The CAT is one fast boat. It can get you from Yarmouth, NS to Bar Harbour, ME a lot faster than driving the land route through New Brunswick. I remember they used to even allow gambling on board before any casinos opened in the Maritime provinces.
Yet another exemplary video. Great locales, a fascinating trip, professional camera work and editing and loveable presenters. It's such a delight to watch your videos
That looked like a great ferry trip and the boat looked very nice with lots of amenities. Looked like great weather too. Thanks for the excellent video. 👍
I'm so glad you had a good passage. We took the cat a few years ago. It was a nightmare. The seas were so bad , even though it was a beautiful day when we left shore. We were sick for a week. We had to cancel all plans. The port authority said it happens often.
Excellent video, you descriptions are just enough and you wander as we also do. Now you put another enjoyable future Zion SRT trip on our list. What beautiful days!
We've been on this kind of ferry from New Brunswick to Nova Scotia - it was awesome and a real time saver but not super economical from cost point of view. Great break for the driver, though.
Did they have gambling machines onboard? I rode on the old cats 20 years ago and they did. It was rough and everybody was throwing up beside me and all of a sudden WHAM. We hit something and the whole ship shuttered and gambling machines flipping over and ever body started screaming. I said damn we must have hit a whale. Captain claimed a wave, but it seemed a lot more solid of a hit. After 9/11 they sold all the cats off and it was 10 years before they got new ones. The cats I rode on went to China to run between islands.
Finally caught up to your latest video after starting right from the very beginning of the camper van series! Please visit Vancouver BC when you get a chance! It's been voted as 1 of the top 5 places to live in the world for the longest time now. Hope to see you guys some time! We're highly considering getting a camper van because of you. Safe travels!
Yyc Dispatcher modern marvels, on HISTORY did quite a feature, as they said as big as she is, it does 34knots, not to shabby, no props all high speed warmer thrust w it’s very large turbines.
Hi guys I'm a new subscriber love 😍 watching your vlogs. I'm from England 🏴 UK 🇬🇧 after a busy day at work i watch your vlogs and at night helps me relax having two boys it's very busy actually make that 3 boys forgot about my husband lol 😂. Such beautiful and interesting places you go to just love it. Thanks guys 💕
You could do with flashing a little map up on screen when talking about traveling between places for us that are not from usa/Canada and don't know the geography that well. It's a hassle to have to pause the video and load a map up. Thanks for the video
Will probably be months (several probably) before it would be an 'issue' for me; ... but I've wondered how fruit being "thrown away" was interpreted. From what I've heard/read, the problem with fruit is possible pest(s)/diseases being introduced; ... the majority of fruit I purchase is for smoothies, so wondered if having the fruit in 'smoothie' form with husks/peels/etc. trashed is allowed or still prohibited??? Any idea, thoughts???
great video. I'm thinking in a couple weeks about driving all the way up to the tip of Maine and going to Hopewell rocks and work my way around through Lunenburg Digby Peggy's Cove all the way to Yarmouth. What did it cost to cross from Yarmouth to Portland if you don't mind me asking?
not sure if the info's somewhere and i missed it but...really curious to know how long was the entire ride on Cat....90 minutes I saw from comments??? anyhooo loved it. great view for reading
In the galley on a ferry? Does the dog have to be certified in Nova Scotia, or can they be certified in the US? In BC, USA certified dogs, do NOT count. I am currently going through the paperwork to BC certify a US certified Canine Companion for Independence dog.
Just traveled both ways on the CAT, excellent way to travel to Nova Scotia. I traveled there between June 24th and July 4th 2018

great video!!! We took that trip 20 years ago and it is still one of our favorites!! Welcome home...

Awesome !! The editing keeps getting better and better. “practice makes everything better “
That looked like a great ferry trip and the boat looked very nice with lots of amenities. Looked like great weather too. Thanks for the excellent video. 👍
Thank you again for your beautiful videos and great storytelling. Happy travels to you both.
Glad you got to see the tidal bore and all. Nova Scotia is a beautiful province. Sorry you didn't like Yarmouth or our lighthouse though.
We just took the ferry over to Newfoundland with our fifth wheel - so far its been an amazing experience! staying here for two months :)
I’ve never been on that ferry, but I’d like to someday, if they ever get it running again
Way cool. Looks like a very modern ship.
If you are still in Portland area, down the street from where you got off, Beckys Restaurant, fast service and excellent food.
Great Video! I just got done reading your book, can’t wait for the next one....
That Cat ferry is huge. The only ferries I've been on were little ones that took people from St. Charles Mo to Grafton Illinois.

Great info. Looks like fun and a perfect way to get from Nova Scotia to Maine or vice versa. Thanks.
Thanks! We are doing this next year.

Wow, The Cat is super nice!
Would be nice if they had ferries like this across the Great Lakes too, and Ik they have these ferries from Washington to some parts of BC too
Great video! So enjoyed the ride with you two!
The Ferry boat looks a lot nicer than the BC Ferries. A nicer set up. Thanks for sharing!
34 knot cruise! Whoa that thing is bookin’!

Again Thanks For Sharing, Love Watching Your Tours To Different Places !!
very cool ferry, thank you
The ferry sucks now. I was there. Its was a 5 and a half hour ride then when it came back. 7 hours of sailing. They should use higher speed.
My wife and I really need to do that trip. We live in NH, and spend a lot of time in Maine.
Nice video, wish you'd showed a little more of the high tech bridge, I'm sure the visit was interesting.

Cool. I've always wanted to take the CAT! Don't know if I could commit to doing it with my car though. Still, great to see the inside of it.
That was cool!

In Nova Scotia we call that thing the Vomit Comet...Btw you missed Newfoundland referred to as the rock, that's one awful nice place.
Back in my home city-Portland!
Nice ride!
Love your videos
I absolutely love your videos . Just wondering how many miles have you currently done in your van?
I may have missed it but did you guys ever do a video that said why you cut your hair (Kait)☺?
Great vid, longer pls
That is so cool!
WRTR family, please remind me the reason why Cait shaved her head...

Wait a minute.....what da F! You went all the way to Canada, and didn't explore PEI, NFLD, Qc, Labrador.... why sweet jesus!
Hi!!!!!!!!

I believe he said 5+ hours early in the video.
could you also tow a 6x12 trailer on the ferry along with your car?
Great vid. How long did the crossing take?
RangerDave1959 5 1/2 hours
Are non service dogs allowed...or must they remain in the van?
Likely not. In BC, EVEN real service dogs from the US that are not approved by the BC government cannot leave the car.
Cedar Forest
Thank you for the info.
In Nova Scotia, as long as a service dog is certified as a service dog, people have the right to keep the service dog with them.

I'm probably missing it, but what is the cost of the ferry? Great video. I subscribed.
I wanted to know also.
When do you come to Europe
$400 for ferry ??
👍👌😎✌🏻
So wierd that they dont have WiFi on board.......very stone age.......
