Pi Network was founded in 2019 by multiple Stanford professors with the aim to create a coin that can equally be mined by everyone and does not provide an unfair advantage to people with more money or better hardware.
Pi coin the official cryptocurrency of the Pi network can only be mined until the Network reaches a specific number of users.
Since mining Pi happens on your smartphone and the mining speed is not determined by hardware or operating system of your smartphone but only depends on the number of people you invite to join your Pi Network it's by far the fairest approach to building a cryptocurrency I've seen in a long time.
The biggest benefit of the current "mine Pi coins for free on your phone" phase is that we can be 100% certain that Pi Network is NOT a scam because it doesn't require any investment at all to get started.

well it's hard to say if i locked it up for three years, coz crypto Bazar is really strange but I can say that holding PI is one of the best decisions that trader can make.

Some light at the end of the tunnel. The only obstacle before mainnet is doing my KYC and hoping my security circle will pass kyc. I have locked 50 percent for two years. Thanks for the video and I always owe you for introducing such great projects.

Yes, once you created your wallet in the Pi Browser it's automatically connected to your account. Don't forget to backup your private key.

Those new coins are available immediately. You can change the lockup once the mainnet launches and those changed settings should only affect any additional coins you get from referrals that pass the KYC verification later.

That was something I was curious to, are you sure about it, coz if I for example lock up 100% for 3 years I could make back all the Pi I earnd in 2 years in only 4 months, so practically the best choice would be to lock up everything for the maximum amount of time.

I don't know why everyone is focusing so much on what value Pi will have at launch... really doesn't matter. If Pi manages to create an active community that uses Pi for different things than the value will anyways increase over time as it attracts more users.
Therefore, it doesn't really matter what the value at launch is going to be IMHO.

You can change the lock up value until the balances actually get transferred. Not sure when exactly that will happen but it should be soon.

No, if you don't set the lockup before the mainnet launch your coins simply won't be locked up and you won't get the mining boost.

So the lock up only affects your mined pi & not the bonus pi, so when your referrals pass their KYC & the bonus pi get transferred to your mainnet balance, would it automatically lock up?
Yes, once your referrals pass KYC those "bonus Pi" will be transferred as well and will also consider your current lockup settings.
You can, however, change your lockup settings at any time.
Hi Christian. I have been mining with my group for a year. on the six steps. 1. do i have to download the app again as I am mining on it already. 2. Do i have to download browser again with my test wallet. Will my test wallet become Mainet wallet with my passphrase and wallet ID I have from my test wallet. Great channel. Pity Pi has no support videos to help. I have lost some on group who lost their app and did not know how to get back. No info from Pi. Thanks for all info we follow on your channel.
No need to download anything again.
As for the wallet, I assume that your test net wallet will turn into the mainnet wallet, but if not you'll for sure have an option to create a new mainnet wallet.
Yeah, Pi could've done much better in terms of marketing and support content. You can see that the majority of my referrals also already "gave up" which is a huge pity for me and for them.

I have two members in my secure group who got new phones, (same numbers not new,)downloaded the app and put in username and password. The app started but it went back to mining from 1 Pi. Thy have lost all their Pi and are angry as have been mining and verified with FB for a year. Even though they are mining from one, they show on my secure group but does never show the mining. I have a few with other problems an all are friends/real people verified in the old FB and phone number. Another (3rd one) downloaded app. put in UN and PW and it says number already in use. Pi has no support structure to assist people, so we have to rely on guys like you to help. One would think they would be more organized in educating properly. Imagine doing all this, get listed, buy more Pi, change to new phone and same number and then you find it's all gone and you don't even know how to find it or get help. That is their shortfall. lots of updates, no education. Can you help there in any way? thank you Bruce
So reading the white paper today, they stated that they will have a max supply of 100 billion pi coin, and that 65% will be mined for those who partake in the process. I see a lot of people throw random numbers for “price predictions” such as $100 or higher, I can’t see due to the supply how that will be possible.
One important question is how much of that supply will be circulating, but even more important, how much each Pioneer is willing to sell their Pi coins for.
If nobody would be willing to sell/use their Pi coins for less than $100 then that would be the value of Pi no matter how big the supply. But obv. with more supply it also means that there'll always be some that will be willing to sell for $0.0000001 as well.
Either way, the enclosed mainnet should help get a rough idea of how the majority of users value their Pi already before we then will see a definitive value on the open mainnet once Pi gets listed on the first exchange.

