & let us see what will become of these dreams
i've have this on a bootleg vinyl and never knew who actually did this rmx....nice mix angel... the other side of this is a rmx of strange love by depeche mode...it's on a label called ballroom and it says mastered for dj's only it has a disco ball green/white label # d780 ...1995
Appreciated(!) - though shame this is so low-fi... I had the 12" in the early 90's - loved it! Interesting to hear how this has aged. I need to listen to more of his work - especially original tracks.

Yep. Octagon Man Demented Spirit for me too. Direct - Let It Ride (Remix) / Techno Gone Mad aswell. But yes, Demented Spirit/Free-er Than Free is deep in the drum track.
got the record...but in the break at full spectrum..the bass should be having a lot more impact.. love the song. Do NOT like the compression... but a BIG thankz anyway.. ;)
But...where is Sweet Dreams??? Just a sampled voice over a competely different music don´t make a song what it is... there is something called "melody", that is the most important part of a song too...
