some of the greatest guitar tones I've seen in my life so far. Wish him and Eric Johnson could make an album together. Andy would do Solo guitar and Eric the chords. That'd be Empyrean.
I'm amazed, as a 56yr old music lover and guitarist that I've only just heard of Andy Timmons. His talent is beyond words. I now have to re-calibrate my ideas of a great guitarist, Andy Timmons , to me....is Hendrix, SRV, Joe Satriani, Nuno Bettencourt, Tommy Emanuelle , Eric Clapton, Randy Rhoads, Mark Knopfler and every 'guitar great' I can can name rolled into one, but wrapped in his own unique style and interpretation - I find it simply unbelievable what my ears and eyes have just witnessed. This man simply pours his soul through that instrument, I never knew that the guitar could be as expressive. Mindblowing!
This is my all-time favourite song by a living guitarist. Absolutely fantastic playing with so much emotion and passion, and a real sense of melody mixed in with incredible technique and serious tone. This is Stevie Ray Vaughan's "Lenny" mixed in with some Jimi Hendrix for good measure! Love this song!
Some guitarists like Yngwie Malmsteen are very good at technique and speed with the guitar, but when listening to Andy Timmons we realize that to be a good guitarist is needed not only speed if not the feeling that he put the song! / .. /
This guy looks like, act likes, performs as energetically as Lou Christie, the singer from the 1960s. It's like watching him all over again, renewed, remade and updated. It is unreal how much they resemble each other and have the exact same kind of stage presence and similar emotional effect.
most people confuse music genres, technical styles and make these honest comments. just because you don't get the emotions doesn't mean the emotions are not there. just because I don't like rap doesn't make rap a less valuable genre. just because YM plays too fast doesn't mean he plays without emotion. Juan is comparing apples to cabbage :) it's just a different taste, different feel, different genre.
I was fortunate to see him at a guitar clinic in 1993 he played us his Ear Ecstasy material and we were amazed at his playing .I met him afterwards and got an autographed 8 x 10 picture of him we shook hands he wished me luck and he's a great guy great guitar player.
Hey! dude just wanna let you know that your playing is great. your one of my greatest guitar inspiration and I hope you'll give us more in the future and I wish i have those gears . i'm struggling musician i work 9 hours a day and save money just to hope that someday i can buy some guitars and gears like that . cheers! - Philippines - JP
@ProjectBerklee good amount of gain, 12 frets up from the fretted note. takes a little practice to get them to pop, but he's not using any special gear to get them.
+blastdude89 This is what Hendrix would sound like if he could shred. Andy Timmons is the perfect amalgam of shedding capability and melodic sensibilities.
Andy Timmons is also very listenable. You can have all the feeling, technique and speed in the world, but if you can't listen to it then what's the point in playing? I can't listen to Steve Vai for more than about 30 seconds usually, but I could listen to Andy all day :)
hoş geldin abi.. marmaris çok güzel umarım çok rahat edeceksin. 10-11-12 aralıkta u.k. de olmam gerekiyor.. konsere uğrayabilirsem yolculuk öncesi harika olur. görüşürüz abi, özlendin
One of the greatest guitar instrumentals ever. I just seem to prefer it this way, a half-step tune down (ie. Eb Standard). Has a more calming and Hendrixy feel.
I am wondering if you could compare Andy Timmons to Travis Larson, or are their styles so different, it would be like comparing apples to oranges? Both are phenomenal guitarists.
Hendrix to the bone. Appart from that it sounds like the early 90's when bands like Pearl Jam or Soundgarden were both digging in the soul of 60's rock but trying to get as far as they could from the 80s hair rock/metal attitude.
I don't even understand why Malmsteen is so appreciated and famous, to me he's just a soulless robot. Andy, on the other side, damn...every song is pure emotion.
this is an older video so yea it's probably his Laney's. I like his current tone though, more fatness. However, good tone is an opinion. Love his playing though.
***** As much as I love Satch, I agree with you. Timmons is a way better guitarist than Satch when it comes to composition and melody. Perhaps one of the best ever.
you havent heard ~always with me always with you ~ then. sorry, there is something wrong with you then :) if you cant hear the emotion that satch plays. just 2 different styles of guitarists
some of the greatest guitar tones I've seen in my life so far. Wish him and Eric Johnson could make an album together. Andy would do Solo guitar and Eric the chords. That'd be Empyrean.
complete opposites. eric is very light picker while andy is very aggressive style

I think Andy is awesome
He is !
So glad I've just found this song! I can't get enough of it. It is out of this world crazy good, what a guitarist!!!!
Saw Andy and his band perform at a guitar show in the 90s. Straight up amazing talent.
Why is Axl Rose on bass?
Kkkkkkk it's true
Axl Rose is an asshat. not worthy of the same stage
Thought it was Jay without Silent Bob.
Hats kid rock
Some guitarists like Yngwie Malmsteen are very good at technique and speed with the guitar, but when listening to Andy Timmons we realize that to be a good guitarist is needed not only speed if not the feeling that he put the song! / .. /
Thats how you start a fire!!! Amazing...met him in Abilene TX. in the 90's...very impressesed
Those harmonics
Love this! Clear Hendrix influence :D

sensational
Wow, is not only speed, is the godd music....Andy Timmons knows how to play the guitar without kill it...Very nice!!!

toca muito tem uma presença de palco invejável Brazil
Gotta love that warm tone.

