After all, "would you kindly" is the trigger phrase, and he wasn't saying "Obey." Ryan is a russian-american. He was speaking Russian. Specifically, he was repeating the word "Kill."

After you get help (after killing the man who built the city), you aren't affected by the "Would You Kindly" anymore. So, he was referring to the player as the slave following Atlas.