Hi Christian, I like to go for 200% after the mainnet, my transferrable balance to mainnet is 233 pi. And my unverified balance is 273 pi. if my referral are kyc'ed do you think my 200% will be reached? Nice video
You'd only achieve the 200% if you also receive Pi from other users by, for example, selling products/services in exchange for Pi.
How long will the boost last for the lock? Will this be your new base mining rate?
Good question. I assume that's mentioned in the updated new about the mainnet launch, but I had no time to dig into this so far.
Probably the boost is valid for the entire lockup periods and ends once the lockup ends.

Only time will tell if and how much I made by covering project like Pi Network on my channel.
In the end, I only make money (besides the general RUclips revenue) IF the people that signed up also made money (= Pi succeeds and has a decent value).

Unfortunately, no. Just link your Facebook instead so you can use that to regain access to your account if you ever need to.

I'm a little lost but just to clarify the whole point of locked up is so that people don't sell all their pi the second it goes to mainnet correct? And by locking it up once pi is on the mainnet that's how long your crypto will be locked up until you can sell it and by having it locked up you get a mining boost?

No, the boost will only affect the mining rate on the mainnet. There is no interest on the locked up amount.

Hey I really need some advice and help as I've got many apps with satoshi and also added money to a few apps like storm gain but can't open binance or coinbase because I don't have proper ID I have a defi wallet with crypto but I'm so new to this I'm completely confused and dont know what I'm doing tbh. For the rest you'll have to open an account with an exchange like Coinbase, Binance, Crypto.com,... and probably you'll have to get an official ID to pass the verifications each of these exchanges will require.

That depends on how many referrals you have, how many of them are active, and how active you are.
So what I understand from this is that the amount of coins that I have right now will be locked according to how much I choose to be locked and then I cannot use that amount of coins for the period I locked them but I will eventually get them back after that locked period ends. As for the coins that are not verified, we cannot lock them but will we be able to use them when pi coin launches in the market?
Exactly
The unverified coins will turn "verified" once your referrals and/or security circle members pass KYC.
Those will then be transferred to your mainnet wallet and locked up as well using your latest lockup settings.
You can change your lockup settings at any time, so you could configure a 90% 3-year lockup now, and then once that happens change the settings to 50% and 2-weeks, for example. Then your first batch of coins would be locked up according to the initial settings and all coins that you receive later (as your referrals keep passing KYC) would be locked up using the new setting.
So understanding is similar to a bank fixed account??

No, please carefully read the descriptions in the Mainnet and Lockup sections of the app since they explain in detail what the lockup means.
So, it sound's like lockup means the coin you "stored" in Pi system and can not use it in other way like trading or make some profit.
One thing i do not understand is that lockup only applied to those future coins but not the number show in your app. am i right??
You can find a detailed explanation of the lockup feature in the app as well.

Thanks for your time. However, after my first lock up period expired, i tried locking up for another one year. I see SAVE at the bottom ot the dialogue box but the luck up reward has remained zero for more than a month now and my previous luck up balance is year to be released. What should i do?
Lockups only affect coins that migrate from the app to your wallet. There is right now no method to lock up coins that already unlocked.

No, that's the whole purpose of the lockup that you commit to the selected timeframe.

No worries. Facebook OR Phone is enough. Just need to also pass the KYC verification (coming soon in the Pi app) and you are good to go.
I took the tick out of the box that says ' automatically lock up a portion of pi' then pressed save. Does this mean I have saved the setting that I don't want to save any of my pi. That is what I want. I am a little scared it may have committed to a default setting without me knowing. What do you think? My understanding is that if you untick the box then your not saving.
If you unchecked the box and saved then none of your balance will be locked up.

No, it's only affecting the Pi you got before the transfer to the mainnet. Anything you receive on the mainnet won't be locked up.

I don't know why everyone is focusing so much on what value Pi will have at launch... really doesn't matter. If Pi manages to create an active community that uses Pi for different things than the value will anyways increase over time as it attracts more users.
Therefore, it doesn't really matter what the value at launch is going to be IMHO.

You have to invite new users to Pi Network and they have to use your nickname during sign-up.
In other words, if you want to have a lot of referrals, you also have to put in a lot of effort to reach many people looking for ways to get crypto.

Lock at the bright side, once your coins become available there should also be more usecases for them already.