Toll! Er ist der beste.
¡¡IMPRESIONANTE, EL MEJOR DIRECTO!!
One can't simply play better..unmatchable
This song really could do with a nice vocal part. It'd be glorious (I know, I know it already is, but if you know what i mean...).
NA MINHA OPINIÃO UM DOS MELHORES SOLOS DO MUNDO, ANDY TYMMONS MUITO MUSICAL ESSE CARA.
so great!!

Hey! just wanna let you know this isnt actually Andy Timmons' channel.
capooooooooooo sin plabrasssss ,,, hace vibrar esa guitarra ,,, de diez ..
very nice solo at the end, damn thats good music!
@ProjectBerklee

Fantastic!!!

That Perfect SONG!
AMAZING!!!!!
=D
Awesome !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
muito lindo e emocionante esse tema!
Epic song ..
this song is perfect... great feeling!
what a feel... love the sound of that tap-pick. his tone is amazing, thanks to mesa boogie
he played a Laney in those days, the boogie came later
@@stoofbuis ooh. good to know 😃
Absolutamente genial!!
A monster
Wonderful
realy love this one !!!
Absolute guitar genius.
super classe
love this song!
Pure class
The man can play.
What a player!
And he is so good at technique and speed, but the feeling of Andy is unique.
Que belleza
Great !!!
This has Hendrix written all over it
+blastdude89 This is what Hendrix would sound like if he could shred. Andy Timmons is the perfect amalgam of shedding capability and melodic sensibilities.
+blastdude89 Yeah,he should have called it something like "Electric Gypsy"just to show how "Hendrixy"it sounds!
Perfectly Stated Soham!
Awesome! My hart is beating with joy!!
Great guitar song! It seems like 2 guitars playing together.
I agree with you...
pura verdade!
Just best!

wow!
awesome, woah that's from the 90's XD
hoş geldin abi.. marmaris çok güzel umarım çok rahat edeceksin. 10-11-12 aralıkta u.k. de olmam gerekiyor.. konsere uğrayabilirsem yolculuk öncesi harika olur. görüşürüz abi, özlendin
sometimes it is good not to have lyrics...we can concentrate on the playing!...he is great!!
진짜 소름돋는다진짜...너무잘쳐..진짜
One of the greatest guitar instrumentals ever. I just seem to prefer it this way, a half-step tune down (ie. Eb Standard). Has a more calming and Hendrixy feel.
how the fuck have i not found this dude before!
Not only for the guitarist but to all musicians! :D
That`s how I play guitar in my dreams.
But you do have to admit he has one of the best tones around, if not THE best.
I always prefer him playing this in Eb Standard tuning. The calming effect is more evident.
Although it's a beautiful song, beautiful interpretation!!
sound zeeeeeeddd oh god.
I am wondering if you could compare Andy Timmons to Travis Larson, or are their styles so different, it would be like comparing apples to oranges? Both are phenomenal guitarists.
Jay and Silent Andy
and we got Jay rockin the bass
Hendrix to the bone. Appart from that it sounds like the early 90's when bands like Pearl Jam or Soundgarden were both digging in the soul of 60's rock but trying to get as far as they could from the 80s hair rock/metal attitude.
Andy timmons at his prime
True Story!
@hullan666 maybe it's overrated, but there's a big why, The sound cames from his hands firt...
Axl Rose play Bass? O.o
haha
hahahahaha wtf
LMAO...The minute I started watching this, I thought the same thing!
와.. 지린다
@kermheat à la basse ? ;)
more strat than strat....
is this the guitar with duncan jb on the bridge ?
Nossa lindo!!! apartir dos 2:15 fica dahora! ( :
I don't even understand why Malmsteen is so appreciated and famous, to me he's just a soulless robot. Andy, on the other side, damn...every song is pure emotion.
Jimi hendrix all over the song. From the name to the way he plays. (:
I don't blame him for wanting to play in front of bigger crowds ; )
I was thinking the same thing. Does playing fast automatically mean you don´t have feeling in it?
No lonestar and no jhs pedal still sounds like Andy, tone is in the fingers not the gear
Do you think Yngwie does't put feelings into his songs? (Sorry for responding to the 6 months old comment, but I just had to)
Who can dislike?? WHOO???
thanks to xotic bb preamp for sound ^^
somebody knows wich gear or overdrive pedal usually used timmons?
Andres Carvajal he's using a Xotic BB Preamp to boost his amp (a Mesa Boogie Lone Star) giving it a reeeaally nice saturated and warm tone.
Andres Carvajal actually now he uses a Keeley modded boss blues driver
this is an older video so yea it's probably his Laney's. I like his current tone though, more fatness. However, good tone is an opinion. Love his playing though.
and steve morse i think
FENDER ☺☺☺
it's actually an Ibanez ;)
Randy Timmons on bass
asım abi, nasılsın, neler yapıyorsun?
He would never use a fender live. His signature Ibanez is one of the nicest guitars around.
I thought joe satriani only play with such accuracy style speed and emotion, but this andy is some serious guitarist!
***** As much as I love Satch, I agree with you. Timmons is a way better guitarist than Satch when it comes to composition and melody. Perhaps one of the best ever.
you havent heard ~always with me always with you ~ then. sorry, there is something wrong with you then :) if you cant hear the emotion that satch plays. just 2 different styles of guitarists
not only emotion, also the accuracy of speed is impressive, just 2 different styles of guitarists, i like em both much
tiene el di marzio AT 1 en el puente
The solo is nearly at light speed.
what guitar model is that ?
