I'm convinced that the uncanny valley doesn't exist, and that it's just social hysteria over an invented phenomenon. Looking at the whole thing, I don't have a single feeling of fear or disgust. Exceptions are feelings of admiration at the progress that has been made by the sheer labor of sculptors, designers, and psychologists. Only something that is specifically designed to scare can scare. Because of this hysteria, hyper-realistic animation is unpopular in the west, and very much for nothing. The answer is.. Don't fucking open your eyes when you're kissing someone, you creep. You deserve to be shamed for this. People that open their eyes to "check" what the other person is doing while kissing are the worst kind of people. What do you think they're doing or you're going to see? They're literally less than an inch away, currently preoccupied kissing you. It's just unfathomable to me why anyone would do this after the first time when they're a teenager or w/e and made to feel awkward for it. 11:03 is from a really great horror podcast called the Magnus Archives, they employ a lot of uncanny valley stuff in it!
I know the uncanny lady was pretty disturbing and she said she'd kill me and stuff, but she's pretty hot...
Still would
I can fix her
me when the videos over got me good. aside from the phobia vids the uncanny valley ones are def my favorite
4:48 Bro looks like a gnome 💀
5:33 the dude looks like a small buff elf and in my opinion its really funny
11:03 Nah she’s still pretty asf
the fact you used CanCan in the intro is a deep cut I never thought I'd see
edit: or was it tintin i cannot remember
Greg is pure attractiveness.
This is my favorite series you do. Love uncanny valley stuff. Hell yeah, make me feel mildly uneasy!
I don't know... the girl in the thumbnail would make me scream in a different way...
Kingsglave is a technological breakthrough and simply gorgeous animation.
4:15 is actually an audio clip from the Detroit Become Human game! It's a scene where an android giving an interview about why she's not quite the same as any person, so that's why the audio sounds kinda robotic and weird with the video
CHLOE MY BELOVED
12:47 and it definitely doesn’t make it any better that tom hanks voices like half the characters in it
I doubt having Tom Hanks physically portraying and doing the motion capture for character that's like a 10 year old boy didn't help. A child's face moves differently to an adults. I guess Josh Hutcherson wasn't available to actually come in and performance capture Hero Boy. (He does voice Hero Boy though.)
Greg, what if YOU'RE uncanny, but you're afraid of regular looking people?
This is changes everything
Pretty sure varsity jacket guy just got time warped from the 80’s.
3:24 your super close! I translated it, it means
.
.
"change the face of your people with some very Dominican and creamy beans"
Why did I laugh so hard at this?! 😂😂😂 There were so many comments that made me scream with laughter!
You are too funny.
Christopher Reeves has the look on his face that my husband has when we are grocery shopping and he cracks one off and crop dusts the the aisle we are leaving or in the check out line.🤨🤣🤣🤣
That's my favorite past time!
I've never heard "crop dust" in this context before in my entire life. . . until a couple weeks ago when a friend of a friend said it after I flatulated while they were walking behind me.
And now I hear it again, for the second time in my entire life, with your comment from 19 hours ago.
Uncanny.
19:52 my guy looks like he's in the family from those old Duracell commercials
Is it bad that i got an ad for an AI program right before a video about unanney valley
I don't think it's bad. Its more so scary than anything else.
It might be bad, but the bad type that is not entirely good in a way.
22:36 I’ve been listening to creepypasta, horror stories, cryptid lore etc every night when I go to bed since 2017. It started as me getting amped up for Halloween when I was 19. I’m now 26 and only scary things relax me. Send help.
5:45 dudes a forest gnome
Also if anyone ever asks if you are a real person simply reply with something along the lines of “fart poopoo haha” *blows raspberry*
It’s literally a foolproof response
I watch Polar Express every christmas, nostalgia is powerful and makes me blind to all the bad things that movie has. 10/10 for me. Hot Chocolate song goes hard
2:30 I wonder what it was like when they would kiss, cuz usually if you opened your eyes whilst kissing someone, you'd be looking right into their eyes right in front of yours, but like, did the wife have to look inwards and JFK out you know? Thoughts chat?
Did you jsut call the comments chat????
@@bananafruit6060 mhm
The answer is.. Don't fucking open your eyes when you're kissing someone, you creep. You deserve to be shamed for this. People that open their eyes to "check" what the other person is doing while kissing are the worst kind of people. What do you think they're doing or you're going to see? They're literally less than an inch away, currently preoccupied kissing you. It's just unfathomable to me why anyone would do this after the first time when they're a teenager or w/e and made to feel awkward for it.
Since tone and intention is hard to read on the internet, just to clarify, I'm kind of being sarcastic or half-joking. I'm not actually outraged at a complete stranger for something so fucking stupid and ridiculous. But seriously, it is, in fact, a weird thing to do. Cool people don't do that. You are cool, aren't you?
4:55 One of santa's elves escaped the north pole and started lifting
Got here before a minute could pass, hell yeah
When the video of the chick in the corner popped up, I swear I've never felt so unsafe and just suspicious of corners in my room in my entire life
The uncanniest valley of them all is Nature Valley.
Man I really wish you cited all these artists so I could go check out more of their stuff..
I really wanted to see more of those two dudes. And the one lady that says she stole someones voice lol.
Just added credits to the tiktokers I looked at in the video! Thanks for the reminder!
@@GregBroDudeMan Thank you! I appreciate it! ❤
Buff dude when he ate the cheese his mustache grew instantly

@11:03 Magnus Archives, ftw!
I knew I recognized it! It was bugging me so much trying to place it.
11:00 is from the.. I think the magnus archives, a really good podcast on spotify, and such. its called a podcast, but its a audio story.
I will not accept The Polar Express hate 😤
19:59 he looks like a sims character 🤨
I feel uncanned
I think AI is so dangerous for humanity. It’s supposed to make life easier and less time-consuming, but it just feels wrong. Idk how to explain that, but something doesn’t feel right about AI
That's not the AI you're worried about. In an economic system where its profits over people, AI will be used to benefit those rich guys. We've already seen it where technology replaces people ever since minimum wage went up in various states.
But AI has a lot of good potential, making menial labor easier, self-driving public transport or running a planned economic system. We shouldn't have AI making our art either, that crap irks me lol
