hey hoppy, i had seen a video of your castle with your family crest on wood panels. it was filmed by a group of guys that basically broke in and roamed around with a camera, it looked very different than the crest you once displayed. glad your castle is shaping up so well.
I am glad that a great deal of the 15th century timbers still survive in part of the house. I hope the weather and insects have not damaged it much. Great video. Thanks.

Hey Mr Hopwood, perhaps you could see if any film makers want to use parts of the Hall for their movies. Perhaps they could do parts up and decorate for their takes. Of course I am pretty sure it is a Listed building but some alterations could be temporary and others permanent.
Question to myself but out of curiosity really - how do you go about restoring something like that without in anyway diminishing the history of it - I mean wow just wow! Thank you! I hope you get back a bunch of the stuff that was stolen.
You need to get this historic section of Hopwood Hall livable so you can move in and start writing sequels to Downton Shabby! Indoor plumbing might be a consideration first, as you don't seem a chamber pot sort of dude... Best, Richard

Hi Sintara - yes that was the bed that Byron slept in. It was auctioned off in the 1920s after the Hopwood family had left the Hall. We are still hopeful to track it down someday!

She devised a programme to run it. Do not think that tiny opening was the real door to the 'bathing' room. When I first saw that bedroom it reminded me of the mediaeval cruck framed buildings which you get in N W England.
