One extra thing that really helped me finally crack this was using deadeye (after skipping the end cut scene, just before going over the incline and first set of trees) to follow the pinto's trail. Rather than scanning the horizon for it I could just immediately get on the trail.
I'm approaching the 3rd Albert Mason mission in my current playthrough and I'm going to try your method to get Silver Dapple Pinto MFT. Although I still prefer the Amber Champagne coat, you can never miss an opportunity to snag arguably THE top tier horse so early in the game
My very first time encountering the lady with this horse at moonstone pond this horse was alive, but stupidly I didn’t know how good it was so I left it there and gave her a ride..lol….but I didn’t take her all the way back home so now she shows up again in multiple places, I will find it alive again after eliminating her and trying, if that fails I’ll try this way …still new to the game and been in Chap 2 for about 160 hours..gathering everything I can before proceeding farther..makes it a bit easier to survive ..lol..
You know I was replaying the game a while back 3 or 4 months ago, an i replayed this mission many times to get this horse. I finally got it right jumped on the back and once I got on it, it was like the game glitched I couldn't look at weapon wheel I couldn't do anything. The horse would not stop freaking out, literally panic attacked till it conked out lol my screen went black, and I couldn't go back to the mission. The point I had saved before the mission didn't work; I was soooo upset I never did get that horse maybe one day!! for now, it's the one that got away! ~!!
My method (works only with disk version): delete the game and all save files, turn off your connection to the internet, install the game, play trough chapter 1, when you reach chapter 2 do the bear hunt mission with Hosea to open stables, then go and exploit the Saint Denis horse glitch, this way I got the Silver Dapple Pinto and Amber Champagne MFT, Silver Turkoman and the Tiger Striped Mustang. Of course while doing this I tried to avoid triggering any random encounters to keep the game as fresh as possible. Stable all your preferred horses, connect to the internet so your game can get the most recent patch and you are good to go (I also recommend making a lot of saves, so you won't lose all that hard work, and you can start your game with all that already done). I took it to a whole new level and crafted the legend of the east satchel and rattlesnake saddle before updating the game to the newest version. Good luck and have patience!😂😂😂
brooo i failed the first time and had loaded pre save now everytime i complete it the auto save thing pops up and the horses despawn by then what do i do?

I think Rockstar have made the Silver Dappled Pinto harder, but by no means impossible, usually takes me 2 - 4 goes, but definitely worth it

Maybe they patched it. I tried 10 times and the horses completely disappear after the cut scene with Mason.
Track the horse before the cut scene so you can see the trail it goes pretty far sometimes.
